2 Months Down Update And Pics

Merydia you are looking great! Congratulations also on your engagement!!! What an exciting time for you! Regarding the weightloss and how it shows or not, I found that early on, even after 35 or 40 pounds, most people could not quite "see it." They would comment I looked good but not necessarily abou the weight. For me, after those first 45 lbs or so, then it started to show, progressively more with each 10 pound loss! Now, I drop a couple of pounds and everyone comments "have you lost weight?!" It cracks me up every time! I think, you didn't notice 50 but you sure notice 2!!! Anyway, have fun and enjoy all your success. I am sure there is more to come!!!!! :-)

    A Sad Milestone

I don't know if talking with your boyfriend would be helpful or not, it just depends on your relationship and his ability to support you. But regardless of outside support, my sense is that your relationship with yourself and reconnecting with your self would be the most valuable; learning to believe in yourself again. You had the gumption to take a step such as WLS, so clearly you are a fighter. You reached out on the board so you care and YOU CAN DO IT! I've always loved the saying "fake it till you make it" because it helps me address those feelings of "I hate to do.... blank..." or "It's too hard to.... blank..." If you fake it till you make it, or "do it anyway" and just "pretend" you like it, it breaks through that initial resistance, usually just enough to reconnect with those affirming thoughts and feelings and eventually we get some momentum. When I don't want work out I tell myself, just fake it! etc. I give myself permission to not like it or not be very happy about it, but I do it anyway. Again, it helps me ge through those tough moments that can build to one big negative week or month or longer. I hope all of our posts are helpful in some way. We are all rooting for you!!! Sending lots of positive thougths your way that you get back on track!!!!!

    Top 3 Tips For Success

Loving your picture Forensikchic! You're doing great!
  7. I agree. It's one day at at time... one hour at a time even. And it does get better. BTW, just to share my experience: I was instructed to ge one oz of fluid every 8 to 10 minutes. NOT FASTER! That gives you an idea that the sips are indeed very tiny! It would take a while to work on that one once! I would use a one ounce plastic shot glass and fill it and work on it slowly. When I finished it, I'd fill it again. Just kept it full. It was less overwhelming that seeing a big bottle in front of me! Hang in there!!! Sending lots of good thoughts your way!!!

    Surgery Tomorrow!

Yes! It's so totally normal to have major gitters before surgery, even if you have had other procedures! It's a a scary thing. I was fortunate many people on this board reassured me of this because the day of, I wanted to run out of the room... gown and all! :-) But I kept reminding myself of others' experiences and knew it was a normal response. In my case, the hospital staff was awesome and took really good care of me. In general, they know we are nervous and scared and they tend to be comforting and supportive. Sending good thoughts your way, both of you, for a great experience and a super speedy recovery!!!!!

  20. It's funny I saw this post because I was going to inquire about the same thing. I am 10 months out and I've been going through periods where I just can't eat anything. One or two bites will fill me up and past that starts trouble. It's difficult eating out or being invited to dine at friend's or family because I just can't eat. I have varied my foods, taken my PPI again etc. During TMI I seem to be more hungry and be able to eat more in general. But I still eat between 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup at most overall. I am making an appointment with my surgeon to check things out. Like PDXMAN above posted, perhaps it's some kind of food allergy or intolearnce. I will post whatever I find out!

On The Verge Of A Breakdown!

I'm so sorry you are going through all this. I can imagine how isolating, as well as painful and frustrating, it must be. What an ordeal to have to go through! Sending lots of good thoughts your way for strength and a super speedy recovery. I'll be thinking about you. Please post your progress.

    Gained 10 Lbs This Week

Wow, that stinks!!! I'm wondering if, since you say you ate out a lot, could you have retained fluids? I noticed that when I eat out I either gain temporarily or don't lose. I don't use much salt at home and lots of prepackaged foods or restaurant foods have much more sodium. Also, since you were so busy running around, were you able to get enough water in? Perhaps you can flush your body in the next day or so getting lots of fluids in. Don't panic though. I cannot imagine the gain being fat! Hopefully you'll get to the bottom of it! Sending good thoughts your way!!!!!

    Gurgling?

I still have gurgling 10 months out. However, it is way less and also it depends on the foods I eat. Some proteins seems to give me much more gurgling and more intense and loud too! But it does get better. For me though, it did not get better till several months out. I would joke after my first bite: "let the gurgling begin!" My husband could actually hear it!!!!! :-)

6 Days Out And Feeling Good

For me week two is when I suddendly started feeling great! My energy came back and I felt normal, other than the changes in eating of course. I did somehow pull my muscles with a sneeze when caused a side pain on my sutures for a couple of weeks off an on pretty intense. But nothing serious or of consequence. It's a pretty big surgery and even though there aren't much traces of it (i.e., little tiny scars) it's still a big deal. It takes some time to recover. But overall I am amazed at how quickly we all seem to get back on our feet. Hang in there! Sending lots of good thoughts your way for a super speedy recovery!!!!!
