Thanks guys! Guess I should cancel that appointment at the salon!

My surgery is coming up Tuesday. I planned to get a mani/pedi Monday so all looks beautiful at the hospital. A friend told me that you are not allowed to wear polish during surgery. My surgeon did not mention this. Was that true for any of you?? Would be seriously pi$$ed if I spent money for the mani/pedi and they took off the polish at the hospital LOL!

Day 7 of pre-op diet and I am down 6 pounds. So excited that my surgery is a week from tomorrow! I am so going to do this and do it right!

Ha! Yes my kitties will have to settle for sitting on my lap for a while! I have all of my supplies ready and waiting for my return home so I should not have to leave the house for a few days except for my walks. My parents live near if I have an emergency and my daughter is helpful! I think I will be fine on my own. Just have to take this opportunity to stand up for what I want which is something I am working on! Someone is going to be very offended that I do not come home with them. But this is just about me for once. I will soon be 40 years old and can make my own decisions! UGH family dynamics! They mean well!

Were you able to go straight home from the hospital and take care of yourself after surgery or did you need someone to stay with you? Just wondering as I am single with a 9 year old daughter. People are trying to get me to stay at their house after surgery but I think I will be able to come home. I just can not get as comfortable at other peoples houses. I want my own couch and bed and TV and kitty cats! My family thinks I will need help but I think I will be just fine if they just check in on me like twice a day! Thoughts?? 13 days till my sleeve!!!

So yesterday was first day on pre-op and I thought it was going to be horrible. It went really well!! I woke up today feeling energized and better than I have in a long time. This is just a new beginning! My overeating days are completely behind me now. So excited to be sleeved in 13 days!!

WOW! First day of pre-op diet completed! Well at least I have eaten all I am allowed to eat for the day. It is 7:40 P.M. here and I think I better just go to bed now to make sure I do not eat anything!

Wow! Things are really starting to feel Real! Start my pre-op diet today. I am going to be so hungry but I know how important this is and I am going to do everything I can to stick to it perfectly. I get 3 protein shakes and 2 lean cuisine/healthy choice meals per day. I am sure this first day will be the hardest but I can do it! 14 Days till my Sleeve!

I do not have any good advise but can offer comfort that I did the same thing. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. I have eaten everything in sight for the past week. I know it was totally wrong but I guess I felt the need to say good bye to some things I will not be eating for quite some time. I do believe that once I see the weight falling off I will be so excited and motivated that I will just about forget about all those foods or at least forget about eating them in such large quantities! Good luck to you! I hope you find a better answer than I did.

WOW! Is that 16 pounds since you weighed the day of your surgery or 16 pounds including pre-op diet? Either way....AWESOME job!

I know that right after surgery I will weigh more because of the fluids. How long before that goes away? How long should I wait after my surgery to get on the scale?

My surgery "Bible" calls it a Jackson Pratt Drain. It is a clear tube with an egg shaped bulb on the end. It is placed in the belly during surgery to drain excess blood and fluids from the surgical area.

I went to see my surgeon yesterday for the last time before my surgery. I forgot to ask one question so maybe you guys can help me. Will I get the drain tube removed before I leave the hospital or do I have to come home with it?

I am on my way to my last pre-op appointment today. So excited! Thinking of those of you going in for surgery today!

I am not sleeved yet but will be on June 21st. I am just south of Dayton.

Hello my fellow Jewels! So excited! Since I have been so anemic I was afraid that even though I was rescheduled for Jun 21st it would not happen. I just got new blood work back and we are good to go!
