  1. I am new to posting but not lurking. I am set for my surgery on May 17th. The hospital just called and said the procedure is around 25,000.00. Is this correct? It seems very high from what i have been reading. Is this the cost of my surgeon also or is that seperate? Please help with any answers you might have.

    Thanks Katwoman Texas

  2. Hi-Quick question-

I just received the results from my sleep study and it came back that I was positive for sleep apnea but on the mild side.

I still have a scope to do on the 18th to check for hernia to go but I have already attended a pre-op session.

I am going through True Results with Dr. Hollis.

Now I am paranoid that they will not let me do the surgery because of the slight sleep apnea.

I thought the lapband would be able to help me with my sleep.

What do y'all think? Will they let me have the surgery?

Yes you will get your surgery. I am going through true results also but in Austin. I also have a mild case of sleep apnea. My surgery is set for the 17th. Good Luck to you.

  3. I have a Cigna HMO plan. I am more than 100 pounds over weight, BMI of 41 and sleep apnea. Has anyone been able to get Cigna to pay for the lap band surgery? I am in the early decision making process and honestly cannot afford $12K plus out of pocket. Thanks!

I also have Cigna. I had to do the six month weight loss visits. My surgery is next week. Once these were done they sent in my paperwork and I was approved 2 day later. hope this helps.

  4. I have CIGNA. My paperwork was submitted April 19. There is still no word. The doctor's office said they had 30 days but usually when they deny it's within the first week or two. I'm interested in knowing if you were denied, how long before you got that word, and if you were approved, how long for that? My surgery is scheduled 5-23 and we're getting down to the wire here....:)

I have cigna and my approval came in 2 days. I am in texas if that make a difference.

  6. Anyone have any idea how long it take for Cigna to approve surgery? I have been thru the 6 month nutrution classes (last one next week), the cardiologist has cleared me, and the pysch consult. Only thing now is to wait for ok from insurance and then I can get a date. I'm very anxious!! I also need to give some notice at work for my time off.

I to have Cigna open access and just finished all my classes on 04/18/2011. The doctors office submitted the paperwork last thursday and I got a call this morning that I am approved.

    Good Luck
