    Cigna

Hi everyone! For those of you who have Cigna for insurance and have the 6 months PCP visits. Does your plan explain how they count 6 months? Is it just once a month around the same dates( March 14, April 13, May 10, etc.) OR do they count out 30 days between each visit? I have called my insurance office and I seem to continue to get people who don't know anything. I plan on asking my surgeon's office, just thought I would post. Thanks

    FOOD

For those of you still pre-op and post-op that remember, do you fill like you want or wanted to eat every and anything because you knew after surgery or right before surgery it all stops. I have the 6 months PCP visits (4th one coming up June 13) and all I want to do is eat. I know I can not do this closer to surgery time and after surgery. It is like I know I will have to let go of a lot of different foods and I want to enjoy them for the last time as much as possible. I hope I don't sound crazy! LOL! Did anyone else feel like they were eating a two story house with a farm and animals and the legs off the kitchen table for dessert, prior to surgery? I know I can't be the only one.

    FOOD

Glad I am not alone. LOL! My BMI was 44.6 at my first visit so I didn't do extra eating in regards to that. I did my regular eating which in reality is extra eating hence where I am today. Thanks for your responses. :-)

    My machine

Well, I had my sleep test done in May and I have sleep apnea. I got my machine this past Thursday. I "slept" with it first time on Friday night. Needless to say I do not like this thing!!! LOL! I know it is something i have to get use to for now but I am really not liking it. I woke up 3 times out of my sleep last night and two of those times I took the thing out of my nose as if it wasnt suppose to be there LOL! I have the one that goes in your nose and not the complete mask covering your nose , thought the less on my face the better. I am really praying this surgery makes the sleep apnea go away. Just a small vent! Have a good weekend all!

    A little upset

Thanks ladies! I know he didn't mean any harm but for some reason it bothered me today. It probably was the style he didn't like. But I wore it anyway.. LOL!

    A little upset

So when I ask my hubby if a shirt or something looks small on me, I expect him to be honest and tell me (he always is), honestly if I ask him I tend to already think it is to small anyway. Well today he tells me the shirt I have on is to small. I DID NOT ask him his opinion and as a matter of fact I bought it the right size. I looked in the mirror and my rolls are not hanging out and my tummy is covered. I know how to shop. I am not a delusional person who is fat and they don't know it, so they keep wearing or buying to small clothes. LOL! I buy the right size, mommy taught me well. I don't know why this upset me but I wish he had kept his comment to himself. UGH! I am to emotional and I have no idea why!!!! Well thanks for letting me vent. Have a safe holiday weekend.

    Telling your boss

Hi! For those of you who are not telling your co-workers or boss exactly what type of surgery you are having, what are you telling your boss? I told two of my friends from work beyond the fam that knows and I am pretty sure they aren't going to say anything. One of them told me today to tell our boss something different because she spilled the beans on another co-worker having Lap-band. Now I hope to only be out of work for two weeks no longer than three weeks. I work with a bunch of people who are always trying to be in other people's business. Just curious to know what others told their boss without saying WLS.

    Thanks ladies

    Pcp letter

For my insurance my PCP has to write a letter stating this is medically necessary. Just wanted to know if some of you may have an example of what your PCP wrote and submitted. Thanks
  17. I voted for you! I hope you win.

    Would you change doctors?

I am sorry you had a bad experience. In my opinion, I would change doctors and clinics. The way he talked to you and did not even introduce himself is totally rude and uncalled for. Even if his "bedside manners" are nice and fuzzy, he still could have introduced himself and talked to you as a human being. He is not the only doctor that does VSG and that is not the only clinic with a Center of Excellence. Find a place where you are comfortable with both the clinic and the doctor. You should not feel discouraged or depressed after meeting with your surgeon. Best wishes and keep us posted. Take Care.

    Sleep Apnea

So I had to do my sleep study on May 3rd. The way I felt the next morning, I felt like I had only one hour of sleep. The person in charge said i got about 4-5 hrs ( woke up a lot during the night and I tossed and turned a lot). Results could take 7-10 days. Got a call today and I have sleep apnea. I know it isn't the end of the world, but when he was talking to me my stomach sunk. I go back next week to have the cpap machine on while sleeping to figure out what pressure is the right one for me to stop the issue. Then I will be coming home with my machine shortly after, I think . I am very thankful to know. The start of my journey I was going for RNY with one Doctor. I did not get to meet. His staff did my first visit and one of the ladies asked my hubby " Does your wife stop breathing in her sleep" hubby says "No", the lady moves on with the next line of questions. After deciding to have the sleeve, I found a new Doctor and he ordered more test than the 1st including the sleep study. I pray each and everyday that I am making the right decision. I ask for guidance. I truly believe deciding on WLS, changing to the sleeve, and changing surgeons was a part of God's plan. How else would I know I have sleep apnea, low Vitamin D, and H pylori. OHH and WLS can help eliminate sleep apnea (Whoo Hooo). I had no pains or issues to bring up to my PCP, so who knows how long I could have or would have gone without knowing. Sorry for rambling on but I am just thrilled. The more I pray about it the more I know I am doing the right thing. Have a great day everyone.
