  1. Have you actually eaten this since your surgery? I had some lobster salad that sat like a brick and I was uncomfortable for along time. Too soon after surgery (about six weeks) . I can eat it now, but I remember how "sick" i felt. Never vomited or even felt nauseous, just heavy chested. This appears so rich. good luck to you .

  2. I appreciate your story and look forward to your documented journey. I can relate to you not wanting to tell your co-workers and respect that. I think you're going to be stressed by telling lies, you'd be better off just saying "I can't talk about it" or "I don't want to talk about it". That was suggested to me here by more seasoned sleevers. I just went through the lie thing, or not actually telling lies but withholding information. The stress of that was bothering me to the point that I actually found myself crying over it. I'm 56 years old and live a private life, so everyone asking "how did you do it?" was the dreaded question of the day. I would just say, calories in, calories out and daily workouts. Which is not a lie, but it bothered me not telling all. I have a friend/ acquaintance that told a story about another bypass friend who down right lies and and she was offended by it. I told her it was an individual private matter. At the beginning I told lots of people, but after a few negative responses, I decided to stop making conversation out of it unless it's a person that I know would sincerely benefit from the surgery and my experience. I have found that this web site is the safest place to air your feelings and people are typically non judgemental because we're all dealing with the same thing.

Again, try not to put yourself in a stressful situation by lying because it compounds and the stress will give you unnecessary stalls and sleepless nights which has no benefit at all. The best of luck to you. I look forward to the "clean apartment" video. :-) This upcoming surgery has already put a skip in step and you're making positive changes.

  3. Hi, I am 8 months out and so far have experienced all the stalls my Dr had predicted. Three week followed by a three and Dix month stall. You'll see that things will move quickly during these stalls . She also predicts. 9 month stall too ( can't wait) as I am a slow loser to start with. Keep doing your job of getting fluids and protein and you will see success! Good luck!

  4. E-girl... You are doing this for all the right reasons. I am only 5 weeks out and can already eat most of my favorite foods. I had Mexican food on Friday evening. I had Shepard's pie yesterday. Yes, I can only have 1/3-1/2 cup of my favorites, but you learn to eat slow, savor ever morsel and enjoy what you put in your mouth more than you ever had. I promise you there are many folks that get stressed about what they will miss, but reality you can have everything and a small bite satisfies you. I am sure this is only going to get better for me. I am anxious to try salad, I loved salads and wraps. Now I can have a small wrap made on a 6 inch tortilla shell instead of an 18 inch. I may not even be able to finish it, but I can have it, and feel total satisfaction. I always get my protein first and then hopefully can put in some carbs one meal a day. You'll see, a new healthier you. Your friends will be amazed and envious. Good luck on Tuesday.
