  1. Hi, It so nice to find someone close in age and with similar stats. Are you a self-pay or did your insurance cover your surgery? I'm having my surgery through Kaiser. I have 2 more classes left and then get referred to a surgeon. I would like to lose about 60 lbs. There is a WLS-Lightweights group on Facebook that you might like to join too. Nice to meet you. P.S. I'm 57. Take care.

  2. Hi there, so nice to meet someone who also is around the same BMI as me. I had a BMI of 35.9 when I got approved by Kaiser. I have to take a 12 week Options class before being referred to a surgeon. They ask that you lose 10% of your starting weight by the time you have surgery. So like you, I am considered a "lightweight".

Would love to hear more about your journey.

  3. Thanks for your response. You live very near. I'm hearing that it will take a while for me to get surgery even after the Options classes finish so I'm thinking the end of this year. Where are you having your surgery? Would love to know what surgeons your aunt and uncle had!!!

You can also reach me on Facebook if you have an account. My full name is Phyllis Ka...

  4. Hi, I also live in Orange County and am in my 50's!!!! I'm going through the Kasier Options program and am approaching Week 4 of the 12. So a ways to go yet!!!! Nice to meet you.
