    hematoma?

I can think of worse places it could be, and worse positions *doubles over in giggles*
  2. I can count 3 and I feel blessed for every one of them. Lynn Byard on the board is more like my 2nd mom but she is one of the 3. It's a wonderful feeling to know that no matter what you do, someone has your back and is always there with love and support. Renee`
  3. I've never heard of this, very cool! I can't answer your question, but very cool! LOL Renee`

    hematoma?

I looked it up on webmd and they say that it normally goes away within 2 - 4 weeks. Some things you can do to help speed it along are: Rest applying warm heat and gentle massage of the area Compression (like an ace bandage wrap but not too tightly) Elevate the area when you can. Lie on your side when resting and try to keep that area elevated above your heart to help reduce the swelling in that area. Make sure you keep an eye on it and it doesn't look like it's becoming infected. Hope this helps, Renee`
  5. Erin I'm so glad you let us know how you're doing, it really is like a family here and we worry. I know I keep saying this, but please please look into the New whey. It's very few ounces ( 3.5oz) and packs ALOT of Protein (42 grams) with no sugar and 2 grams of carbs. please, it's so important in order to heal and where you can't get alot in at one time, it's so worth looking into, you'd only need to drink 2 a day. I'm not the praying type, but I will say a few for you and I'm sure others will as well. Please keep us updated when you're up to it, k? XOXO Renee`
  6. WOOT Raine, you're doing amazing! Have you tried the New whey Protein drink? I have some (thanks alot Lynn!) that I'll start drinking on Monday when I start my pre-op low carb diet. 2 a day and my protein will exceed the requirements so that won't be too bad I guess. Protein / Water / sip / walk / poot...HEALTH! I think in that order lol Renee`

    3 days Post-Op

I'm so sorry you guys are going through this! I wish I could hug you and be there to help you out. Unfortunately I can't make you poot. Hang in there, this is all going to be worth it when you're healthy and svelte. It's so awesome to see you so positive even when going through hell, you're all an inspiration to those of us that haven't been sleeved yet. XOXO Renee`
  8. So he was dating another girl that was chubby as well? This is what he is attracted to then, correct? It's no wonder he doesn't want you to have the surgery then. Is he willing to own up to that or is he in denial about it? Something maybe counseling could help if you're serious about staying together because he's going to have to come to terms with the fact that YOU want to get healthy and not die young. Renee`
  9. Yeah, "chubby chasers'" frequent THIS board looking for women that are intending on backing out of their surgery and staying chubby. *insert sarcastic eyeroll here) My husband told me this when I asked him about my surgery: "I'm a smart man. We've been together over 20 years and I wanna keep it that way. I have no opinion. I love you whatever you do, and I stress this, I have no opinion." LOL I have to agree, he IS a smart man. It's not my place to judge your b/f, but can you let him browse the forums or even sign up for his own account? Let him see that this isn't E-Harmony, it's for people that have had the surgery to get support and advice and people that haven't had the surgery so that they can get accurate information. This site could literally end up saving your life someday. Think about the forums for searching for a GOOD surgeon or the complications sections, those alone are like gold to me. Hope things work out for you Renee`

    Low blood pressure

Holybananas! How is your head and are you ok now that you're on medication for it? This is one of my concerns after surgery so thanks to everyone that's replied here! Renee`

    Just a little sugar...

Know how they grow bacteria in a petri dish? Add sugar. You don't want to do that to a new surgery. Your tastes will change over, give them a chance. Just my thoughts. Renee`

    piercings

When I had my hysterectomy they covered my piercings with surgical tape and left them in, no big deal. I only had to remove my earrings. Microdermal piercings can't just be "taken out" can they? I was considering getting a diamond below / beside my eye (kinda on the cheekbone). Still considering that one actually, it's cute! lol Renee`

    12 things...

This is so cool to read through these and agree with ALL of them! Tiffykins in re to shaving the girlie bits, I was telling Lynn yesterday on the phone that I haven't seen my hoohaw in so long I'm going to have to re-introduce myself to her. Shaving is always a gamble but I'm a Vegas girl and betting is what we do LOL I admit the sound of thin sex is intriguing but that's about all I remember of it so hopefully I'll find out and remember what it's like to actually have it again and at a thinner me. woot! Gina I get that alot and I wanna smack people. "Gee, thanks for the back-handed compliment. JERK!" only in my head I don't say jerk, it's alot worse than that. Renee`
  15. Just wanted to do a bit of an intro since she hasn't done it yet. I've known her for many years and I refer to her as "mama Lynn" because she's been a great second mom to me and alot of others. She has had the rouxen-y and not the sleeve, however she has a vast amount of knowledge about anatomy (we had to learn it from a friend of ours that was killed in a rollover car wreck) and how food affects the body. She is always willing to help and to mentor anyone, I mean that sincerely, she is one of the most giving people I've ever met in my life. She has had major major success (like Tiffykins actually!) in a short amount of time. She's been through hell with her health even while being proactive about it and finally told all her Drs to kiss her butt and went and had the surgery. She has cured ALL her conditions that were life threatening. She's someone I look up to, respect and love alot so please, just because she had the RNY, doesn't mean she doesn't have knowledge to share with us! Renee`

    Surgery today in mexico

I know after my surgery (not wls, another surgery) ice chips were the most delicious thing I ever had! Did you bring chap stick as well? I found that helped me alot and kept my lips from cracking. Renee`

    I threw away my scale

SEE?!?! I would be a total raving biatch on those up days. I'm sending Tiffykins hubby over to throw your scale away! LOL Renee`

    I threw away my scale

Tiff your husband sounds like mine except mine threw away my staple gun (he should have hung the curtains like I asked him and I wouldn't have had to resort to drastic measures). You aren't supposed to be weighing yourself right now are you?! Although I can understand your fear about it, just try to remember you'll always have your tool, it's just in it's rightful place right now, the toolbox! As for me, I would probably make myself crazy and end up anorexic. I'm not saying that lightly, I absolutely hate failing at anything! For my own sanity I had to throw it away. Also, like I said, I'm coming into this from a different angle, so how I feel means everything to me, more than I can express! I need some of this pain to go away and if it does, then I'm good with that! Renee`

    NSV

That had to be the best feeling! Don't worry, you'll be having alot more of those moments Renee`
  21. If you have a WLS support group in your area, do they ever trade clothes? Something to think about. Maybe someone will have something in your size and you can get rid of the ones you're shrunk out of. Congratulations, btw!!! Renee`

    I threw away my scale

I didn't mean to imply this was why you had it! no no no! and I see where you're coming from, the literature you were talking about I mean. I just wonder where or why it would advocate scale watching. Do you remember where you read that? Thanks! Renee`

    Good and Bad Days

Walks are a perfect idea! If it's raining or cold out just buy ear plugs and nod and smile at random moments, odds are they'll never notice Renee`

    12 things...

Thank YOU guys! This totally warmed my heart and I found myself reading through them and nodding and saying "YEAH! I know, right?!" all by myself. So, I look like a total dork and thank goodness my family wasn't in here. I can hear it now "Dad! Mom's nodding and laughing at the computer again!" LOL Renee`
