  1. Hi! I was banded a month ago today. It has been a journey. Everyday has been different and I am looking forward to it becoming like second nature. Anyway...this morning I woke up out of a deep sleep with extreme tightness. I had not felt like that in about 2 weeks. I have been on solids for a week. I had a small piece of chicken get caught at dinner at around 6 p.m. ( had 1 once of it prior t stuck episode) and did not eat anymore until 9. I had a scrambled egg at 9 pm and then went to sleep at midnight. I walked for 1 hour and then had peppermint tea and it relieved me a wee bit. Any suggestions to what happened? I had 4 ccs put in on my surgery day and I have my surgeon post-op on next tuesday. Thanks!
  2. I gained 1.5 poounds when I started eating solids. I had surgery a month ago today. I lost the 1.5 pounds in the last few days again once I stopped with the carbs. I have lost about 15 pounds. I was at 218 the day of my pre-op diet and I am at 203 now. I am a litte flustered, I want to lose more. I have 4 ccs in and I have my first follow-up on the 28th with the surgeon and I have my first feel on July 6th. I hope you get resolution. Congrats on the 21.5!
  3. Hi-I was banded on May 25th at Noon. The first evening was not too great but the second night was awful. The Gas pain was very intense. Today I finally took a shower and I feel so much better. I have been able to walk fairly well but in the mornings I am so stiff. There is no way I could go back to work this week with how I am feeling. I have a job that requires a lot of standing and lifting. Also, my brain is telling me I am not hungry but my stomach is growling something awful...Anyone feeling the same thing? Best wishes for our new journey!
  4. I had just got on the board to ask the same question. I am sitting at 212 and have been for the last 2 weeks. I had the surgery on Wednesday and have been on nothing but clear liquids and one protein smoothie a day. I wish everyone well!!!
  5. No one told me about the gum at all. The bad thing is I chew a pack a day. It will be a hard habit to break but I will have to. Dr. Hollis at TrueResults. I started about 6 weeks ago. I am paying for it myself as well. My BMI is 35 and I only had one issue:sleep apnea, so the insurance would not cover it. So $10k was spent last week and I am excited about tomorrow. Scared but ready. The one thing I have notised is they are SUPER busy or understaffed so be prepared to wait....not just 30 mins but 1.5 to 2 hours per appointment. Good Luck! Weesie-Good Luck in the AM and for the entire journey afterwards!!!! Prayer-Texas xXx
  6. Lord, I hope so. I have not done that in 20 years!!! Thx
  7. Hi-I am getting banded in the morning and I have been so busy today at work I tripped on a box and accidently swallowed my gum!!! Freaking out....this will not cause any issues tomorrow will it?
  8. Hi-Quick question- I just received the results from my sleep study and it came back that I was positive for sleep apnea but on the mild side. I still have a scope to do on the 18th to check for hernia to go but I have already attended a pre-op session. I am going through True Results with Dr. Hollis. Now I am paranoid that they will not let me do the surgery because of the slight sleep apnea. I thought the lapband would be able to help me with my sleep. What do y'all think? Will they let me have the surgery? [/url]
  9. Congrats! I was wondering if you can expand on the feelings you mentioned about you now know who your 'real' friends are. I have been debating on who to tell. My husband knows and is beyond supportive. I have told one friend who had it done and she told me not to do it. She said she would have not done it if she knew about all of the issues she would face, i.e. flipped port, emotional changes.
  10. I just went for a consult last week and now I am scheduling a surgery for May sometime. I have been thinking about thue surgery for a year. But now that I have started the process I feel rushed. Time is a little tight since this year my husband and I have a lot going on. Also, I have 2 people close to me that went through it and they have not been that positive about their experiences. I am really worried about the port flipping and the food getting 'hung' up. I go to dinner with one of the people who I know had it done and they throw up a lot. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!!!
