What has been the most shocking comment about the sleeve at any stage (pre-op, post-op) or about your weight loss?
I really didn't have problems with people saying hurtful things except their concern about me going to Mexico alone. The most hurtful thing to me is people not saying anything when they know I've had the surgery............

Is it ok to try to get pregnant at 4 months out?

My mom's band nightmare to kind of a sleeve
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, but thank God she survived. I'm sure the doctor will tell her what she can and cannot eat, drink, etc.... I waited to do WLS because I refused to do RNY (too evasive) and would NEVER put anything foreign into my body again. I had Norplant in my arm for 5 years and I bled for 5 years! It was horrible!!!

Back Pain.. ?
I'm not positive, but it could be gas. Four days post-op I told my patient rep who took me shopping that my back was bothering me and she said it was gas and the best thing for it was walking which is why she takes her patients shopping. I also went to the zoo the weekend immediately following my surgery and did lots of walking.... I don't have any more back pain...

Should I be hungry???
Listen, I was trying steak about 2 weeks post-op which was a dumb thing, but I had to learn... LOL

Slow weight loss is getting me down
My weight loss has slowed. This past week I only lost 1/2 lbs....................but with saying that it's still a loss!!! I feel better than I have in a long time. I couldn't even stand and wash dishes without my back hurting. Yesterday, not only did I wash dishes, but I cleaned out my office which had lots of crap that I just threw into it. I was always soooooooooooooo tired and never had energy to do anything. The only thing I kept up with was school which is on-line so I remained sitting most of the time. It feels good to be able to move around!

Okay, I drank 11 oz. in about 15 minutes today. WTheck is going on?
I have a higher tolerance for drinking than eating also. I can chug a drink is less than 5 minutes, but mostly because I was always like that too! I take allergy medication which makes me thirsty all day lone. With food, I have to stay within 4 oz. I think you will be ok.

That food pain in the chest
I am 2 weeks post-op and have had aspargus soup and pea soup. I was feeling lethargic so I figured it was because I needed food. They both were mashed up in the mixer and went down fine. Also, I find every morning when I come to work and have a protein shake, I feel ill for about 10-15 minutes and then I'm fine. Today, I actually started sweating from it and then I felt fine 15 minutes later. Is this a sugar rush?

On my 3rd week stall... so Disappointed :(
I think your surgeon is a pompous butt! I cannot believe he would tell a patient something like that especially considering how much you have lost! YOu are doing fine my dear....

Walking
I walked on Day 2 after surgery just so I could work the gas pains completely out. It seemed to help a lot because the next day it was so much better, almost incredible to be exact! I actually went shopping on Day 3 with the patient advocate and felt really good afterwards. I am almost totally back to normal. We went to the Audubon Zoo in NOLA this past Saturday and it may have been a little too much but I didn't notice until I stopped... LOL

Gastric Sleeve Experts... Please Chime In!
Are we going to experience ups and downs? I actually lost a total of 20 lbs pre- and post-op and then I get on the scale Saturday night and had gained back 1/2 pound. Then today I get on scale and another pound up??? What's up with that? I'm still not on solids since its only 10 or 11 days post-op.

Lori's Journey Days 1-2-3
Day 1 - It seems like it took forever, but I finally had surgery around 3 p.m. pacific time. When they woke me up, I felt nothing but gas pain. It was awful!!! I stress awful because it was unbearable. The nurse, poor thing, had hell with me but gave me pain meds in my bottom and that finally got me to sleep. When I woke up the next day I was a million times better. Day 2 - Woke up feeling that I was sorry for doing this to myself, but I quickly let go of that thought. After all, I am by myself in Mexico. My husband freaked out because I didn't get back to him right after surgery. Not! He should have come with me!!!!! I am feeling better this day. They are having a music festival by the ocean and I can hear it good, but the pain medication is helping me sleep so no problem.... I sleep most of the day. I did walk today and went right back to room and sleep. Also did my ball exercise. I can get up 2 balls. Day 3 - I am currently on this day and I feel 100 percent better than the first two days. A little gas, but nothing to cry about and I am getting all three balls up on my exercise. I need to go walk but waiting for something to drink. Will post soon...
