  1. I got my band in April overseas and got my first 3cc fill May 18th - then another 2cc in June 20th. 5cc total and im back in the states and im extremely uncomfortable - having the hardest time ever with it.. i can barely eat - and when i do i feel it get lodged and wait it out to go down.. trying to find a DR to unfill me - but its sooo expensive here.. thinking about just going a liquid route and juicing until i go back overseas to see my DR and unfill... and im not losing weight.. so im just miserable..
  2. Hey everyone - I was banded 4/12 and really want to whip myself into shape with this new tool. CROSSFIT seems to be all the rage.. wanted to know if any of you have done it... or did your DR advise against it? I had my surgery overseas - so aftercare is non existent so I depend on this forum for alot of info.. please let me know thanks! im scared of it slipping..
  3. Ive been banded 5 weeks (April 12th) and got my first fill yesterday! 3cc in a 11cc band. Im super excited because the last two weeks I felt my appetite start to rev up due to the swelling going down. I have been averaging 1 Kilo / 2.5 lbs a week (total 14llbs lost thus far) but the last week only went down a .5kilo - started to feel disappointment i KNOW I KNOW - I shouldnt considering I will hit many plateaus and what not - but I am very critical of myself Main thing I want to know - with the fill im going to eat less - so how do I get my CALORIE to make sure I do not go into starvation mode and stall on weight loss? Any suggestions for this stage with the 1st fill? Any suggestions would be great! Also - Im cleared to workout as well - so starting swimming and light cardio.. any suggestions?

    Puree suggestions?

Hey! Im in my first week of puree foods and its honestly not that bad - like yourself I was TOTALLY turned off by the mushing/pureeing of meats ... but.. its fine.. My fave is TUNA in Water. Just put some lemon pepper and a little bit of green onion and its really tastey. As for veggies - Ive started making vegetable stock and then using the veggies in the broth. it blends into a garden vegetable creamy soup... thats yummy as well . Add Rosemary for an Italian flavor to the broth or perhaps cilantro Im trying chicken tomorrow - pureed that is .. wish me luck.. lol Just two suggestions for you hope this helps..

  7. Hey Everyone Its been 19 days since I was banded. Wanted to know - how long did the port discomfort last? Its not painful - its just an odd feeling and at times uncomfortable - is this something that goes away with time? I know my body is healing - but is that the last to heal properly? I feel like its about to pop out .. Thanks for the responses in advance.
  8. Hey everyone - Hope you are well and healthy first and foremost. So here I am - 17 days after my surgery and I have lost 6 lbs - Im totally getting freaked out that Im doing something wrong. I am not getting this "i took two bites and full" feeling - that others seem to have. When Its time for me to eat - im eating all my food and sometimes thinking whats next or how to make it better. Im currently on Phase 2 of the diet - mushy/puree's : which has me freaked out that i wont lose anymore weight on. Im starting to feel helpless - especially with my cycle around the corner , im craving everything and disappointed im not losing weight.. im praying that a fill will fix this.. so my thing is : What was the avg weight loss for you guys during the post op diets and how did you keep from the cravings?
  9. Hey Everyone. I was recently banded in the Middle East on 4/12 with a French Brand of the ring called BIORING. I only have 2.5 months to recover here then I go back to the US. Im currently researching DR's for follow up in GA and after reading some forums , it dawned on me that some Rings are not FDA approved in the US. This is a concern for me , considering I will need fills , have any of you had this issue? Are you aware if DR's are allowed to fill on a non-fda ring? Thanks everyone.. you all are a great help!

    Did I mess up?

Thanks Rachel! My concern is that I had it done overseas, so needless to say the DR has been very lax in the post-op diet and Im left to do my own research online , which can be frustrating with the amount of information. To make matters worse. I managed to get a head cold that has made me super weak with flu symptoms , so Im not able to be active to assist the first week. Im just so nervous.. I guess tomorrow I will re-start and only take in Water, Soup and tea.. and elliminate the sugar free Jello and diet yogurt..
  12. Hey Everyone , I was recently Banded on 4/12 and was told I can have diet plain yogurt and Jello along with my liquids ... but after much reading online and feeling a sense of disappointment coming on due to only losing 1llb in 6 days.. im thinking.. did I mess up? Was I not supposed to have Jello or Yogurt? So much stuff online .. im so confused. Please help..
