It will get better each day but not overnight. It took me around 6 months until all the problems seemed to melt away. I remember at the beginning the complexity of taking the Vitamins scheduled over the whole day, measuring each bit of food I consumed. It literally consumed my whole day. I wrote down my observations into a short article. It might be of some help in the days ahead. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery.pdf

i was offering help. i think your rate of weight loss expectations are far too high, i think you are exercising too much (800 calories per workout is extreme), and i tried to educate you that weight loss is NOT as simple as calories in / calories out. but you have rejected all of that (sound) advice and have turned into a raging b*tch launching ad hominem attacks against me.
again, i think finding a good psychologist might be your best bet.

now see... pain and throat problems is something to complain about. losing 16lbs a month is not.
fact remains that lately there has been a rash of b*tch sessions (mostly from women... conclude from that what you will) about not losing weight fast enough even though they are losing at the rate of 15-20lbs per month. likely because they cruise these forums and see 400+lb men who lose 25-30lbs in their first few months and greedily want the same.

Man, I feel your pain! I also have PCOS and lost soooo slooowww in the beginning. I think I lost basically what you did! then by month 4, I picked up to about 20 pounds a month, sometimes a little over. I have never in all these months come close to losing 30 pounds in one month. And yet... 8 months and two days post op and I've lost 141 since surgery, averaging 17 pounds a month. It ain't over till it's over! And it really does all add up and even out in the end. Don't get discouraged and bogged down by the negative, it's bad for your health.
Seriously though. Don't even worry about it. You have no idea what's around the corner, and in a year you'll think you were being silly about this. I know I definitely do!

One of the most amazing things for me is my menopause hot flashes and night sweats have dramatically decreased since my RNY!! I had a complete hysterectomy including ovaries in October and went in to immediate surgical menopause.. What a horrific experience. I had no idea it would be so hard and because I had cancer and a blood clotting disorder I could take NO hrt no hormones whatsoever not even bio identicals . Needless to say I was suffering miserably.. But since my surgery on May 21 my hot flashes are down from like 100 to 1-2 a day and night sweats which caused me to not sleep more than an hour have lessened so much I actually slept 5 straight hours!!!!! I haven't slept more than 2 since October!! What a blessing I just pray it continues lol anyone else have this happen???

Great job! I'm in the "best decision ever" category too. I had my revision surgery on May 27 and I'm down 50 pounds in just barely 3 months. Best I've felt in years. We are leaving for vacation on Saturday and even though I didn't want to buy anything new, I had to get a couple of new bathing suits because my old ones looked RIDICULOUS! Even the ones in the "right size" were so stretched out I couldn't go out in public with them.
My surgery and recovery were not easy. I spent a good month to 6 weeks asking why I did this to myself. But, once everything was healed and I started to feel better, I turned the corner.

Excellent post! I think the hardest part about a stall, if you've been doing everything right, is accepting that it's out of your control and letting go.

I was 6 weeks in and only lost 8lbs between my 2 week post op appointment and my 6 week. Devastated to say the least. The nurse practitioner was happy about it and looking at the overall picture that I've lost 41 lbs since pre op diet. Made me feel okay, but couldn't help but still beat myself up. Then I met with my NUT and going over what I'm eating she was like yeah you need to eat more even if it's a couple of bites because your body is in starvation mode, so I started eating more and the weight started coming off again. Use your stall as motivation evaluate what you're eating (or in my case not eating) and see what you can do to break that stall!

    Hi all!
After 3 years of suffering with my band, today with my first visit with a new doctor I already have a surgery day! I thought I was going to have to fight tooth and nail to get a revision, I can't believe how fast this process went.
My surgery day is April 5th 2017. Now I have to quit smoking and lose 7lbs. My insurance required 1 month of a weight check in but I have 6 month worth of documented check ins from within the last 12 months.
I am getting a band to bypass revision and now I am on to educating myself more about the bypass. Any tips, food suggestions or any other advise is GREATLY appreciated!
