  1. Great story Coops! So there girl! Believe it! I'm on TV again tonight. Local PBS fundraising art auction. I'm working with a really fun and cool guy, so the time should fly! I get nervous before hand, but after I open up my mouth and begin to talk, its all over. Try to shut me up! Can I tell you how HAPPY I am that I have lost the weight! It would be an entirely different story if I was still 85 pounds heavier! It really helps my confidence.
  2. What a stunning dress! You make it look even better! You look fantastic!
  3. Have a great dress fitting today! Don't have a happiness stall!
  4. I get ESA chocolate fudge(pre mixed), mix with a cup of strong decaf and ice. I drink this for breakfast on fast days. Honestly, I keep adding ice and it lasts through lunch. 100 cals, 4 gms carb, 17 gms pro. Target Sometimes I mix in a few drops of peanut butter or coconut extract.
  5. I have a tattoo on my left inside arm in Tibetanized Sanskrit!
  6. Laura-ven! Don't talk about my jowls that way!
  7. Looking good Laura! did you know that Welsh and Sanskrit are related languages?
  8. Good luck ladies! Keep in mind that Georgia is the wonder woman of losing! But others who are super slow and long stall losers (like me) are also losing on the 5:2. If you use it, the weight will come off. Most of us using it do keep the calories down on feast days as well... not to TDEE, so maybe 1100-1600 range for most. It also offers flexibility for celebration for off days, and maintenance. Keep us informed! We can be your cheerleaders if you like.
  9. Whatever you eat, log it in MFP. It really helps it to be real and not just a birthday cake slice and a handful on nuts.... Like Georgia said somewhere else, the holidays are coming up, its time to get down to business. If you want to have some harmless food celebration time, its time to get a hold of whats going in your mouth now. Im talking to me as well! I find sugar free gum, sugar free mints and planed snacks and deserts work best for me. And writing everything down. The good the bad and the ugly! If I don't go over calories... even if its crap food, I don't do that much damage. I may stall because it take more water to store sugars than proteins in the body.... but that can come off fast if I eat right and drink all my water. Good luck girls! Don't give up!
  10. US supermarkets are super crazy! I try to wear blinders and just go the the sections that I need to buy from...but at some point a little voices speaks up 'TIME TO GET OUT OF HERE!" fast a little over yesterday, but all OK, weight stayed the same... .5 pound from WLS low. Onward!
  11. ONLY 89 Pounds?! Do you hear yourself? That is freaking fantastic, add that to what you lost before, and it is even better! You had a lot to lose, and two-three years is NOT too slow to lose it. I am at 2 1/2 years, have not gotten to goal, and do not consider myself a failier. I will get to goal, probably soon, I had less to lose than you. You can do it. Its just a lifetime of work, getting to goal is just a small part of it. You are only a failier if you completely throw your hands up and quit. Some swear by eating more, and lifting weights, some swear by eating less and exercising or not. The best investment you can make is in dumping the negative talk, give yourself some positive affirmations or something that works for you... and stay in the game, no mater how long it takes.Lat year I gained 22 pounds by not paying enough attention to what I was doing. Then, earlier this year I also tried the eat more route, and gained 6 pounds... freaked me right out... I then used the Southbeach phase one... lost the 6 pounds I had gained... then started on the 5:2... have lost 16 pounds in 13 weeks, which I am ecstatic about. I am back to where I was before I gained the 22. I am 5 pounds from goal, 34 months from surgery. I have learned a LOT. I did not lose fast, but I think I have enough info to maybe keep it off this time. That is the hard part. You have done great, and you need to feel good about it, love yourself girl. You have come a long way, and stand a good chance of getting to goal, if you don't give up, and adapt as you go along.
  12. You are only 7 months out. Who cares if its slow! It will feel just as sweet whenever you get there... you have not stopped losing and you are only 14 pounds away. I say, chill out and keep doing what you are doing. Too early to freak.
  13. That is so amazing Jane! And really, count that 332 girl! Its one long journey, not just the sleeve. You can be very proud. I am certainly proud of you!
  14. Georgia, thanks for the pep talk! I know that holiday season is so tempting! OD, when you see a post you want to comment on, press the multiquote button in the lower right hand side... you can use it multiple times if you like. Then when you are at the end of the thread, push the black "tag" that forms in the lower right side of the screen and all those posts will dump directly int your compose window and you can answer them there.
  15. ... or is it 26 pounds in a year? This is the vets forum..... What are you eating? How much? Exercise? Do you log what you eat in MFP? Some people are really slow losers... I was pretty slow.... and had many stalls. After 2 1/2 years I have not gotten to goal but am close and will get there.
  16. I so agree OD! It just keeps working and is rarely a burden to follow. I have to keep reminding myself that the main benefit of this WOE is longevity and lower risk of cancers and dementia! Weight loss is just a side effect.
  17. You can do it OD! I'm fasting today. My low weight stuck so feeling really good going into my day. Also, My sleeve restriction was really good on dinner last night. Funny how sometimes the lil' tummy really kicks in.
  18. Looking up I-Theanine, it is also an umami source!... it is in the glutamine family...so I might add it to my soup to improve the taste... ... I can't tolerate caffein much at all... One thing I was hoping is when I get a caffein response from chocolate or black tea, or an accidental dose of coffee...the I-theanine might mitigate it....I just ordered some... so I will report back!
  19. what is the recommended dose/timing?
  20. June 11 2013- 190.9 Sept 18 2013- 174.5 down 16.3 15 weeks includes 2 vacation weeks, visitors, and a couple of parties. I am now .5 pounds from having all my regain gone (goal #1)
