Glad to see some of you gals back around, don't be strangers! I hope globe checks in soon. I had a crazy day, ate over 1700 cals... of mostly crap at that... but back on board in the morning. Sometimes things just can't be helped.

One Year Surgiversary....
Maybe my fears are unfounded, but i feel like if I'm not ready to adopt a lifestyle change forever, I don't want to use it to lose with it... Im afraid I will lose, then drop the hard work, then gain weight or the old shape back (from experience for sure) I have made the changes to get where I am now... pretty close to goal, and hope I will slowly glide into goal... where I can maintain with my current changes. We will see about that in time I guess!

How was your 5:2 day today?
..supposed to fast today... will do my regular morning routine... protein coffee... but my dad called at 2AM (something was on his mind to do that!) ...and needs a ride to Oakland (around 90 miles), drs appointment in the morning... so my sched will be thrown off...lunch out.. may end up doing damage control tomorrow.... I know this can work from the past, but makes me a little nervous. I have only been holding this weight for maybe 12 days, but it feels like a stall... which really, its not.

One Year Surgiversary....
^^^what they said!^^^^ You are doing great, the speed of the loss gets slower for most of us. Do not compair your loss to others who are speedy! Your journey is yours alone. Read the Vets forums, and see the many ways success looks! Many of us are still losing after 2-3 years. Some of us are using the 5:2 way of eating which is helping. Its not for everyone, but check it out. I am 33 months out and 5 pounds from goal. I will get there, S-L-O-W-L-Y. Maybe by next year! Who cares, when I get there I will be very happy to be there. Just as happy as if I had lost it in 8 months. You will too! Lots to learn along the way.

Almost 9 months out. Opinions on going back on a full protein shake diet for a few weeks?
I still use shakes two or three times a week, but think real varied food is always best. I try and eat food that I want to eat after goal as well, just a little less until I get there. You have to do what you think is best, but you are so close to goal, why eat artificially to get there? It may take you a few weeks longer eating real whole food....

Maintenance
Congratulations! Im not really at maintinance yet, but hear adding good fats and carbs is the way to go. Nuts, avocado, olives and such....

I get a little bit of "thigh gap" when I wear skinny jeans (might as well be a body shaper!)... I do think how you stand makes a difference.

Sounds like a good idea to me! My weight watchers scale. I don't think calipers work very well on lose skin... We want pics! Ideal-Body-Fat-Percentage-Chart3.jpg

Where do I stop...goal weight related....
Just measured my body fat this morning... 29.3....Thats in the ideal range for a 51yo, and I'm 60!..... I would still like to get it down a bit more... but happy face! Still want to lose around 5 or so pounds, all fat of course.

How was your 5:2 day today?
Laura! Thats fantastic! I was the same today, which is good. There was a big party at school today, I did have some "snacks" but the damage is not to bad. Hey Laura, do I remember you saying you went Kayaking at Elkhorn Slough a while back? I am planning a kayak/birding trip in a couple of weeks and am thinking about Elkhorn as a possability... the other being Mono lake and surrounds....I'm buying a kayak tomorrow! I had better use it!

I usually only use them on fast days, rarely others, the cost just adds up a little fast for my wallet! I think they might be good to make ice cream out of..... Looked up bolthouse, looks good! What ones do you use? If you stay at 211, averaged out with what I ate today, we both came in at around 500! .... cActually, I came in at 100 over my goal... Darned sweet tooth!

Me neither....

How was your 5:2 day today?
I try not to go too far over a buck a serving... for pre-mixed these are pretty cheap. I like to throw them into my purse when I am going out of town or somewhere I may need a snack or some added Protein. I like them for coffee, because I don't find powders creamy enough without milk...which hikes up the cals and carbs.
