  1. Welcome to the inner sanctum! You have done so well, I know those last pounds can really be a challange! I still have 5 pounds to goal after almost 3 years of working on it . We can do it!
  2. I keep adding ice. I think thats what stretches it out.
  3. Fasting today too... alls well. Was at 174.5 AGAIN. Been there every day with a little bounce here and there for a week (seems like a month!) I sure would like to see a new number.... lower of course. 1 more pound would put me lower than I was at my lowest post WLS. So close!
  4. I believe you can see the documentary here that started the 5:2 http://leangainsguide.com/diet/igf-1-and-fasting/
  5. Yep. Thats the brand. I also sometimes drop in some other flavor extract to mix it up. peanut butter,or cocoanut are my faves right now...I usually put about half of it in an ice coffee for breakfast, then the other half for lunch on fast days... or you can put it into not-too-hot coffee as well.
  6. Take it easy, its too early to see what will happen. Enjoy your life, and eat well. Follow the plan.
  7. Jane, the 5:2 is supposed to help with repair in the body, so I would say do it if you can keep your mind wrapped around it!
  8. thats normal. Its from the IV and swelling. I think she was asking if you had gained weight much later in the process.... closer to goal....
  9. So sorry for your loss.... thats tough.... yes I do M2G, its a great job, but now and then.....yuck!
  10. Way to go ladies! I missed my usual walk because i sat in PEE! A students. I had to go home to change and missed our walk! Hahaha! What a job!
  11. Went over by about 100.... sunflower seeds! Well, could have been worse. I need to pull it in if I want to get the last 5 pounds off!
  12. sometimes I get hiccups 4-5 times when Im full. Belching has to do with swallowing air doesn't it?...which is really easy with drinking water.
  13. Medium fish in a little pond.
  14. It helps me to make a plan for the day. Even three days to help get through the time. I write down what Im going to eat, include things I can look forward to. When I have the urge to eat, I know I have a snack coming up, and that helps keep me on track. I plan deserts at the end of most days. SF pudding or whatever. It really keeps me from eating something else when I know I have a treat built into the day.
  15. ^^^^like they said!^^^^^^ TOUGH LOVE OK, you know what you did to gain weight, you know what you did to lose it. The sleeve makes it easier, but you still have to do the work. I would at least make sure you write everything down that you eat... and If you start living like you did when you were heavier, you will become that. One week is a small slip. I have been there. I have gained 22 pounds when I wasn't looking!(over months)...and believe me, you don't want to wake up one day and have that under your belt! (so to speak... ) You are at 4.5 months, and you are still in the honeymoon. After the honeymoon things get a little or a lot harder. To maintain for some of us, to get to goal, to lose the regain... This time is the easiest for most to lose the weight, so don't miss this window of opportunity. You feel better now because of all the things you have just given up. You have done really well so far, and its time to dig deep and figure out what you need to do to build a stronger foundation to support your new life. YOU CAN DO IT! Write yourself notes, keep a diary, use MFP, have a back up plan for the gym, put Vitamins and Water and Protein on a checklist on your mirror. Whatever works for you... don't forget to feel happy that you have to do these things.... they are adding quality and years to your life.
  16. This is a dorky pic my hub took of me from the computer... no footage saved of the auction....
  17. The biggest and best benefit of the 5:2 is the life extension properties. Read up, it is pretty amazing! Weight loss is way down there on the list... as attractive as it is.
  18. It is supposed to be good to exercise on fast days. The 5:2 burns more fat than some other plans. When you exercise while fasting, your body more easily uses fat stores than glycogen. Thats a good thing! Helps burn belly and visceral fat! I know not all people do it, but I eat back some of my exercise calories on feast days. Whatever MFP/fitbit will give me. No exercise, 1200 calories. Exercise, up to 1500 calories. I like the 1500 calories best! I do not eat them back on fast days.
  19. I try to keep it over 12 hours on each end of the fast day. The following 9 hours I only have low/no carb something until dinner, like ESA protein drink in my coffee. This seems to work. If you read the 5:2 book, they show there are different ways to do it. 18 hours of nothing is just one of them. The fast time includes the food time on fast days. So, if you stop eating at 8pm one feast night, you are "fasting" through the next day until breakfast on the third day. This is called the 36 hour plan if I remember correctly. The idea is only 500 cals in period of time from 8PM or so on one night through the next day until breakfast on the day after that..... broken up however works best for you... if you need breakfast, fine, if you want three mini meals, fine, dinner only, fine.
  20. You are doing fine maintaining where you are at... so I would say eat like you do now for feast days, and split op the 500 cals on fast days however you like. I have a low carb Protein drink spread out over breakfast and lunch, then use up the 400 cals on a low carb dinner. I do not eat low carb on feast days. eat around 1150-1500 cals medium carb.
  21. Lactose intolerance maybe? I had it the first 4 months or so, then got over it.
  22. So sad! The smoking really makes it hard for the body to heal.
  23. Welcome! Most fast days I am so happy to be eating that way. Like today. I just feel like I could us a little discipline to pull me back into the right direction....and fast day does that for me.
  24. ^^^^^^ like she says^^^^^^^
