How was your 5:2 day today?
'Never trust a fart" wise words to live by. although you would certainly like trust a fart, sometimes they are sneaky! I am so jealous! I would love to have a personal trainer, maybe sometime... I did go to a sports physical therapist last year, and he gave me some advice... loved that! Where you going for vaycay? Hope you have a great time! So I am now one pound from the high end of my goal bounce range. MFP was reset, and I had the choice of 1100 or 1310 calories a day... I want back to 1200! Anyway I don't want to go as low as 1100, so I picked 1310... and will see how it goes. I can always eat less. I will make this goal by xmas yet!

3 years ago today I had the VSG...
Cathy, according to that chart I am not only healthy, I am back in the 40-49 year old range(Im 60). I'm young again! even though I am still in the overweight range in the "one size fits all" charts, I know I am in the healthy range right now. If I lose any more weight (shooting for 2-8 more) Its mostly for vanity and bounce insurance at this point.

random musings from a really bored woman...lol
LoL Considering the common old world definition of "fanny" Its only appropriated that you sleep with it.

Putting weight on
During this process I taught myself to weight and not be pushed around by the number (most of the time) I try not to feel high or low from what I see on the scale... its not a reflection of my worth, only my weight. I have to weigh to stay in charge. It only takes a second to weight...much longer to undo the damage caused by not knowing for sure. I used to hate being tied to the scale, I'm over that now.

Putting weight on
It can creep up when you turn your back, so don't turn your back on it! I gained 16 while my back was turned, then 6 more when I tried to lose it.... finally found a plan that worked and am down below the 22 gained, it took me WAYYYY longer to lose it than it did to gain it, so keep an eye pealed, and get back on track, you can do it!

random musings from a really bored woman...lol
Jane, I used to live in a 1000sf storefront with 20 foot ceilings. (artist live/work... in the hood) I had a couch set up at one end, and a target practice area set up 35 feet away at the other... with little googlie jigs that would spin when you hit them, and paper targets that were bulls eyes and the outlines of "criminals". I would lay on the couch, and steady the old daisy BB rifle on my knees and shoot away. I also had a hand held pump action pellet gun... it was a blast! I am definitely a "make love not war" type, and gave away my real gun (a pearl handled 22long derringer) early on, but hand eye coordination is a great pass time! May I suggest the next step up is to channel Hugh Hefner, get a smoking Jacket, a pipe and some of those velvet slippers with the gold tassels on them.... Now that might even pass at the wedding!

Sleeved 3 years ago today...how did I celebrate?

How was your 5:2 day today?
...so you can live a lot longer and live more days like this, and learn to be an old wise woman who still rides a mountain bike! Laura, I have a DD student who is very bright, but has the habit of beating himself up over any angry outbursts or other "weakness" he might have. Now, after so many years doing this, he has something he asks me at some point in his post beat up recovery..."I am creating my own nightmare, aren't I?" And just like that, he moves on and remembers that there are still flowers, and girls and dancing and whatever else he loves in life. I try and take a lesson from him. Its hard to see that the nightmare is self created. Big congrats! I will be there with you January 18th. Just think, the time could have passed without the sleeve, and where would we be now? For all the difficulties, I know in my heart I would weight at least 90 pounds more than I do now.

What did Brown eat today?
I have not been a sporty person.... but slowly have made myself into one more... I have been adding an activity or two that I love over the last 5 years... I take belly dance class twice a week...walk with adults with disabilities twice a week, (and get paid for it...) I started bird watching, and hike a couple of times a week by myself or with Audubon field trips....I really had to find things I would do anyway, even if they were not exercise! I love the company, and the solitude, and slowly, it has changed the way my body looks and my mental state as well! Is there something you have always wanted to try? Something you did as a young woman that you regret giving up? Something you can do with the kids or other family? I had to get unstuck from the idea that anything but the gym or conventional exercise was not real exercise....

How was your 5:2 day today?
....Rittersport stares at me from the checkout line in Trader Joes.... Brown, so glad you beat the 3 pounds, I had a pretty good fast yesterday, did munch some crackers at the end of the day that added around 100 cals, but woke up to a .9 loss. I'll take it. That puts me two pounds from goal. Someday!....soon! I made myself a giant bowl of egg drop white pepper soup last night... so good... cabbage, carrots, fake chicken broth, one egg for the shreds, cilantro, white pepper, a dash of soy, some corn starch to thicken, and a little sesame oil for that nutty flavor. It was so good, will make again. Good morning everyone else! Have a great day!

Need Advice Please!
Sorry you are in a stressful part of life right now. Its good to have a backup plan for when things like this come up... I plan snacks first thing in the morning (for the rest of the day) This helps me to have food comfort when I need it, planned and healthy, as part of my day. I know its best to just say no, but sometimes that is really hard to do. Cut up some carrots and other veggies with hummus in the fridge, buy some SF puddings or jellos with coolwhip, and plan them into your day. Then do the hard work, counseling? Time talking with friends, journaling, reading self help, getting the information you need in the situation you are in.... Exercise, fresh air, nature, a good book.....one day at a time. Do keep track of what you are eating... even if you don't like what you see on the list. Best of luck!

Men vs Women
Thats one of the reasons I started taking dance class, then got the sleeve... I could just see myself in a wheelchair or Lark! I just had too much life to still live to do that before my time! I also like exercise because it changes the way your body looks... like you say, not that many calories, but better lines and feel better generally.

weird feeling
Don't let it go too long without having a doc check it out. Do you take acid blockers?

How was your 5:2 day today?
Daisy, breakups are the hardest, but its even harder to stay with the wrong one. You did what you needed to. I just want to eat around relationship confront too. It will get better. I gave myself permission to eat a couple of hundred calories extra today, I have not done it ...yet, but it made me feel better just having permission to do it if I wanted to. Head trips!

Time to board the plane... will be keeping you all posted!
....oh, and I also dance twice a week, walk 2-3 miles at least three times a week, garden, ride my bike some most weeks.....Just got a kayak..... I am changing myself into more of a mover, and less of a sitter.

I need help, feeling unsuccessful!
I would have to agree.... It sounds like you might be eating lots of sliders, and this will help you gain weight, or at least not lose.... Getting a clean diet in place will be the restart you need.... protein first, plenty of water....not while your eating....
