Just putting it out there, so 'dirty' little secrets may see the light of day!
I eat everything, and have paid time and time again for doing it. I'm working with moderation.... not always with a small m! How about a tiny little nicey nicey fat free/sugar free frozen soft serve yogurt.... with a giant glob of real hot fudge with almonds on top? I remember licking potato chips at about three weeks out.... I too, eat 2nd class and track on MFP. (TGF the sleeve!!)

CHEAP SF Torani Syrup!
Thats good, I buy mine at Smart and Final, $4.99 ...or less if you buy 6 at a time. (mixed is fine)

I used the 5:2....You can do it! Protein first, no Water with meals, and get moving girl.... and oh yes... hang out here for support! So true!

But sometimes you have to post a pic! This is my dance class.... dress up day! ....i have "tattoos" on my face, and look like I am missing my teeth or something in this photo~ dork! It is so much fun.... dancing tonight and on friday.- How was your 5:2 day today?
Developing the strength to get back on the 5:2 in the face of: "I already missed a fast, Ill just miss one more and get back later" "I"ll start new on monday"... "I don't feel like it today".... dinner dates, visiting guest dinners at home, illness, vacations, holiday season..... is so vital! It seems the body forgives these events if we get back to following the plan pretty soon. I know in the pre-sleeve days (and part of the sleeve days too!) Those kinds of events threw me off the track of the many diet plans I was following... mostly terminally. Then I would go looking for a new plan where I was not "tempted" to quit. The sleeve really helps slow that process of regain down enough to get back on plan without as much damage. And the 5:2 helps even more my normalizing our feast days better than some other plans. The more/quicker we get back to fast day after deviations, the more this will be the habit, The more this will be normal life. Good work getting back on that 5:2 and your workout day! Also, I'm old and don't text that much, what is FWB? I guessing some kind of Bootie call?.....Friend with benefits? got it.....- Questions for those of you longer term sleevers
For me, the loss and gain cycle were such a fragile thing (not quite as much now, but yes, it could be) Injury, long term guests-change in company, travel, emotional cycling... after I had gained the 16 pounds (factors were the above) I started doing things "right" back on the scale, writing all food down, and gained 6 more pounds. I was trying different eating plans, looking for something that would work...the first being TDEE eating with added weight lifting... thats where i gained the 6 pounds, freaked out and then tried phase one Southbeach... I lost 4-5 pounds there, not quickly.... then I started the 5:2 and finally got the numbers going in the right direction again....it also took staying away from the gym for 4 months, going to sports medicine docs and physical therapests for a while to get me back to the gym.... I find I am doing OK with a week or 10 days of "vacation" eating patterns, with a reduced fasting sched, and back on the wagon right away... Thank goodness!!!!! but it has been a very fragile thing, this weight loss........- movin' and groovin'
We can use this one... I walked today, 3.13 miles. I know thats not as much as is recommended, (closer to 5 miles-10,000 steps) but it seems to work for me. I do that much about 3 sometimes 4 times a week. I go with a group on tuesdays and thursdays from my day program. About 7-11 of us go walking in the neighborhood, sometimes to a nearby mall, sometimes I make them birdwatch!- Almost 9 months out. Opinions on going back on a full protein shake diet for a few weeks?
Congratulations! That is so great to hear. I just hit goal today... and won't mind if I lose 5 as well... feels great huh?!- starting bad habits
I really don't recommend it to people under a year out. You can see the program that started it all here: http://leangainsguide.com/diet/igf-1-and-fasting/- How was your 5:2 day today?
I am definitely colder now, and really like it. I hate being hot. I would much rather put on another layer than take on off! Now I am more of a snuggler!- starting bad habits
I use the 5:2 method... but if what you are doing is working, I say stay with it! Later on down the road if things slow down or stop before you want them to, check into the 5:2. Its a two day a week reduced calorie fast (500cals) regular eating the other days (I eat around 1200-1500 a day on the normal days) I have gotten off over 20 pounds that way.- How was your 5:2 day today?
Drum roll!!! I am now (at this very minute, cant speak for tomorrow...) below 170... that has been my long term goal. Chocolate chips and all! Im still not "normal" on the one sized fits all bmi charts, but really close. Im planning on creating a good bounce range so I should be able to get there some time! Anyway, happy dance! I must be on the same wave length... I took one cup of pumpkin, two egg whites and some torrani SF brown sugar and cinnamon syrup, ground ginger, nutmeg and salt, poured it into a large pam sprayed cup, covered and microwaved about 5 minutes.... giant single serving of pumpkin "pie" I drained it a bit, its wattery, I topped with chopped walnuts and cool whip free.... breakfast. Something about November shouts pumpkin! You can always make a pumpkin "mug cake" and freeze the rest of the pumpkin....- How was your 5:2 day today?
I went over by about 140 cals..... bad Kim!!! But I'll take it and move along! Chocolate chips just have my number!- Anyone do great with the band and not the sleeve ?
Look up the "three week stall" Many get it. Mine lasted for over 3 weeks at started about 2 1/2 weeks out. Just do what your doing, and your body will start to let go again.- starting bad habits
We all have bumps in the road, and practicing getting over them will make us strong into the future. When we get to goal, we are really just starting the rest of the process, which lasts a lifetime! You guys are doing great, coming here and talking it out and getting advice. The friends I have made here have helped me so much over the last 3 years. I still have about 2 pounds to get to goal after all this time, and I know I will get there soon. The setbacks I have had, and worked through, have given me strength to keep on going, and doing what I need to do to stay on track through maintenance. One step at a time. Like someone here said earlier, one day at a time. I actually gained 22 pounds at one point after surgery, and have finally gotten it all off. We can do it. Best of luck to you all.- I'll show you mine... (LBD's)
Pictures!- How was your 5:2 day today?
Fasting today... using a vanilla protein drink in some iced Thai tea for my get along until dinner. Hey, you see this yet? Not so sure I like this idea at all! http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/forum-352/announcement-23-exciting-new-changes-are-coming-to-verticalsleevetalk/- How was your 5:2 day today?
Goat cheese bricks... the Tibetans eat a version those too, made from Nak milk (the Yak is the male)... they take them with when they cross the Himalaya on foot! You can buy them strung on Yak hair. Theres a rural snack for ya! They suck on them. Sounds like it might be good in soup!- How was your 5:2 day today?
I have the 5:2 thread page bookmarked and never have problems getting on, don't have to search or log in or anything...- How was your 5:2 day today?
I believe we all have some gift we can bring to the rest of the world... something we learn from our unique perspective. I work in a field where people have brain damage, gene disorders and other syndromes... if given half a chance, they bring something bright and insightful to those of us who work there, and beyond through their art and creative activities. You, being who you are, have something to give to the world, it is not diminished by your new found illness, it is only informed by it. Are challenges there? Of course. This is the heros adventure... to bring something back of value to your people, in the face of difficulty and distraction. Thats how I try to look at life anyway, and it brings me strength. One step in front of the other sister! Find a class you like, its a great start! OK, so you know how I said I had gained almost 5 pounds (in about 3 days...?) Well, I dusted myself off and did a fast yesterday. This morning I was down 3 1/2 of them. I used to bounce a lot, but not for almost a year, so that 4+ pounds was a shocker. I pee'd my brains out yesterday, and keep on drinking water, and I guess that was it... water weight. Im now .8 pounds from my post 5:2 lowest. Back on track. I also have spent some time getting organized, finishing some promises I had made to others, and setting up a new projects program on my computer so I should better manage some things I have to get done. I also have been thinking about what I WANT to get done, what I dream to get done, my goals and pourpous. Its long overdue, and such a powerful way to get yourself back. I'm feeling a little better. I reset myfitnesspal to show cholesterol...and saturated fats, so I can get on top of that... Moving along. Have a nice sunday ladies. - movin' and groovin'
