1. I got the call, I need to show up for check-in at 4:30 AM on tuesday Jan 18th 2010 for 6:30 AM surgery prep. They expect me to be done and out of recovery by around 2PM. The recomended I write down any questions I want answers to, because its so busy then, its easy to forget what they are. They said wear comfortable cloths, and shoes. They said don't bring anything. Have your support person bring your bag later if you need anything. No nail polish on fingers...toes are OK, no deodorant, no perfume or lotions, no makeup, no jewelry, take any piercings out. They will cut off any rings you are wearing if you cant get them off. Take a shower/bath before you show up. Nothing to drink or eat after midnight. I am on a liquid diet for two days before. You will be informed what meds you can take in the AM before surgery. No Vit E.

 2. Coco! Very direct and heartfelt! I think this might just sum up how I will feel too. Food is my best friend in a way. I am isolated too. But this is an oppertunity to make more of your life! You don't want to have food as your best friend do you really? An acquaintance maybe... Time to take a class, learn how to paint or knit or sew or join a nature hiking club, or a dance class...learn how to use a new program on the computer, get a guitar.... what are your dreams from childhood? Its time to go for it. It is not easy to learn new skills, but after putting in the time, they get better, and you have stepped in an started creating a new you on the inside! Over two years ago I started taking bellydancing classes... when I was 50years old! Im still taking them, have meet a bunch of great gals and am getting a bit fit too. I still cant dance very well, but Im getting better and better. Im hoping when I get some weight off I can even do more. I love it!
