    Maybe a late stage complication?

I am prescribed an aspirin a day. One regular. I try to eat something around the same time. I choose an intaric (not sure of spelling...) coating... How much do you consider high dose? I have been doing this with the sleeve from the beginning 5 years ago.

So nice to hear from all you ladies! So sorry for your loss Denise... Sometimes life is so hard to take. I have to say, Coops, you look darling in those photos! Sheryl! Glam! You don't look too thin, you look just right. Georgia, you are an inspiration to me. I was going to start 5:2 again on thursday, but just couldn't wait so fasted yesterday and kept it under 1300 cals today with some good exercise as well. I am way up and it is SO easy for me to gain right now. I need to lose close to 30 pounds if I want to back at the old low. I just don't feel that "normal" feeling any more... I know I still weight less than I used to.... but.... anyway... I'm back on track, and so happy to have your company ladies! Cathy, you are such a great support here, I really appreciate you.

    Vegetarians

Whey is lactose free... or find pea or soy or hemp protein powders. I couldn't eat salad for many months, but now can eat anything. Raw was not easy early on... even dairy was not well tolerated the first couple of months. Mashed beans and veggie cheese. Sometimes your taste budds are really off early on, you must get in your protein anyway... treat it like a medicine if you have to. Buy sample sizes if you can find them to try out.

How was your 5:2 day today?

Hurray! I managed to catch up with the posts. Now I know about your thigh Sheryl, Cathy, Denise, Sheryl and Coops doing 5:2 again..... I will join you on thursday. I am out of town for a few days, and can make a fresh start after I get back. And am waiting to hear about Coops Disney voyage. Cathy, I am so glad you had the chance to visit with Mom. I think about my mom every day too.... just little things I would like to share with her, and such. I am so grateful that I had such a great mom in my life, I just let that thought smooth out the moments I miss her. I have been lucky. Dad and I get along well too, we didn't connect for years, but as we both get older, it has gotten better, and I think in some ways I'm his best friend. I hope that Florinda is doing well... she is a mercurial gal, with dramatic ups and downs... not easy for her I'm sure. NIce to see Georgia here too! We tough base on Facebook sometimes, nice to see her there. I'm looking forward to joining you guys in the 5:2... I could use some support to get back on track. Well, Ill report from Birdwatching this weekend... nature is grand!

    Vegetarians

Yep. Lots of choices for Veggies. Just keep track and make sure you are eating enough protein. If you eat eggs and dairy, gluten and soy, you really have a lot of choices. Nuts and beans too.... As a veggie, you can still eats loads of junk and sliders, so just keep on top of that, and everything should be ok. Make sure you take your B Vitamins.

How was your 5:2 day today?

Hi guys... its your long lost sis from California! Going well on this end. Still riding the bike, and made my first solo ride today. I went into town and to the Crocker art museum. Saw a couple of good shows, turned around and rode home. Proud of myself. I get so scared-y-cat the whole morning before I go riding. Clears up pretty good when Im on the bike though. So when I got on our thread this time, I knew I would have PAGES to read to catch up, but for some reason when I tried to go backwards from this page, I would go back to July 2013. I tried it a couple of times and same thing. So I am in the dark about whats up with you guys. Sheryl.... Thigh? Guess I will just jump in and start fresh. Craig is in New Zealand... its kind of nice to be on my own for a while. I get a chance to remember who I am without him. Just do my own thing, how I drive, clean, shop, spend time doing what I want and such. Just this week I was invited to be in two art shows in LA. Should be fun. Means I need to get down to work on the painting.... I've been so busy with the bike and work.... It will be nice to get back in a groove painting. I seem to have stabilized at around 25 pounds up.... at least Im still 60 down. I have been doing the pouch test thing, and lost 2 of it... been keeping under 1100 cals a day on most days this week... and think I will get back into the 5:2 after I get the carb monster a little bit more under control. Feeling optimistic. Anyway, back in the pack. Nice to see you guys are still here! Happy Valentines Day All!

How was your 5:2 day today?

HI all, and hi Sheila! NIce to hear from you. I'm up up and up! Up 29 pounds. Feeling and looking fat, but still down 60 so what can i say. Craig finally is working to lose a few and get in better shape, so my partner in crime is makeing it easier to do the right thing. We just started what we call a WWF Yoga program, and I still dance twice a week. I am back on the streight and narrow.... 1200 a day on myfitnesspal. I have lost 2 pounds so far, its a start. I also have been learning how to ride a motorcycle for the past 2 1/2 months. I have a bike, and Craig and I are planning to ride to the Arctic Circle Starting at the end of July . I will have to see if I am good enough to do that..... I went on a 170 mile ride last weekend.... only dropped the bike twice and almost got creamed by a car on a country road. I get so nervous when I start my rides, but usually get on top of that within a few miles. I am doing OK I think, but still don't know if I will get to LOVE it enough to do the longer trips. Its not really good for bird or wildlife watching. I steer where I look, and looking in the filed next door means I run off into the field! We will see about that. Its been very cold for here, and it never got over 49 degrees the whole day. Blue fingernails!

How was your 5:2 day today?

HI all! Nice to catch up with all the news. I am doing well... pretty much ignoring my weight and eating habits... not good, but turning this huge ship takes a lot of time... anyway, still taking the bike out for our weekly ride and practice. Mostly the river roads, levee riding. I am submitting some work for an art show I have been in a few times. Its very competitive, over 10,000 people apply each year for around 250 spots on the wall. I did not apply last year, and hope I am still on the "It" list this time. I have been invited to hang some work at this years Edwardian Ball in San Francisco, its the best party I have ever attended. Looking forward to that. I think I posted pics here two years ago when I was included in that show.... Craig is going to New Zealand for 4 weeks in Feb... I will have some quite time here, which is nice once in a while. I am planning on taking a long birdwatching trip with an old friend of mine. That should be nice. Riding to Gray Lodge wildlife refuge on friday the 1st with Craig.... My longest trip yet, around 140 miles round trip. http://www.cawatchablewildlife.org/viewsite.php?site=83&display=q

How was your 5:2 day today?

Mix it with water.... you can even make a drink from it... use some extracts, over the rocks... a splash of juice.... you can eveLook up Shrub. A shrub can also refer to a cocktail or soft drink that was popular during America's colonial era, made by mixing a vinegared syrup with spirits, Water, or carbonated water.[1][4][5] The term "shrub" can also be applied to the sweetened vinegar-based syrup, from which the cocktail is made; the syrup is also known as drinking vinegar.[3][6][7] Drinking vinegar is often infused with fruit juice, herbs and spices for use in mixed drinks.[6][8][9]
  14. I found companies that offered free or low cost sample protein powder. This helped me to get an idea of what I liked. For premixed I like muscle milk low carb.... good in ice coffee in the morning.

How was your 5:2 day today?

Hi! Busy busy.... riding the bike, I dropped it today for the first time... in front of a butt load of bikers.... and managed to break off the tail light of a VERY nice and expensive Ducatti.... ouch! I got off with buying the guy and his friend beer.... I on the other hand was not hurt at all (except my pride) The helmet and all is working good so far! My bike was unharmed. I am not weighing, but I have to say pics of me in the armor look very fat (it is padded and has armor). yikes! Something has to chance soon. Just found out my dear dance teacher has cancer, will be getting chemo, surgery and healing for around a year. I may have to take over the class or better yet share with someone else part of the time.... I am so sad about it.... dear lady friend. She is the healthiest person I know.... fit, eats like a saint.... never speaks poorly of anyone.... Here is a pic of my bike and Craigs new bike on a ride we did friday....

How was your 5:2 day today?

Thanks guys! Same to you. Craig and I went for a bike ride along the river and in town this morning. I made dinner, and kept it pretty clean. Saturday we will get together with the family, and Im sure there will be pie heaven there. Enjoy your weekend all!
  18. Stalls are normal for most people. Stay on track and the scales will move again. 3 weeks is not a deal breaker.... I had several 3 week stalls. Drink your water, keep moving, protein first....
  19. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/849908_1 Probability of an Obese Person Attaining Normal Body Weight: Cohort Study Using Electronic Health Records AbstractObjectives. We examined the probability of an obese person attaining normal body weight. Methods. We drew a sample of individuals aged 20 years and older from the United Kingdom's Clinical Practice Research Datalink from 2004 to 2014. We analyzed data for 76,704 obese men and 99,791 obese women. We excluded participants who received bariatric surgery. We estimated the probability of attaining normal weight or 5% reduction in body weight. Results. During a maximum of 9 years' follow-up, 1283 men and 2245 women attained normal body weight. In simple obesity (body mass index = 30.0–34.9 kg/m2), the annual probability of attaining normal weight was 1 in 210 for men and 1 in 124 for women, increasing to 1 in 1290 for men and 1 in 677 for women with morbid obesity (body mass index = 40.0–44.9 kg/m2). The annual probability of achieving a 5% weight reduction was 1 in 8 for men and 1 in 7 for women with morbid obesity. Conclusions. The probability of attaining normal weight or maintaining weight loss is low. Obesity treatment frameworks grounded in community-based weight management programs may be ineffective. This is only the abstract from a larger article.
