Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
feedyoureye replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Look up the "three week stall" You sound like you are in it. Most have this stall at around 3 weeks. -
1/4 cup of Bobs Red Mill has 100 cals 14 gms of Protein and 11 gms of carbs. When you add egg and milk, it ups the protein even more. Not bad really for the sleeve. I use 1/2 cup mix, with egg and milk and bakeing powder and perhaps some blueberries, it make two large round waffles. I eat one (or half of one early on) and eat the rest on another day.

Question For The Guru Sleevers!
feedyoureye replied to txchickinla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used one a day for the first 12 months, now once in a while when I need more protein and less carbs. I also mix them into greek yogurt for a protein boost. -
I made home made veggie soup early on. It really hit the spot!
-
I use bobs Red Mill low carb mix for waffles and they are very good. Some peoples stomachs do not tolerate breadstuff very well. I don't have that problem. Keep in mind honey is very high in calories and may give you a sugar rush early on. I use sugar free syrup or fruit only jam.

Have a great time, and post pics if you have them! Congrats! -
They have lost weight before in a very public way, and then gained it back to loads of rotten 'I Told You Sos' and covers of before and after fat photos on the tabloids.. My guess is they haven't done it because they are afraid. When they are more afraid of dying early and loaded with diseases from obesity... they WILL get it done.

Top 3 Tips For Success
feedyoureye replied to VSG Barry's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Get out a tape measurer and a pad and pencil... measure yourself in about 8 places NOW. I made a little picture to remind myself where I measured... You will find it handy when the scale is stuck in one place. Measure once a month. Save your biggest fat pants. You will need to take a picture and post it for us of you standing in one leg later on! -

Studies show weight loss surgery often leads to higher rates of broken bones. Take your calcium citrate.

I Can't Do Th Is. I Still Want To Do The Hernia Repair Though.
feedyoureye replied to betterthanbefore's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You gotta do what you gotta do. When I got it in my mind to get surgery, nothing would stop me. It was almost over night for me. Now I have 0 regrets. Its not always that easy, but if/when you ever do get the surgery, you won't regret it. ....I did not want or get surgery for many years before finally changing my mind.... -
When I was in high school I went on a diet and lost 20 pounds. I also followed the advice of "facinating womanhood" this kind of creepy book that gives advice on how to attract men... or make them happy.... I lost the weight and started wearing my moms cloths... in about a week I had two guys ask me to the prom. I cooled off pretty quick to the 'non me" advice of the book, and yep, you guessed it, they retracted the offer. Of course, I wasn't being the real me either... so I guess I cant really blame them.

I def get more attention from guys. I really don't know what to do with it sometimes, I am almost 59 and its been a while sense I have had this much attention! It is the size, but also the confidence. I also dress different. I used to wear black all the time. I LOVED black. I also love color, but when I would put it on, it just made my skin crawl and I had to take it off. Now when I wear black I feel invisible. I guess that says something about why I was wearing it in the first place? I crave color now... and pattern and texture. Its like I DID get brain surgery.

Need Strategies To Deal With 'one Too Many Bites' Syndrome
feedyoureye replied to want2bthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Luckily I get a full feeling before it comes to upchucking....sometimes I hick-up when Im full, or my nose runs. If I feel a little too full, I sometimes sit up really straight, and lift my chest/ribs for a bit, to stretch out my stomach. This usually helps the too full feeling pretty quickly. I get full with less food in the morning, dense protein I get full faster, and sometimes other things make it happen too... pasta for one. I can eat 2 cups of soup or salad/chopped raw veggies.... It must really empty out fast! -

feedyoureye replied to Lauranbob Mc's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
Don't get discouraged, I "surf" the sight, and once you get on a thread you are interested in, she really links up more of the same recipes and such. I find when I just follow the page down, lots of interesting photos and recipes show up. Search for a broad area, such as an ingrediant, or topic like pizza or desert... and you will find what you are looking for.... like this: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2008/06/pizza-ice-cream-party-post-wls-style.html Pizza and ice cream party! -
Omg... No Scale For 4 Days!
feedyoureye replied to favoredone's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Im the same way! My scale stopped working, and I went without for a week... about went nuts. When I finally got another one I had gained 4 pounds! I know part of it was me. but I'm pretty sure the scale weighs me in at least a pound over the last one... and the pattern of my weight fluctuation is completely different on this scale as well. It is supposed to be more accurate than the last, but I seem to stay exactly the same to the 1/10th of a pound for days on end. Oh well! As long as my cloths fit the same or get looser Im good! -

Globe...I have to agree with Coops, there is a point where you have to find serenity.... you are working it as hard as you can, (which is bloody harder than I am I might add) and call it good. You have already transformed what percentage of your personal goal? It must be at least 90%....perhaps your body is trying to tell you something....you might be closer to 100% than you want. Perhaps the workout you need most now is self kindness and gratitude. You ARE good enough now... you always were. -
Calcium Vs. Calcium Citrate

... the Bariatric Advantage Choc chewables but they are like chalk... Are you talking about the giant horse pills about the size of a quarter? They have 500 megs each pill. The wild cherry ones are much better..sort of sweet tart like, but still chalky... if you are worried about the cost... the big bottle of the Bariatric Advantage chewables is the best deal in town. Around $44 for three months worth (270 count). http://www.bariatricadvantage.com/catalog/categoryHandler?cat=Bariatric%20Advantage%20:%20Calcium%20:%20Chewables&expand=1 -
