Dr Oz On Weight Loss Surgery

That should shut some neigh sayers mouths right up!
  3. That sounds horrible! I think the PPI sounds like a good place to start... I'm glad you are going to your Dr, but if he can't find anything, perhaps seek a second opinion? As you know, you have to keep getting your water in... even if it means an IV now and then... dehydration can cause nauseusness....
  4. Let me be frank.... you still have your butt!! I lost mine and really miss it. So jealous ... you look great! 11 kids!!??? How do you do it? I have none and can barely keep my life together....

    Holidays And Food!

I have had a lot of sugar the last week. My weight has popped up a couple of pounds. In reality I was only 1 1/2 pounds over my lowest weight this morning... not 10 pounds like most other years. I can see how easy it has been to snack on all the goodies without any problem... if I kept it up I think i could really see the scales keep moving up up up... Thanks goodness for the sleeve... I left most of my food on the plate and want to be away from the sweets and back to protein and salad soon... get all the junk out. I am going to a party given my my binge party friends tomorrow... I am bringing a bunch of protein finger food... and veggie yummies. I hope this will keep my junk food eating to a minnimum. Plan ahead....write it all down afterward!

    Only At 194

I love my sleeve, and I bet you will too. Your date will be here before you know it! ....some studies show that lower BMI patients have better success with the sleeve then higher....
  7. There are lots of band to sleeve folks on here. Your post name did not say you wanted this, or I think more people would have responded. Try Lil'missdiva, She is a revision, and could refer you to others also.

Are Mashed Potatoes Ok In The Puree Stage?

My Doc said yes. You can add unflavored protein powder if you have some. (just don't add it to very hot food or it will curdle)

The only ones who can truely answer your question are you and your Dr. If you are 80 pounds over with co/morbidities you might qualify... but other health issues might preclude you. Ask your Doc. Good luck with that, and check back in with us for support if you go on that journey.

    Merry Christmas Sleevers!

Happy Holidays all. And a great slim new year!
  11. I just read a thread on here (in the last week) that talked about several cases... I'll see if I can find it again. This is the post I based my comment on. You can contact the posters for more info. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/21296-some-people-are-just-unbelievable/page__fromsearch__1

    Need A Recipe Fast!

    torani sugar free strawberry syrup.
  13. Best of luck to you dear! All those complications are a high price for a size 2! Hope your labs turn out ok and there is a simple answer to your new problems.
  14. I was thinking, if you can't do this for yourself at this time, I would ask a friend or relative over to clean out what you should not eat, help you set up what you can eat in measured serving sizes, and really, they should stay with you for a while until you can get some professional help. People DO die from overeating with the sleeve.
  15. Laura! You look fantastic! Lisa.......and yes, 10 pounds a month is what my nut said to expect. My Dr also said that he believes that RNY has better weight loss in the long run... I'm working to show him wrong!
  16. You will not feel true restriction until you get to more solid Protein. However, if you stuff yourself, you can rip your staples. Your stomach had many nerves cut, and you may not be able to feel what is really happening there when you overstuff. You will still have some hunger hormone floating around for a while too... seriously, if you can't feel when your full, measure your food then stop. I know it can be hard, but your stomach will not be healed for over 6 weeks. MEASURE. Right now food is just medicine to help you heal. Things change quickly, and in a month or so, you will be eating almost normally for the rest of your life. Take my word for this, at 11 months, I can eat ANYTHING, and I still get restriction on dense protein. If you think you might be having eating disorder problems (like many of us) get to your Dr, or Nut or councilor as soon as you can. No one here wants you to have a setback that sends you to the hospital. Take care.
  17. Shanny, Fantastic! You look great!

    Happy Anniversary To Me

    You look fantastic! Congratulations girl!
  21. I have vitamin adds... just what I was looking at a couple days ago...
  22. I imagined that people here freaked out on you... bingeing and purging do not mix well with the sleeve... especially early out when you can rip your staple line. Hope all is going well for you now. It must be very challenging. Please understand that that response is a warning call to keep you safe. I hope they did not make it personal, thats not right.

    Heart Palpitations Anyone?

I have Atrial Fibrulation. You need to get tested by a Doc. I had this happen, was put in the hospital for one night/day, where the rapid heartbeat was inverted. I was then given Beta blockers (which I will have to take forever) to keep my hart rate even. Sometimes low magnesium can cause this too. Do not hesitate to have this checked out, your heart can throw a blood clot from this problem, and you don't want that.

Did I Make The Right Choice?

I'm sure you can call your surgeon for advice if you feel really bad?... It takes a while to start the healing, just take care, drink lots of water first on the list, get a little bit of walking in multiple times a day, work on your protein. Rest in between.
