I just had to share that I created a plan, I have stayed with my plan, today I weighed and I hit my goal of 175 pounds before Sept 1st! (The scale really has 174.4) but I am so happy I cried. It's been a long time for me to be where I am and I am just so thankful!

I'm a scale addict too - every single morning without clothes after using restroom first thing before eating/drinking anything at all. Keep in mind - I've noticed the same patterns over and over every month - ramping up to period, during period, alcohol, salt - these all affect my weight very predictably. I can fluctate anywhere from 1 to 5-6 pounds throughout the month - depending on the circumstance - often no relation to what i'm actually eating. However, if I only weighed once a month I would see a drop every month - in the 10 pound range since starting (slowing down now as expected). Despite knowing about the fluctations I still have bad and good days mentally as a result of the daily scale number - i can't help it (although I am way less sad/frustrated when it's higher because I know eventually it will go back down and monthly I always lose every single time).

This is so inspirational! I just got banded August 18th and cannot wait until I am excited to shop again. I have been wearing the same pair of jeans for a long time and I online order now because I hate shopping and my size is not usually in stores. After reading this I remembered there was a time I liked shopping for clothes.. When I was thinner! Thank you for sharing and I cannot wait to be where you are. So far the liquid diet has been difficult but I am staying strong.

My eyes about popped out of their sockets this morning when I stepped on the scale! I am officially down 140 pounds and am .6 (that's 1/2 pound!!!) away from my first goal of 135 pounds (will decide from there whether to lose another 5 pounds or not). I CANNOT BELIEVE IT! I am so excited. Last night I went to my friend's consignment shop for the first time (only carries the smaller sizes - really upscale gently used designer clothes) and I tried on and fell in love with an ARMANI jacket. From someone that used to HATE to shop - i'm now officially a clothes horse - and loving it!!! I must say that I have never IN MY LIFE spent that much money on one item of clothing (this includes my wedding dress - ha!) that jacket makes me look and feel like a million bucks - and is a little reward to myself for doing so great with my lapband. TWO WORDS: HEATING PAD. Nothing else worked for gas - nothing. Heating pad saved my life.

Thanks everyone!!! I do always want to share successes along the way for the newbies, people thinking of lapband or those that are discouraged and need some inspiration. Truly my only regret in this whole thing was not doing it much sooner! I had the surgery at 37 and wish I had it years ago. Oh well - better late than never!!! I look forward to getting dressed to go to work or out just because I now have so many cute outfits to choose from it's hard to pick just one!!! I NEVER imagined saying that two years ago. Keep up the faith everyone - I'm no one special and have not been a saint on this program - believe me. I've hardly exercised and I "cheat" often. However, I do stick to the 800-900 surgeon recommended calories most days - and the weight just literally dropped off. I will be in maintenance mode soon which will be a whole new adventure I'm sure. But, I visit here multiple times a day and will keep posting my experiences - hoping to inspire and educate others when I can. BEST OF LUCK TO US ALL ON OUR JOURNEYS!!!!
