I am now among the banded
Welcome to the other side! Have a heating pad ready in case the pains start, but I hope you are one of the lucky ones who has no gas pain!

Help!!! I ate too much, 3 weeks banded and was doing great!
"Bad" food goes down so easy. That's why so many of us cheat every once in a while. Don't beat yourself up! Today is a new day. I hope you enjoyed the pizza! I think if none of us ever ate anything we enjoyed again, we'd all go insane.

Help!! I have several post op questions. Lapband May 19!!
- Help! GAS!!!!
Flap your arms and/or do the chicken dance. Sit in a chair and bend over untli your head is in your lap (or as close as you can get it). Put a heating pad on the area with the gas. Say bloody mary three times while looking in the mirror- Listen to the new "NOW" LAP-BAND Radio Ad!
I think the info is really good, and for the most part I like it! I'm glad it says you COULD lose weight, not that you will. I don't know if it's just my speakers on my computer but it sounds like she's saying "lat band" instead of "laP" and for people who have never heard of it before, that might be a problem when they try to get more info.- No Longer Morbidly Obese
Woo hoo, congrats!!- No Longer Morbidly Obese
Woo hoo, congrats!!- Lapband tightness - is this what I'm feeling?
Pain when you breathe is leftover from the surgery, not because of your band. It should go away but keep breathing deeply so you don't develop pneumonia.- 10 pounds in 2 days
Ahhhh ok. Yeah, sounds normal to me Enjoy it!- cost
For a procedure being billed through insurance, it sounds a little high. I'm curious what is included in that bill besides just the surgery. My band was billed through insurance but I have to pay a 20% co-pay so my total bills were $11,768 (from the hospital with one overnight stay, the anesthesiologist, and the surgeon).- Let's keep track! How much did YOU lose in APRIL?
I thought it might be fun for us to keep a running total of how much we (April 2011 peeps) have lost each month. Post your loss this month below and I'll edit this post to keep a combined total. I think it'd be cool for us to see, month to month, how we're doing as a group. I'll start- I lost 17 pounds in April.- 2nd Fill
- How much did you eat post op?
I was on full liquids on day 11 (full liquids days 8-14) so I would have had soup, protein shakes, and probably some pudding. Portion wise I'd say the amount you're eating sounds fine.- 10 pounds in 2 days
That's pretty impressive! Did you recently have surgery? Did anything change in your diet or drinking?- Something to get me back on track...
I've heard people say that they did everything right and never lost weight, but I think that's definitely the minority. Just like everything else in life, the harder we work at this, the better the rewards will be!- 2nd Fill
I haven't even gotten my first fill yet and with something funky going on around my incision- they don't know if it's an infection or fluid that needs to reabsorb- they won't do my fill next week until it's totally cleared up. BOO!- What's your #1 food weakness?
Maybe this is a bad road for us all to go down... but is there one thing that you just can't have a bite of because you can't stop yourself once you start? Or one food you've been restricting that you miss? For me, it's Cereal. I love it. A giant bowl of Crispix with nice cold milk... HEAVEN!- How much protein?
My nutritionist recommends 60-80 grams a day.- Pho?
Mmmmmmmmm Pho. I bet it's just fine. And once you've moved on and can have meat, even better!- Band Removal
Wow, I am so sorry- waiting 10 minutes between bites????
10 minutes?!? um... no. i don't do that. providing you've chewed well, food passes through your band quickly. and usually you can feel it going down (well, maybe you can't, i can) and once my swallowed food is past the band, I know it's "safe" to take another bite. I can't imagine waiting 10 minutes!~\- Six months since surgery equals...
That's awesome, congratulations! Does onederland feel as amazing as I assume it does?- Third day after surgery
It's possible, but if you're not sure if it's hunger, it's probably not My stomach did all sorts of funky things the couple of weeks after surgery. When you start to get hungry again, it'll feel like the hunger you're used to, and you'll know it for sure.- hungry after lap band
Exactly what Vicky said! - Help! GAS!!!!
