  1. So I finally fit into the size 24 jeans(stretchy waist) I bought and It is really getting to be noticeable how big my clothes all are on me. If anyone has any of these sizes for a short 5'1" person (I can also hem stuff) and are looking to get rid of them, please let me know. I would be happy to pay shipping on them. Thanks in advance. Heather
  2. Did the "walk away the pounds" 1 mile video today, gotta start somewhere...

  3. Thanks Shae, that would be great!! Thanks for posting.
  4. I think all of the people in these offices are trained to talk like that. Every follow up appointment I have been too, they always want more than what I acheived. I am 7 months out and have lost 87 since surgery for a total of 114 from my highest. Last appointment I was double teamed by the PA and the Doctor about how my window is closing and I need to get moving or else I am going to find myself in a very bad place. I had to schedule an appt with the nutritionist who I will be seeing in a week and a half. Don't let them get you down, you have done amazing, just keep up the good work.

    The Like Button

I liked your original post so it should say "Chicadee likes this" in place of the "like this" button. I can't explain why you cannot see it. I can see when someone like's one of my posts. Sorry I couldn't help you out.

Late Period 1 Month Post Op?

I didn't get mine for 2.5 months but when I did get it was extra heavy and long. Now it seems to be getting back to normal now. I did go to the GYN because of it and I was given premarin and provera to get it kick started again.
  7. I have the Bariatric Advantage chewable iron pills. They don't taste bad actually, they are a berry flavor. My main problem is not taking them consistently.

    What's For Breakfast

I have struggled with breakfast for awhile because couldn't tolerate eggs at all. I was hung up on the whole "breakfast food" stereotype. You can eat anything for breakfast. I have eaten leftovers for breakfast before. Anything you would have at lunch or dinner you can also have at breakfast time, don't worry about it being classified as "breakfast food". What about beans? Yogurt, cottage cheese, soup, tuna salad, egg salad or even chicken salad perhaps.
  9. Sugar free Popsicles have been an awesome go to for me even now. Any time I want something for a snack I can reach for those and have no ill effects at all.

    The Like Button

If you click the "like" button for someone they get a reputation point. If you go to your profile you will see on the top right a number. For example, mine says 3 neutral so I haven't received very many "likes". LilMIssDiva and Tiffykins on the other hand, people who often have really good answers and input and post often have many likes and are in the category "reputation points leaders". You can actually see the leader board on the right side of the forums if you scroll down a bit.
  11. I had a girl at work last week come up to me and say "OMG you are getting so tiny!!" I said thanks, but I was thinking, really? I still weigh 276 pounds for God's sake, not tiny by any means. That coming from a girl who probably weighs maybe 150.

    What Tastes Good Pureed?

My favorite puree was my homemade beef stew put through the food processor. Plenty of protein with all the veggies.
  13. So I thought I would share a couple images, it amazes me to see myself before I lost the weight, I never saw myself like that. I think I was in complete denial, because even though everything hurt and I was exhausted all the time, I never thought I looked like that. The first picture is definitely at my largest, it was last September 2010. The progress photos are from surgery to now.
  14. I've never been a straw user but I accidentally used one the first time we went out to eat after surgery and still do use them whenever I am presented with a straw. I have had no air problems with them at all.

  20. I didn't inquire about using disability for this, I just used 2 weeks vacation time. It would have been nice to stay home a bit longer cause that first week back was very tiresome and I had no energy. I didn't want to be bothered with the red tape of filing and having to go through the HR department for the disability.
  21. Pre-surgery I was one of the heavier people here but was lucky enough not to have a ton of co-morbidities. I had severe sleep apnea and bad back, knee, ankle and foot pain(plantar fascitis and bone spurs). I was diagnosed with the sleep apnea back in 2007, just before i started looking into WLS. I had surgery in May and I stopped wearing my mask completely 2 months ago or so. All of my foot pain is gone, I don't even use my orthotics any more. I went from only being able to wear new balance sneakers with my inserts in them to being able to wear any shoe in my closet in the last few months. I still get some occasional knee/ankle pain if I am standing for extended period of time but I still have a lot of weight to lose yet.

    My Bad Habits Are....

My bad habits: I don't log my food everyday, I like myfitnesspal I just need to get into the habit of using it for food, I track my weight there (I weigh myself pretty much every day but don't let the normal fluctuations get me down, I know I am not going to drop every day). That being said I am sure I am not getting enough Protein everyday this is a very bad thing and I need to get myself on track. I don't exercise at all. I keep saying I want to go tot he gym but never get myself to go, I know I need to start doing something, it is like I am fighting with myself about it. I rarely take my Vitamins. I eat more carbs than I need to.
  23. Finally got around to doing my measurements and have lost 12 more inches in the last 2 months....yay!!

  24. i went to my first seminar back in the summer of 2007. At that time i only knew about the band and the bypass only and I knew i never wanted a bypass. I went through the whole process and a week before surgery in October 07 I chickened out. That was the best thing I did, fast forward to last fall when I heard about the sleeve. I attended another seminar and was SO happy that I did not have the band after reading all of the stories about it. I decided on the sleeve and had the procedure in May, i had to do a 6 month diet otherwise I would have had it done last fall.
