  1. I know what you mean. I now pay attention to other people eating. My husband, whom I love dearly, grosses me out when he eats. He smacks and Chomps and shovels it in, I can't believe he is even tasting anything. I dont like eating wirh him.

Seeing other peoples plates is a real eye-opener......its amazing how much people rely on their eyes to determine what they think they need to put in their otummies.

And he can't believe I take so long to eat. He is done before I'm halfway through my meal.

I now prefer to eat by myself, where I can enjoy the silence and pay attention to my eating.

  2. If this continues more than a few days then it might not be food poisoning

Do you still have your gallbladder? Your symptoms sound like mine when I was having gallbladder attacks. Anytime I ate I would experience that. Lots of fun. NOT. Once my gb was removed I felt so much better.

Hope you get answers fast and feel better!!

  3. This has me wondering...I never noticed any extra tightness because of the heat...maybe because I live in Houston Texas and I'm used to the heat and humidity? Was banded last June and really can't feel any difference with the weather..... Not saying it doesn't happen, just that I haven't noticed it with my band. I plan on asking when I go for my next fill in August.

  4. Kittyforet,

I am in Texas City. I saw on this forum about a month ago someone was trying to get together a local support group for our side of town. But nothing has come of it.

    Candtwalker,

I just sent you a message. Some ladies in a small Clear Lake area group are getting together this Saturday if you want to join in. Very casual meeting but the ladies are great!! email if you're interested or even if you want to talk. kittyforet@yahoo.com

  5. We just got back from the carnival magic. I actually lost a pound!! I ate small amounts (but was able to eat a slice of French toast 3 days! Love that and haven't been doing bread for a while!!). My husband loved the chocolate melting cake as well. He ate it each night. I didn't realize that he liked it so much or I would have tried to make it for him. If you have the recipe would you mind sending it to me also please? I want to see if I can "slim it down" somehow.

    Thanks.

  6. I went directly through True Results, on Main, because my insurance doesn't cover WLS, so it was cheaper for me to go to TR than to go directly to Dr Hollis. Many times I've regretted that decision, as Dr Hollis is so much closer to me, but not sure he'd be able to take me now and have me pay the cash prices I pay at TR. it can be a pain to drive to True Results. When I signed up at TR they picked the surgeon, not me, so I guess that's my fault for not realizing that I should have asked for Dr Hollis, but at the time I didn't know that he was also an independent surgeon. Oh well.

  7. I am in between Houston and Galveston, like Cheri (hi!!! Sorry I missed you and lunch! ).

I've been banded one year now and at a plateau after being over filled. Surgery at True Results Houston with Dr Reilly.

Feel free to email me kittyforet@yahoo.com as I don't get on LBT as much as I'd like. :)

  8. I too am addicted to it. The first time I went out of town and didn't have it I panicked. Then weighed once I got home.

Now, I'm weaning myself off. Haven't weighed in a week, but I've been out of town since Thursday, and it's Monday now. Will probably weigh tomorrow Tuesday morning...if not then, I will do it on Wednesday. I've now gotten tired of weighing daily and seeing the scale fluctuate little, especially if it goes up a tad.

Train yourself to only do it once a week. Good luck!!

  9. My fill nurse says to stay away from them once you have good restriction as they are Gummy and can possibly cause an obstruction. I like them and until I got good restriction, had no problems. Once I hit the green zone though, I noticed its harder to get them to go down so I limit them.

  10. Ladies, feel free to email me anytime.

I'd be willing to find a somewhat central location and meet up sometime. Maybe a Starbucks or something near the Galleria? Anyone have any other ideas? I mainly stay south of Downtown but would be willing to travel a little if everyone wanted to meet up.

  11. I've had mine since last summer and love it! No problems at all. Hurt getting it in, but other than that, LOVE IT!! Haven't had a period since at least January....now I forget when the last one was but it's been at least that long. I like it so much better than Nuva-ring...that got way too expensive!

  12. Tried warm apple cider and no go. It all came back up.

Called the office, no after-hours staff. A long time ago they gave me the name of a clinic to go to if ever I needed it after hours, and of course I can't find the name of it! GRRR. Guess I will hang on until Monday. I've been warned to NOT go to the local ER.

  13. I everyone!

So I've been plugging along, eating correctly as much as I can, trying to follow the rules and for the most part am doing ok. Learning what not to do the hard way.

This past Thursday I went for a fill and got .2cc. I'm now at 8.2. I'm almost regretting it. I was doing ok before this fill and looking back think I might have been in the green zone. Now am I closer to red??

I did liquids on Thursday after the fill and all day yesterday. Was able to go to mushy last night so I had a soft scrambled egg, no problem.

Today though has been awful. I could barely drink my Protein drink and haven't kept down much. Havent tried to eat but drinking is painful. Tried my normal iced tea, tried it room temp, not much going down. I've pb-d a few times and still have pain down my esophogas. I've sipped little sips and not using a straw. It's staying down but taking me 5 minutes between sips. I feel stuck but there's nothing to be stuck.

I'm not sure if I should try drinking more Water, try hot or cold liquids.

Is this normal swelling? I've never experienced this before with any of my fills.

Is it too early to consider a slight unfill? Should I stick it out tomorrow and see how it goes?

    Advice appreciated.

    Thanks!
