    Onederland! I Finally Made It!!

Welcome to Onederland! Glad you're here!! I haven't been under 200 in at least 11 years and 3 kids. Happy to be here! Congrats!!!
  4. Different pains. 3 c-sections, first one being an emergency, hurt pretty bad. Left a 4 inch vertical scar. Each one was on a Wednesday and was back in church on Sunday. 3rd was the easiest of course. Gall bladder removal after 3rd c-section, thought I was going to die, the pain was so much worse. Expected it to be a walk in the park but was out of work for a week. Lapband surgery with hernia removal, not too bad. Went to a funeral the day after, and drove myself 2 days after surgery to get a pedicure....Worse part was getting from sitting to standing, felt like my insides were busting out. Didn't take the pain meds after I got home, couldn't stand the taste. Hands down, lap band surgery was a piece of cake in regards to pain and recovery. Had I been working, I'd be back to work within a day or so. I'm a teacher and had surgery in June. Surgery on Monday, probably would have tried to go back Wednesday once I was cleared to drive. Glad I didn't have to go back though

    Unflavored Protein Powder?

I have unjury unflavored. I sometimes add it to crystal light or applesauce in small amounts. Too much and you can taste it. Also added it to any kind of juice. Just because it's unflavored though doesn't mean you can't taste it. It's just not flavored like chocolate, vanilla, etc. It does have a taste.

How To Know When You Are Full

So far I am having a hard time determining when I am full. Lately I've been getting stuck when I eat too much. But, I have noticed a few times I will have ONE hiccup...when that happens, I STOP eating!! I think that is my SOFT STOP signal...when I eat past that, I get stuck. Tonight as I ate dinner I didn't hiccup, but I stopped when what little was on my plate was empty. Trying to avoid that hiccup.

    Drinking While Banded

I've had a margarita and some wine. I don't drink beer or mixed drinks with carbonation. Just remember you might now be a cheap date...half my pre-banded margarita and I'm loopy. So I stick with a sangria wine and ask them to add extra fruit. Have fun!!

My Fitness Pal - Wanna Be Friends?

Feel free to friend me too. I'm by no means the poster child for a good diary, but I try. Same name as here. Kittyforet.
  9. my nutrionist (not affiliated with my surgeon) gave me sample ideas of what I can eat when and I tried to stick to that... try to find a protein you like....i drink "The ideal Chocolate Milk" protein powder and like it. Some people like Unjury (it's not too bad), some don't. You have to find what works for you. Even 5 months out, at least 5 days a week I have a protein drink for breakfast...when I don't, I sometimes fall short of meeting my protein. you can start logging your meals at a site like myfitnesspal.com....i started that pre-op and have been pretty consistent with logging my meals. Also helps that I can see my friends' diaries to see how they get their protein in.
  10. Congrats on being banded! Don't worry about calories right now. Concentrate on getting your Proteins and drink fluids. Calories start to count once you're on solid foods again. Best of luck to you!
  11. So sorry to hear that Mimi. I dealt with that the other night, stuck on a meatball that I wolfed down. Hope your weekend gets better.
  12. Banded in June. Already had 2 thanksgiving dinners and have one more to go. Still used my diary and trying to stay under calorie goal but won't beat myself up if I go over. I put tiny teaspoon size amounts on my plate and ate very slowly. Ate a little of each thing I wanted. Really wanted the fried turkey but I tasted a tiny piece and was worried I'd get stuck on it if it was too dry. But I enjoyed myself and time with family. Going to do it again on Saturday. Gym was closed today so going to work out tomorrow morning. Happy thanksgiving everyone.

How Often Do You Weigh In?

I won't lie. I step on that dang thing everyday. Recently went out of town and freaked out because I wasn't going to be able to weigh. But got over it. I only record it on Wednesday's. Weigh down Wednesday. Lol. And try to ignore the rest of the days weights.

    Vitamin And Calcium Question

I use the target brand of the Vitafusion gummies. I take 2 of the adult Multivitamin and 2 of the calcium chewies. My nutritionist is ok with that. Don't get me wrong, they don't taste like Haribo Gummy bears, but they're not too bad. The calcium ones are sorta like sour gummies but without the sour taste. I can't stand chalky tastes or chewing the tablets.
  15. Anyone that's using myfitnesspal can look at my diary. It's not always the best and don't use it as what you must do but I try. Feel free to friend me here and there. Same username. Kittyforet Kristi
  16. Myfitnesspal.com Free and can change goals

    Help Needed Please...1,000 Calories

Many people use www.myfitnesspal.com to track their calories. Using that site allows you to see all of your nutrients and you can see your friends' diaries. Helps keep me motivated. You can choose to have your diary public or private. I use it and so do so many others from here. You can look at mine. Same user name as here.
  18. My first stuck episode was mild. Only lasted a few minutes. After walking around it went down. Tonight I just had my worst stuck ever. Never want that again. It starts as a sharp chest pain and for me i can feel it in the same spot in my back. Well after feeling that horrible pain for 2 hours, I threw up a lot of slime. Felt a little better, so I sat back down I read my book. A little later though the pain came back. Lots of vomit later and now I feel better. What caused it?? A meatball. Actually 3 meatballs. Each smaller than a gold ball. I was making spaghetti sauce and tried a new recipe for baked meatballs. Had to sample before I put them in the sauce. I didn't chew well enough. Thankfully it all came back up. Lesson learned. No dinner for me, and now I really have to be careful. I feel like I need to eat but don't think I am actually hungry. Plus a little scared to do anything. I'll do liquids tomorrow to minimize any after effects. Hoping I never go thru that again. I just got a fill 2 weeks ago and up to 6.6 cc. I've gotten stuck mildly every few days since then. If this continues I will ask for a slight unfill at my next visit. Other than the stuck and vomit, I can tell I'm eating less. Might actually be hovering around the green zone.

    What Does Nsv Stand For?

NSV is any accomplishment or victory that you've achieved that doesn't include a scale. It could be a smaller clothing size, someone paid you a compliment about your weight loss, fitting to an airplane seat or another seat, crossing your legs, etc. anything that maybe you wouldn't or couldn't do before. It's a victory to be celebrated even if the scale isn't moving (or if it's not moving enough or the right way!) Celebrate every little thing and be proud of what you've accomplished. It's the little things that add up to big success.

    Vitamins- What are people taking?

I take the Target brand of the multi-vitamin and calcium gummies....they're both the Target brand of the Vita brand gummies. They're not too bad. When they are on sale I buy several bottles.
