    Price Of Fill

As self pay my first year was free. Now that the honeymoon is over they offer 3 options: $125 as needed each visit Or $40 direct bill from your bank account monthly whether you come in or not Or $240 pay upfront for as many visits as needed in a 6 month period. Suggestions?! Please

All of the above plus I like turkey pepperoni and turkey Jerky. The jerky I buy is Jack Links 100 calorie packs and they have 18 grams Protein. Takes a bit of chewing but they get the job done. Turkey pepperoni is 70 calories with 8 grams protein. Sometimes I'll have a serving of 15 slices with a string cheese (I like sargento reduced fat cheddar) and that keeps me full. I also add unflavored Protein Powder to things and/or use lemonade flavored powder in my Water after working out. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

I Am My Own Worst Enemy!!!

I'm the same way. Had to get some removed Easter weekend (only 1 cc but it felt like 5 cc!) and it's been a struggle ever since. It felt like I had no band at all until mid-June and even now that I'm back to where I was when I was too tight, 8.3 cc, I still fight constantly. I was in the green zone before and trying hard to get there again, I just didn't realize I was there before!! Even with exercising I'm battling the scale. June and July I lost one pound each but still not as low as I was. I went to the doctor Friday and they said no fill, that I should be able to do it on my own since I've been losing even a pound. It's frustrating but I know what I need to work on. I'm mad because the weight was coming off at a good pace before and I had to go and ask for a tiny more that I really didn't need. So now I have to suck it up and eat less and move more. I log everything on myfitnesspal and know I have room to improve. Best of luck to you!! We can do this!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    Uh-Oh...

I think that the carbonation isn't as strong when it's a frozen drink. I think you're ok. If it worries you, ask your doctor before you drink another one. And if they say it's not ok, let us know!! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
  6. Everyone has their own preferences so try as many as you can. I also noticed that some I didn't like pre-op I can now drink so keep in mind that your tastes may change. I have several powders I like. Ideal chocolate milk Protein powder. They used to make a vanilla and it was good too. unjury chocolate splendor, vanilla, unflavored and chicken Soup. Haven't tried the strawberry but just got a sample pack. Syntrax nectar roadside lemonade, Caribbean cooler, strawberry mousse, Cappuccino. All of the above powders are in my pantry right now, so I dont get bored or stuck having the same thing over and over. I also have sugar free torani syrups to add to my drinks... Chocolate, vanilla, caramel and coconut. This way I can have a caramel chocolate drink, a chocolate coconut drink, etc. it doesn't have to be plain Jane. For the nectar lemonade and Caribbean cooler, I add the crystal light packets of either lemonade, raspberry lemonade or pink lemonade to boost the taste. There's no limit to the flavors you can make. Try to buy sample sizes when you can. Many websites have these. I don't do the ready made drinks. Tried a few but didn't find one that was willing to drink on a regular basis. Emergency Room Unfills???

In April I was too Tight over Easter weekend and my surgeons office does not utilize any sort of on call or triage but they do tell me each time I see them that if I have a band-related emergency which ER clinic to go to. I went there not able to keep down Water. I didn't know ahead of time how much they were taking out and didn't think to ask until when he was doing it. He took out 1 cc and said that was the norm. I'm glad it was such a tiny amount but I'm now back to the amount I had when I was overfilled and don't have the same restriction. 8.3 in a 10 band. When I got that 1 cc taken out it was like the band was completely gone. Now I know it's there And back to losing very slowly, not as fast as I did prior to the ER visit. Very Slow Loser

It does become hard not to compare my loss to others. I lost 52 pounds in a year. gREAT!! But I got a small unfill in April and since then, hardly any loss at all. Went today hoping for a tiny fill and they said no. I'm at 8.3 according to them (I think it's a little less but whatever ) and they said I'm doing fine, even though I've lost one pound this month and one pound last. I'm still hoping to lose at least 25 more. I also have a thyroid issue so I know I will be a slower loser. It's frustrating that I did great with the loss before my unfill and now it's a struggle. I'd be happier if I could lose 4 pounds per month but I'll have to settle for 1 and not let the scale define my success. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    Torani Sugar Free Syrup ?'s

    Torani Sugar Free Syrup ?'s

I actually use the Protein powder...I can't seem to eat before lunch time except maybe fruit, cheese sticks or yogurt, so I usually have a protein drink. I've never bought the ready-made so I'm not sure but you won't know until you try it, right? Start with maybe a capful at a time and see what you like. The syrups are sold near the coffee or tea. The SF ones have the blue label, regular have red labels. Walmart actually had a better selection than Target, but not sure if that is everywhere. I was even surprised at the selection at sams club; that's where I found the coconut. I would like to buy more flavors, just need to make sure I will use them! Since you mentioned it I will go check their website for recipes. Eggface also has recipes on her blog, mainly for protien shakes and protein ice cream using the syrups. Those might be of interest to you also Have a great one! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    Very Slow Loser

welcome to my world!!! Had to get a slight unfill in April and while I am now back to 8.0 in my band, I am yo-yoing on the scale....two pounds up, 1 pound down, ever since then. Hopefully I will be able to lose more soon! It has been a VERY SLOW process these last few months!!

    Torani Sugar Free Syrup ?'s

I have the Torani SF coconut, chocolate, vanilla and caramel. Some bought at walmart, some at sams, some at target. Never any after taste in any of them that I've tried. I don't drink coffee but I add them to my Protein shakes and hot cocoa, as well as pudding and oatmeal every now and then. I was adding the coffee mate creamer but like these SF syrups better plus the nutrition stats are better. Some ways I use: Chocolate Protein Drink + coconut tastes like almond joy strawberry protein drink + vanilla tastes like a strawberry creamy milk Chocolate protein drink + Peanut Butter + caramel tastes like snickers Cappuccino protein drink + chocolate, caramel or vanilla makes it extra tasty. I usually mix them up and put in freezer for a bit to make it a little slushy. Instant milkshake taste!!! Also add the flavors to pudding and pancake batter. Once I start using them I try I find as many ways to use them as possible. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    True Results Houston---Fills

I've had the X-ray where they make you drink the chalky white liquid and take the picture but not during the actual fill. They can insert the syringe and then check the X-ray while you still have the needle in your port. They've used that on me afte adding Fluid to check the band and see how yhe fluid is flowing, etc. but I always start out lying down on the "bed" while the nurse inserts the needle. Popcorn??

I was never told not to eat it but just to be careful with it. Stay away from the kernels. But I haven't had any issues so far, either with movie theater popcorn or the microwave version. I notice that I now eat less of it though. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    Unfill?

I have been there. In early April I had 8.0 and got a tiny fill up to 8.2 when I shouldn't have. I was already in green and thought stupidly that adding that .2 cc would keep me there. Nope. Got fill on Thursday and was fine on liquids for 2 days but Saturday and Sunday I couldn't even swallow water or spit and went to the emergency clinic suggested by my doctor and they took out 1 cc. That felt like I was back to pre-band!! Gained 4 pounds. Fast forward to July. I was now up to about 8.0 and still not feeling the level of restriction I had before. I'm constantly fighting to lose. I've lost 2 of the 4 I gained back but having a hard time losing any more. It's like my body is holding on to everything. Even with more exercising its not coming off. Last month they wouldn't give me a fill, as I had lost a tiny bit from June (not much though!!). I go this Friday and hope to get .1 or .2. Ready for this not losing streak to end!!

What Kind Of Job Do Tou Have?

I'm a teacher and had surgery my first day of summer vacation. Surgery Monday, hubby went out of town Wednesday and left me with the kids and by Thursday I was driving myself to run errands. Hardest part was not being able to hold my 4 year old or help her into my elevated bed (that was a b***h for me to climb into already!) If I had been at work I would have taken at least a week off. I'm constantly moving at work so one week might not have been enough, as I'm a vo-tech teacher and my job is mainly hands on skills. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Lap Band Fills at True Results

Hey Kentx05. I use TR for fills. I'm self pay, insurance doesn't cover anything related to WLS. Now that my "free" year is up, they have a few options. 1. Pay $125 per visit 2. Have $40 auto-deduct from bank account each month for one year. 3. Pre-pay $240 for 6 months. Maybe see if you can do self-pay instead of using insurance if it is cheaper. I'm not sure how much fills are with insurance...if I had insurance coverage I would call both TR and my policy to find out exactly what to expect, and get it in writing. Please keep us posted. True Results-Houston

Hey ken. I haven't heard but if you find out I'd love to hear what they say. It would be so much easier for me to go to his office instead of true results. Of course he wasn't my surgeon so he probably wouldn't take me as a patient. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    Tears Lots Of Tears

I'm a cosmetologist and a teacher. I've had more bad hairstyles than anyone else I know but each one has been a discovery, not a mistake!! Last month I bit the bullet and whacked my hair short...not super short but shorter and layered, where before it was long (long to me, but really it was just an inch or so past my shoulders, the longest it's ever been!). I'm loving it short! I forgot how fun it can be to not be dragged down by my hair. It's not very thick but it just wasn't a good look for me. Super glad I did it and have gotten lots of compliments. I still always say I want to grow it long but it will never been long and sexy like I'd prefer, so I will go with what works. I've had it fried so many times before that I'm Surprised it still wants to be friends with my scalp. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

    Unfilled Way Too Much?????

On April 12 I got a fill, bringing me up to 8.2. That day and the next (Friday) I was fine on all liquids. Then Saturday I couldn't keep down liquids at all. By Sunday (Easter) I couldn't keep down spit. I went to the emergency clinic that my surgeon recommended (was worried I would have a slip if I waited too long). They took out 1 cc. Instant relief. But then I could eat way more than I should (and did at times) and didn't have the full feeling as much. Fast forward to today. I now have back up to 8.3 in my band and feel close but not at the green zone. Before the unfill, 8.0 was my green and I didn't realize it. Now I'm struggling to be at green and wish I never got to 8.3. Since then I've gained 2 pounds but lost one and having a hard time maintaining any losses. I've added in more exercise than I did before the unfill (I did get lazy after that unfill). Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
