I started my period the day after surgery,but wasn't due for another two weeks...is that normal? I'm on bc but didnt take it the morning of surgery due to npo after midnight. I didn't take it the next day because I was so doped up to remember but started that evening. I have skipped a few days before and have never started my period because of it. Just curious.

I'm 21 and would do it over and over again. The day after my surgery I was shopping withy husband,recovery is not that bad at all! I quit taking pain medications after the second day also! I have not had my first fill yet so any weight loss is purely up to just me at this point. However, I'm as happy as a clam because I know once I start getting fills I can use my band to its full potential! You have to remember its only as bad as you make it! I was begging my mom and hubby to take me home when they started getting me ready for surgery but after a "cocktail" (something a lot like valume [sp?]) I was giggling and waving bye on the way to the operating room! And its all easy breezy from there! Just remember its a tool not magic! Work with your band! Hell,I'm naming mine once I get to know him,or her a little better! Everyday is a new experience and emotion. Go with the flow and good luck!

I don't think so but we should start one! Me and my husbands anniversary is Sept 4th so that would be awesome!

I was banded 6/29 and I'm bored! I am a nursing assistant at a nursing home so I lift A LOT. Think I would be able to back to work now?

That's the problem I can't always get help. And I'm lifting 50% of the time. Maybe I should call my surgeon ha.

Sitting here as my family eats steaks,fried shrimp,and baked potatoes. My tummy is growling as I sit. but Damnit I will be skinny!

Well I'm on the liquid diet I'm only about 2 weeks out.

I was banded 6/29 and I am also able to eat pretty well. Im not a morning eater so I had maybe 3 tb of funny oatmeal and a protein shake for breakfast. But for lunch I was able to eat a whole can of tomato soup blended with cheese. Although I'm not hungry anymore I know I will be in about three hours. I have no fluid in my band so I know that's why.

I can't burp,I can feel the bubble there but it won't come out! And when it does its like a hiccup burp that hurts. Any ideas?

I was banded on wed the 29, the day after was fine but that night I got extremely nauseous and started vomiting,thus lasted until about 4am this morning. My surgeon took me off all meds except the nausea medicine. Has anyone else had this problem?

I was banded on 6/29. I did clear liquids until I gagged which was until yesterday. I got potatoe soup and blended the hell out of it and took tiny tiny bites...I felt fine so I put myself to the full liquids. My stomache was getting to the .point where it hurt when it was growling. I listen to my body and how its working. And so far so good! I actually think its made me feel better. I went shopping all morning with a friend with minimal pain or fatigue. But! I am no way shape or form a doctor so don't listen to me,I might be effing up my tummy. However I doubt it. My mom had gastric bypass and didn't have a post op diet. She ate limon chips for a month because it was the only thing that would stay down hahaits been like 7 years and she's alive and kicking!.

Oh man,I feel for you guys,I was also banded on 6/29. Fortunately yesterday was my last bad day. I had a tiny bit of gas pain in my left shoulder when I was shopping this morning but its gone now. The only comfort I had was to get three fluffy pillows, put my tummy on them with my butt in the air and my head on the other side resting on the bed.. I slept like a baby,literally. I haven't had pain meds since 6/30,it was making me vomit and nauseous...for me I just had to get off of that crap and just sleep a couple of days. good luck and quick recoveries!

I'm only 5 days out and am only supposed to have clear liquids but I couldn't handle it. The thought of jello or chicken broth makes me want to vomit. My mouth literally gets the vomit waters to think about it. So today I ventured out and had potato soup,I ordered from mcalisters,I blended it more when I got it home. I ate about half a cup 20 min ago. So far so good. I hope I didnt start my thickened stage too early! I would start it Tuesday if I would have went perfectly by the steps!

Sometimes when I stand straight or bend to the left I have this INTENSE pain that feels like my port is ripping off of whatever the hell its attached to. Just curious if this is the same port pain others are experiencing?

I had surgery wed. So I'm only a few days out but jeez I started crying I thought I was about to have internal bleeding. When will I feel normal again Damnit!

Well I had my band placed wed. So I'm pretty fresh. So far I've lost 5lbs. It sucks. I'm not going to lie. I felt pretty crappy until today. The gas pain is awful! But I am now getting it out! I've only been married for about 10 months and so far my husband started smoking again Haha probably because the last few days I haven't been pleasant to be around. But he's still treating me the same. Would I do it over? Absolutely. I may be hungry and can't have anything but broth (yuck) but this too shall pass. I figure this time next week ill be somewhat back to normal. One day at a time.

Oh boy do I know what you mean! I'm four days post op also and had terrible nausea and vomiting on my day 2 as well through the nights. My surgeon took me off my antibiotics as well as pain meds. I'm not feeling that bad now but I have a very gassy tummy today that is starting to get really annoying!

I had my surgery yesterday morning!Yesterday evening I finally had the urge to pee but couldnt! I can finally go but it takes a lot of concentration and a lot of time! Any suggestions?

I have to do the adkins diet for two weeks before the surgery. Are you getting nervous?

I am scheduled to get banded sometime in June, I go to my last pre op appt next week! I am starting to get super anxious that im going to die during surgery or that im going to HATE being banded. Did anyone else get this way a couple of months before the big day? I know that im being silly and that im going to be just fine,but someone just sympathize with me..please?
