    One Year out today

Congrats your weight loss- you've done great!!
  5. It was a dissolvable tablet that I take twice a day. I actually still have to take it- at least until my appointment next week. I've also read that some people believe it helps them be less hungry- that when they stop taking it they actually have slight hunger pains. hmmm- hope not!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are definitely an inspiration to us on this board. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge!!!
  7. I also had esophagitis when they did the endoscopy. My surgeon put me on omeprazole and it cleared up quickly. I had surgery a couple months later with no problems. Hope all goes well with your doc. appt and it is all cleared up.

    One month out

Thanks! I lost 20lbs in month 1. The rest was lost pre-op. I'm starting to notice a change in my clothes- things are much baggier. However, I'm definitely not losing as fast around my waist/tummy. I can get a smaller size jeans on but they are still tight around the waist- darn! Good job on your weight loss too!
  10. SO I'm one month out today. I can't believe it. It feels like just yesterday I was lying on the operating table and praying that everything was going to be ok. Wow time goes by fast! I do feel so much better already. Pre-op I was sick due to ulcers, anemia, and a hiatal hernia. Now with the hernia being repaired (same time as surgery) and being on meds- that has all gone bye-bye. I now feel like I have so much energy back. I'm doing things around the house that should've been done long ago but I was too sick/tired to complete them. I stopped midway as i was redecorating my living room before surgery. Now that is completed as of today- yay! I'm still adjusting to all the eating stages. I'm on soft/tender foods now. I feel like I can eat more than I should. Yesterday I went out and bought a food scale so I can accurately measure out portions. I just hope I have the restriction that I should. that worries me a bit. Tonight I am meeting some friends out for dinner. I'm a little worried about it as it is my first social outing since surgery. I've looked online at the menu and there are not many healthy options. I'm leaning towards the slow roasted chicken- it says it is trimmed and its slow roasted so it's tender. Not sure if that is a good choice. But other than that my options would be mashed potatoes and I'd rather stay away fromthose carbs. Ahhh... adjustments... adjustments. Gotta keep telling myself it's all for the best- right?

    Approval Letter!!!!!

Congrats on your approval! That's exciting! When I found out I read the letter over and over. I thought for sure I'd see the word "denied" and couldn't believe I read "approved".
  12. When I eat warm foods I seem to have more restriction than when I eat cold foods. It usually happens with soup or stew type foods. Anyone else experience this?
  13. I was thin before- had lost about 150lbs- unfortunately gained it all back (hence the sleeve). Anyways when I was thin I had more energy, more confidence, was eager to try new things in life, and was just a happier person. I lived life! Since I gained the weight back I left all that behind. Ready to get back to that point again. I remember during spinning classes I would look in the mirror and think- is that thin person sweating in a spinning class really me? I would love to see that person in the mirror again or should I say I look forward in seeing that person soon!
  14. Love it- that's a great picture! Congrats on the weightloss!

    One month out

The dinner went ok. I ordered the oven slow roasted chicken. I only had a couple bites- it was super moist but didn't sit well in my tummy. It came with two sides so I got mashed potatoes and a small cup of chili. I ate half of the chili and one or two bites of potatoes. I definitely felt the restriction Finally! I know it's there! I was actually worried something was working right for me. The hardest part was watching my friends have a beer or margarita. Oh how I loved my margaritas! And the beer looked pretty tasty too. Someday...someday.
  16. The first 2-3 days are the hardest and then it does seem to get easier. I would try to stay out of the room if possible when they are eating. If not just keep thinking about how great you are going to feel/look afterwards! And remember that popular saying on here "nothing tastes as good as thin feels". Good luck as you continue on!

    NSV and Struggles

Congrats on your weight loss- that is fantastic! And good for you for realizing your slip and then getting rid of the bad food. Most people probably would've just waited to get back on track when they got home. I think you are making a smart choice to cutting out those foods for awhile. Good luck to you and your husband as you continue on this journey!
