    7 month surgeversary

Congrats on your weight loss! Looks like you've had a successful 7 months! Loved your Hawaii pics. What a beautiful place- glad you were able to enjoy it!
  6. So in order to really motivate myself I booked a carribean cruise with my sister for next March! My sis is having a baby in July so it is also a motivator for her as well to get the baby weight off. I get a little anxiety when I think of buying a swimsuit, which is something I haven't done in a looooong time. We will be doing many excursions including parasailing, ziplining, swimming with dolphins/stingrays, snorkeling, kayaking, etc. I want to be in shape so I can enjoy all of it and the ziplining has a weight limit so I definitely need to work my tail off in the next 10 months! I keep thinking.. I can NOT fail this time! I just have to make it happen!

    CRUISING!!!

Oh yeah- definitely a tankini or one piece to hide the scars. Hopefully one day I will have the confidence and the body for a bikini but for now- no way! I just hope to feel strong and have lots of energy to enjoy all that we will do. I already feel much better than before surgery and I have sooooo long to go. I can't imagine what I will feel like then!

My scale does not define me.

Great post! I think this hits home with most of us. That dang scale! I also like to weigh once a week but if the scale is on the floor in the bathroom I won't pass up weighing myself in the morning... every morning! So my solution was to weigh myself and then put the scale in my laundry room in a small space between my dryer and wall. It is out of sight and not as tempting as in the bathroom. Last time I lost a lot of weight I was on it daily- if not more. I will not do that this time! I need my sanity! Great job passing up the scale for two weeks! I'm impressed!
  11. I think that is completely normal. You start second guessing yourself and doing all the "what ifs" in your head. Just try to stay positive and it will be here and over with before you know it. Hang in there and good luck to you!

    My first "baby step"

Way to go!!! That's a great first step and will definitely help you once sleeved. It is so hard to break a habit but so rewarding for your health. Keep up the great work!
  13. Oh yeah- had/have a case of the forgetfuls too. My worse is trying to go the store without a list- can't do it after surgery! I can even remember something I need, walk to that aisle, and then forget what I just remembered- what? I feel so ditzy sometimes in conversations because I can't remember things I should. I heard it is normal after surgery but I can't wait for this to be over. I think it is great that your ordered a smaller dress. Great motivation for sure! I booked a cruise for exactly one year out to motivate me. The thought of even buying a swimsuit makes me cringe. Hoping I can lose a lot by then! Good luck with your wedding and your continued weight loss!
  14. Congrats to you! You have done great in 3 months!!
  15. WOW!!! You look fabulous. Congrats on your success!!!
  16. SO I finally finish all my requirements after many months of appointments and as the doctor's office is getting ready to submit my paperwork to insurance- they say I may not be approved because I don't have 3 consecutive years proving my weight/BMI. Ok so I have a high BMI documented in 2008, 2010, and 2011. For some odd reason I never went to the doctor in 2009 and therefore do not have my weight recorded for that year- and because of this I may not be approved. I would have to wait a whole year to try again if it is denied for that reason. I had wanted to wait until June/July to have the surgery but due to my endoscopy showing ulcers and hernia the surgeon wanted it rushed and told me I shouldn't wait that long- but now I may have to wait a year. What? AAUUGGHH! I'm going crazy!!! Do they really think I had a high weight/BMI in 2008 but lost a ton of weight in 2009 and not have a high BMI and then have a high weight/BMI again in 2010. Come on- really? Anybody have a similar situation or any advice???
  17. I also had low Vitamin D. I just took supplements before surgery and still do now as well. You will be able to have surgery! Good luck to you!
