  1. Some days I do half of a bagel thin with a little Peanut Butter but most days I drink a Protein shake and have a little fruit. I love greek yogurt too and sometimes have that with fruit in the morning. I think as long as you are eating something and getting in protein you should be able to eat what you want be it breakfast food or not.
  2. Woo Hoo! 71 lbs in 4 months is AMAZING!!! Congrats!

Got a date and good news!

Congrats and good luck to you!!! July 12th will be here before you know it!!
  5. The ones you listed have a lot of sugar in them that is why they are not recommended. I use unjury Protein. It is the one i can tolerate best. chocolate Splendor is my favorite flavor. I like to use sugar free syrups with mine occasionally as well to mix up the flavors.

    Sugar/Alcohol

I'm about 3 months out and I talked with my nutritionist about alcohol. She told me it would be ok but not to make it a regular habit and to make sure an calculate in with my daily calories and carbs. Like you I wanted to have something while out with the girls. I had a skinny girl margarita first and yes it hit me fast but also the buzz wore off fast too. The second time I had vodka cranberry and it was the same fast buzz but then quickly went away. Both times I felt fine the next day but I didn't over induldge. I agree with doctors using the scare tactic. I understand where they're coming from but I agree more with having everything in moderation. I think that is easier for us to take in as well and not think it will be off limits forever.

    199!

Congrats to you! You are doing great!
  10. So I watched a segment on the Today show this week and read an article about vanity sizing, which is becoming more and more prevalent among clothing companies in the US. Basically it is when clothing designers put a smaller size on larger clothes so the buyer will feel good about themselves and will be more inclined to buy. Companies feel buyers will pay more for a smaller size. Yes I do feel better if it is a smaller size but I also get frustrated when trying to buy clothes because it takes longer to determine what size I am at each clothing store. I wish there was consistency and a standardized measurement for each size like many other countries have. It would make shopping a whole lot easier! What do you all think about this? Do women really need that much of an ego boost? Do we really evaluate our self worth based on the size of our clothing? Will we pay more for a smaller size?
  11. Wow- that is sad! She definitely switched from one disorder to the opposite. I hope she gets the help she needs.
  12. I did go through- "the what the hell did I do to myself" feeling. I loved food and thought I wouldn't be able to have my favorites anymore. Well you WILL be able to just in small amounts. I eat healthy most of the time but now and then i like to have a little of an old favorite. I think that is fine as long as it stays just a little once in a while.
  13. Man I loved that hydrocodone. I can see how people get addicted. I only used it at night but it definitely helped me sleep through the pain! I also refilled it once and so wanted to a second time but didn't- afraid i would get addicted. I also had the hiatal hernia repair at the same time- not sure if it added to the pain or not. Just remember to sip, walk, and rest and you will do great! Good luck to you and you continue on this journey. You are lucky to have your wife there to help you along!
  14. Way to go!!! That must feel great! I have about 9 more pounds until I say good-bye to the 300's. Can't wait!

    What is a honeymoon period?

"Honeymoon period" refers to the time right after surgery when you lose with very little effort. As time goes on you have to work your sleeve a bit more to continue losing. Of course everyone is different so the "honeymoon period" can be longer or shorter for different people.
  17. I think 6 months is the norm. I had to do 6mo with my doctor and like Diva said they had to be consecutive.
