  1. Last week I got a 2cc fill making it a total of 7cc's. Before that I could eat almost anything, as much as I wanted. Since the fill if I don't chew well things really hurt going down like they are stuck. I can't eat as much, and some things get stuck and really hurt. It puts the fear in me like in the beginning to watch everything I put in my mouth, and chew chew chew.
  2. I was banded on 12/21 have had 3 fills since. I think I ave 5cc's in my and. I have very little restriction and can eat almost anything. I try and stay away from bread for the most part and have not tried steak or pork, but everything I have tried has gone down just fine. I am also eating too much at one sitting and find myself still starving at times. I know I have to have control of my eating but I really thought I would get sick if I eat to much or have trouble eating certain foods and besides from scars on my belly I don't even know I have a band. Will it get better with another fill? I have set a goal go to the gym daily and eat better starting Monday, so maybe this will jump start the weight loss again.
  3. The pain feels like something is stuck right above my band forcing its way down. It only lasted a few minutes but i bunched over in pain and it was terrible. Today I was fine and had no problems. I have had no restriction before this fill and could basically eat anything and did not pay much attention to chewing. Now I guess I have a bit of restriction which is great but I have to pay more attention to the chewing and when a food gets stuck I think I will just avoid it. I do not eat bread but had no problem with angel hair pasta before this fill. I guess it is hard to chew because it is so fine. Thanks for all the input.
  4. Got my third fill last week and now have 5cc's in my band. Things I was eating with no problem like angel hair pasta now feel stuck and it hurts like crazy for a few minutes. Will this go away or should I avoid the foods that hurt all together?
  5. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I needed to hear something like this. I was banded on 12/21 and have had two fills the next one is 5/8. I have little or no restriction. I have lost 36 out of the 75 pounds I need to loose and I am off my diabetes meds, however, I know I can eat too much. Maybe like you it will take one or two more fills. Thanks again!
  6. Thats wonderful! How many fills did it take for you to feel restiction? I was baned on 12/21 and have 5cc's and have no restriction at all. I can eat two slices of pizza if I want to. I am usually pretty good about eating but hope my fill on 5/8 does the trick. I have lost about 35 pounds in the 4 month.
  7. 1 Cup of food is ok but make sure it is soft foods so soon after. I was eating that 2 weeks post op just watching that I ate soft foods.
  8. Good job, and good luck with you port.
  9. After my shower tonight a lot of hair was coming out in my hand. I mean have a lot of hair so I don't think I will go bald or anything but is this normal? I am banded 3 1/2 months now.
  10. I had my band on 12/21, the first fill was 2cc's and had no restriction. The second fill was 3 cc's and now I have minimal restriction. I eat well all day but I eat too much at dinner. I didn't think I would be able to eat that much without getting sick. For instance I had two small pieces of pizza tonight. I know i shouldn't have ate that much but my last meal was 6 hours before. I do not eat bread except for an occasional pizza or wrap, I drink no soda. I don't even know how much I should be able to eat. I have never been stuck. Every now and then I will eat something and lay down and when I get up I feel like someone kicked me in the stomache.
  11. Hi, I would love to be a buddy too! i had my band on 12/21 and struggling a bit too. I don't have barely any restriction and I had two fills so far, next one isn't till 5/8. I eat right most of the time but can eat too much. I have 3 teenagers and find very little time to exercise after getting home from work and running them around to sports and such. I have lost about 33 pounds so far but the last two months only about 3-5 pounds per month. Message me if you need to talk! Good luck.
  12. Hi, my band is 11cc and I have 5cc. I have a bit of restriction but can still eat to much I think. I am hoping my third fill does it. Good luck.
  13. I had the same problem, it was worse than the pain. It is from the anesthesia and pain pills. I drank warm tea. Yes it will go away aftere a week or so. Hang in there!
  14. I had my band 12/21 and now have not found any food that I get eat, although I don't eat bread or drink soda. During the liqued stage I did add a little cream soup strained and it helped but I would not try noodles just yet. I can eat angel hair pasta now, in small amounts. You will get through it, and then you won't even remember how tough it was. I love my band and feel great. I know I need a bit more restriction, but in time it will come. Good luck.
  15. I am 3 months post op and still having problems with BM's. If I don't take something I can go all week without going. I found milk of magnesia works well. Also, pain meds will back you up. Good luck!
  16. I have had two fills and have a bit of restriction. I am hoping number three is the charm!
  17. Congrats on your weight loss. Your story is very uplifting and you sound like a very strong person. I feel the same way although I have been banded only about 3 months now. I love it and I can eat a little of almost anything. I don't eat bread and don't drink anything except water and hot tea, and will never try steak, but I haven't had any problems. I don't know if that will change with fills, I only have 5cc's in now. My life has only gotten better, no more diabetes meds and much more energy, and even though I chose to eat the not best things once in awhile I am constantly thinking about what I am eating and much more aware of just how much everyone around me eats. Thank you so much for sharing your story I will pray for your continued success.
  18. My surgery was 12/21 and I am down 6 bags of sugar and proud of it!
  19. Hi, congrats on your one year. I was wondering if you ever had a month where your weight loss stopped or slowed down. I was banded on 12/21 and at my Dr. Appointment on 3/6 I had only lost 3 pounds in one month. I got a 3cc fill on 3/6 and feel a little bit of restriction and have lost 3 pounds in a week. Just wondering if you experienced this along your way. Thanks for sharing your story.
  20. Welcome!
  21. I've been banded almost 3 months and this is the one thing I still have a hard time with. I have been drinking and eating for so many years it is hard not to. I do not drink and eat at the same time because if I start and have no problem than I will start doing it. I would rather not even try because my Docter is pretty strict on drinking with meals. Like bread which I have convinced myself will get stuck even though absolutely nothing else has, I would rather not even try. With drinking I have to wait 20-30 minutes before and after. Good luck.
  22. My first was 2cc's and no restriction. It didn't hurt me just a tiny pinch. My doc made me put my hands behind my head and put my legs up like doing a leg lift and before I knew it he was done. My second last week was 3cc's. I have a little restriction but not there yet. Maybe the third times the charm!
  23. How many cc' made you too tight, just curious.
  24. Hi, I was banded on 12/21 and have lost 28 pounds, however, last month I only lost 3 pounds. It will vary. I don't always make the right food dicisions and I need to go to the gym more but sometimes it is just a waiting to get to the green zone game. I got a 3cc fill on March 6 and I feel slight restriction but still I can eat more than I think I should be able to. Don't give up, it will happen. Hang in there.
  25. We go out a lot and I usually stick with chicken quesadillas on the appetizer menu and eat only half. I also love doing the omelet for dinner cause I can add my veggies.
