  1. I agree with what Eureka-C just wrote, couldn't have said it better myself
  2. I'm nearly 42 and I do worry about it, but to be honest I'd rather have a few more wrinkles (which are easy to take care of with some botox if i was really desperate) than being fat!
  3. I like peanut butter, I use an organic one with no sugar, it's good fats and i like having it on toast for breakfast some days
  4. Good job! I should follow in your steps as I've been stalled for a couple of weeks
  5. I watched that when it was on about a week ago, realyy interesting don't you think? I totally agree with you, i lived my whole life on diet this, low fat that, and only got fatter and fatter. HAving said that I've been on a stall again so I need to start tracking my food again, Ill do it from monday
  6. I was told not to count calories either but I did, until about a month ago, and I stopped losing, so I need to start counting again ASAP if I want to reach my target weight
  7. This is a great NSV, especially because it's so difficult to believe that our skin is ever going to tighten even a bit, hooray!!!!!!!!!
  8. Oh and by no meansare you overreacting, I would be furious!
  9. I agree with what everyone else said, don't let their opinion influence what you do, if you alreadymade your desicion, which you obviously did that's why you have a date, go ahead with it, and let them be amazed when you lose the weight and maybe even feel the confidence enough to tell them to F off! (sorry, feeling a bit angry this morning) Good luck
  10. The only thing I can say is don't weigh yourself too often, you can have weight fluctuations for a number of reasons.
  11. FAntastic Diva, you keep doing such a good job, you'll soon be out the the obese category too!!
  12. Wow that's fantastic BBJ, congratulations!!
  13. I started mushies straight away (day 2 post op) but those are my surgeons guidelines
  14. I did, I did ask my surgeon though because I have a baby and he said it wouod be OK and it was
  15. I would wake her up, blood in throw up can't be good. I've thrown up a few times but never with blood. I would just get it checked.
  16. My Surgeon uses a 36 fr bougie, I was afraid that it was too big, but when I've seen the diameter of my stomach I was amazed at how tiny it actually is!
  17. I am 6 months out and am a bit scared that this is it. It won't be to bad if I don't get to goal as long as I don't put on any weight, I'm just so used to dieting, losing weight(never this much though) and putting it all back on. I guess that will always be a fear for me, so I have to try and keep eating within calories and healthy and exercising!
  18. I think it might be dumping Sx, I got it once, after drinking a peanut butter protein drink that was a bit to sweet, I didn't faint, just felt clammy, sweaty, dizzy, tachicardic, had to lie down and fell asleep for about 10-15 minutes.
  19. It does stretch, but imagine how smaller it still is 4 years later than the original stomach. What scares me is that my surgeon uses a 36 fr bougie, i reall don't want my stomach to stretch!
  20. I'm 6 months out and even though I can eat much more than at 2-3 months out I still feel a lot of restriction especially when it comes to proteins like chicken or any meat really even fish. So I am focusing again on the first protein thing as my weight loss pretty much stopped altogether in the last month or 2. Yesterday I had a piece of salmon about 6 oz (half of what I would eat presurgery as far as protein is concerned) and I could eat a bit more than half of the salmon and then had some veggies. Today I had chicken for lunch and dinner and could manage about 4 oz each time and hardly had any space for anything else, I had about 2 teaspoons of cous-cous. I would say focus on protein and don't drink (I don't drink with my meals now, I did at first) and I'm sure you'll realise that there is still quite a bit of restriction, good luck!
  21. Coops I'm sorry you're going through this. I firmly believe in the cortisol fat stress response, and how it influences how we gain weight (round the waist, i too changed my shape completely in the last 6 years from pear to apple) I know how stressful a teachers job is, my mum's a teacher, so whatever you can fit in to try and make life a bit easier go for it!
  22. If you still have pain and a fever I would call your doctor or go to the emergency ASAP. It could be a leak, I don't want to scare you but I think you should get seen by somebody. Don't worry about the weightloss for now, that will come, just make sure you find out what's going on inside, and keep us posted, good luck!
  23. I reached my goal size(10-12 UK) but not weight. I started a thread yesterday (it's lost now ) about my shopping experience and not believing it was me looking at sizes 10-12. Before surgery I told my husband and daughters that the surgery would have been succesful in my eyes if I got to a size 14,(I was a size 20 before surgery). A size 12 would be a dream come true, and too be honest I never even thought of becoming a size 10. Even though I'm mostly a size 12 now, anything I lose now is a bonus. I called my mum crying when I came back from shopping yesterday, I think I'm still in shock!
