    November Bandsters!

I find tremendous support from this website and especially from the November bandsters. The struggles and the triumphs are something we all go through and it definitely helps to be able to talk to others who know what we are feeling. I think you all are the best and I think we all have each others best interests in mind. I 'm so right there with you PrBrooksie, I have a hard time waiting. It would be great to wake up and be thin, (never been there either), hopefully the help we get here encourages us to do better. I have learned so much from the advice others have given and the stories shared. I'm addicted to lapbandtalk. Love you all! Your inspirational!I sound so mushy today.

    November Bandsters!

I love your new motto Betsyjane. I'm glad that you shared it. Putting it up on my desk! PRbrooksie-When I am tempted to over eat or eat something I shouldn't I ask myself, "Will that taste better than loosing a pound will feel? Will it satisfy me as long as the the feeling of loosing that pound?" Not alot will feel or taste that good. I'm not feeling restriction, but I know what I should it and then stop. If I feel hungry and need a snack I always have a healthy snack on hand. That is key, having it there so you have something to reach for and not that bag of chips or candybar in the back of the cabinet.

Marni-When did you get your band and how many fills have you had? Your menu looks kind of like mine but I try to stay away from bread because of the high carbs. I really need to get the other food groups in too (more vegies and fruit).

What size band do you have? I have a 10cc with 1.33 I am hoping he will give me another 1cc atleast when I go in because of not feeling anything. I am going to be near his office the following week though, so if I don't feel anything I might just make an appointment to see him there.

    November Bandsters!

Thanks Betsyjane. It melted off at first and now I am doing the work. Maybe a pound a week if I am lucky. I get my 2nd fill next Thursday and boy do I need it. No restriction. My doctor is only up this way once a month so I can only get them then. Makes me tempted to drive 5 hours to see him. lol.

Betsyjane- I have done some of the frozen meals and they are ok when you don't feel like cooking or if your in a hurry, but I find "real" foods are more satisfying so you are smart trying to avoid. I keep a few on hand for those occasions when I need a quick meal.:hungry:

Tom- Your idea with the fruit and smoothies is great. I do have a hard time getting in everything I need and your right about the calories in the protein bars. I try to pick the ones with the least I can find and the highest protein (and low carbs). I'm going to try and replace them with some shakes this week.

    November Bandsters!

Oberhasi & BestsyJane- Thanks for the replies. I hope others share too. My days typically look something like: Protein Bar Coffee<O:p></O:p> String Cheese<O:p></O:p> Crystal Light<O:p></O:p> Zucchini<O:p></O:p> 4 slices South Beach Diet lunch meat<O:p></O:p> String Cheese<O:p></O:p> Crystal Light<O:p></O:p> 4 oz. chicken<O:p></O:p> ½ Protein Bar<O:p></O:p> I am really wanting more variety and to get in all the different types of food that I am suppose to have. Not sure how yet. Looking at others helps. I love lapbandtalk.

What is your typical food day? What do you eat and how much? Curious to see what others are doing and looking for some variety for myself. Thanks!

    Strange question

Yes, I have experienced it. I still am and I am no longer on just liquids. I've been cold since I had surgery. I was always hot before and couldn't stand it when the office gals were freezing, so now I wear layers and layers (and still freeze). I'll take cold if that means loosing the weight. I've heard it goes away after a while.

    November Bandsters!

Way to go Connie!!! 43 lbs is amazing. I was banded a nine days before you and I am stuck at 39. Have been for the past week. So frustrating. I exercise atleast an hour a day and stuck. I know this too will pass. I have 2 weeks until I get my #2 fill. Hoping it will give me more restriction. Keep up the great work!

    LapBand Food Stages Lists Suggestions

Will someone please tell me, beans or no beans? In some info I have read it says beans are good but the paper from my doctor says beans are bad, even refried beans. Hmmm. I am going to a birthday party at a Mexican restaraunt tonight and am not sure what to order.
  18. Julie-Your weight loss is incredible. Way to go. I feel so bad about going over 800 a day. I need to get over that. :straight
  19. My doctor said the same thing. Stay under 800, 70 protein, 8 glasses water a day,low carb, low fat. Its hard. I do it but wonder about the calories.

    November Bandsters!

Thanks kjojojr. Good luck at your doctors appt. Let us know how it goes. It just shows you how different everyone is. I live a long way (5 hours) from my doc. so I can only see him once a month when he is up this way. My first fill has helped, but looking forward to #2.

    November Bandsters!

You all seem to be doing great. I just found the November Bandster thread. Love it. I was banded on November 21 by Dr. Jossart from the San Fransisco Laproscopic Associates. I had my first fill last week in my 10 cc. band. Dr. Cirangle put 1.33 in. I feel full longer, but thought it would be more. It did kick my weight loss in again so thats good. I had been stuck at 35 lbs for almost 2 weeks. The fill was Friday and I have lost 3 lbs since then. It's great to see where other November people are. My doc said I was above average for weight loss, but after seeing some of you I don't see that. I do feel great about where I am. Keep up the awesome work and I am glad I found you all!:clap2:

    Lap-Band and autoimmune diseases

I have fibromyalgia. My doctor said he had patients w/fibromyalgia that got better. I had the surgery 2 months ago and haven't had as much pain/"bad days" as I have had. I am excersizing more, which helps fibro. so I think it is a combonation of weight loss and excersize. The only thing is that I can not take anti-inflamatory drugs because they cause a higher risk of erosion. I can live with that though for the benefits of the surgery.

    Cali Bandsters Unite!!

Start taking Airborne now. I was really worried about getting a cold because I work at a school. I took Airborne and stayed cold free. If possible start taking it today. You need to catch it quick.

    banded 5 months today

WOW!!! Way to go. You must feel energized! That is a lot of exercise. I like the idea of the bike with tv. I need to do something like that. I currently walk 1/2 hour in the morning 5 days a week and do Curves 4-5 days a week. One thing i miss..... baked potatoes with butter and sour cream. One thing I think about when missing baked potatoes with butter and sour cream...Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.:clap2:

    Cali Bandsters Unite!!

Thanks monicailer! I can not wait for that fill. I think I'm getting a little obsessive about it. Really can't wait. Doc is only here once a month though. Good luck EdieDay. You are with a good group of physicians. My surgery was great. Let us know how it goes. Remember that the day before is liquids only and nothing with red food dye. Jello counts as a liquid!
