    November Bandsters!

You definately need a fill. I didn't get restriction until my second fill and that was minimal. This third fill is great. I do know how it is when you feel hungry and that is part of the point with the band, not feeling hungry. With the right restriction it will be easier. Every once in a while I get a sharp pain where the port is. Its a weird feeling, but leaves as quickly as it comes and it doesn't happen often. It's good to know someone else feels the same thing, makes me not feel so weird about it. Maybe someone else will be able to tell us why that happens. Where is everyone? Did they all go with Angela to Paris and not tell us?

    losing weight means losing boobs?!

Well, I've lost 54 lbs so far and have gone down from a 46 DD to a 38 DD. I would love to be a C too, but I'm not counting on it. Who knows though, I have atleast another 40 to go and I can't loose that in my butt because there isn't much left there. I'm working from the ground up!

    November Bandsters!

Hi all. I have been reading all your posts and keeping up, just not posting alot. I guess that makes me a lurker.:nervous This is the best group around. I'm going in Friday for another fill. I had good restriction for about a week with the last one, but not much after that so I'm thinking a little more might get me to that sweet spot. My main problem now is a distorted body image. Everyone tells me how great I look and I know that I weigh less now than I have for over 11 years but I don't see that when I look in the mirror. I need my head to catch up with my body I think. I changed 5 times this morning and was almost late for work. Most everything is big, but when something fits like it should I can't stand it and pull and tug to try and make it bigger. I'm driving my husband nuts!
  6. iluvharleys is correct. Airborne will do the trick. I always swear by it. Wish thtat I could take it now! I got a cold about a week before surgery and took it faithfully up until the day before surgery and was fine. But take it now. Don't wait. The earlier in the cold you get started the better it works.

    November Bandsters!

I try to keep a journal, but not always good at doing it. I am much better at it when I am not loosing weight and want to figure out why. I don't really plan my days ahead of time, but I am a creature of habit and my morning and afternoon foods are usually the same all the time or close to it. I try to just count protein and keep my fats and carbs as small as possible. As far as soda goes, I was told it was a no go when I signed up for this and I have stuck to it. I, too, was an addict. A couple cans a day was the norm. I'm too worried about what it might do to me if I did drink it that it stops the cravings. Everyone is doing so great her in the November Bandster group. Way to go. I know I've said this before, but you really keep me motivated.

Thanks Angela! You probably will loose weight with all the walking you are going to be doing. I am so envious. Lucky girl. One of these days, when my kids are grown and gone, we will travel abroad. Until then, I too, would love for you to post some pictures for us.

Tom- You are a crack up!:becky: Given me something to smile about today, thinking of what you might look like bra shopping. lol. Question for everyone: When you are stressed or upset do you feel tighter? Or is it just me?

    November Bandsters!

Thanks everyone!! I feel for you all. I had my first food issue today. Ouch ouch ouch. The worst experience ever. Couldn't even swallow my own spit while it was stuck. Couldn't sit. Walked back and forth from bathroom to livingroom holding my chest and breathing for 45 minutes. Note to self:"Little bit. Chew, Chew, Chew.. Chew somemore. Swallow. Breath. Wait. Breath. Repeat." Hello, that is the number one rule. :phanvan Don't look forward to that ever happening again.
  14. I'm not sure what to do to make it better but I had my first real issue with food getting stuck today. I had went out for lunch with some friends that I only go out with about once a year. Took 2 bites of chicken taco. Obviously did not chew good enough and .... pain. pain. more pain. End of meal. Went home and spent the next hour in pain and sliming. Yuck. Never want to do that again. It was sooo horrible. :think I thought I was going to be one of the lucky ones and never experience that. Boy, was I kidding myself. I will just do my best never to do it again. Note to self: "Chew, chew, chew... duh!"

Thanks everyone. It has been a great day. Even worked in 2 workouts! Tom- I have never been to a TGIF, but will make a point of going next time we are around one. It's amazing what one person's good attitude can do for a business and for life.

I went to a potluck yesterday and did a good job of behaving myself but I did eat about 4 small bits of cake. Must of been what I needed!lol Doing the happy dance all day!!! Tooting my horn!!

Yes. Dr. Jossart did my surgery and they take turns coming up here once a month.

    November Bandsters!

I did decide to wait. My doctor is only up here once a month. His main office is in San Francisco and I had my surgery in San Jose at Good Samaritan Hospital. I wouldn't have the guy that does it here do mine. I researched many doctors and the ones I chose were among the best that do this. Lots and lots of experience. How long ago did you live here? Sure has been changing in the last 10+years.

    November Bandsters!

Ok, so I am sitting here trying to decide if I should go see him today and get more fill. I just ate cottage cheese, fine. I am eating soup. Fine. How do I know if this fill is good or if I need more? He leaves tomorrow. Any advice?

    November Bandsters!

Hi Karen! I am at 2cc as of yesterday. I haven't tried to eat anything yet. I'm going to have some cottage cheese at lunch and see how that feels. All liquids are going down with no problem. I live far away from my doctor too. He said usually between 2cc and 3cc is the right spot for 10cc banders. He said I could go in today if it was too tight (which it's not) or if I really didn't feel anything. He only comes up once a month and it is a 5 hour drive if I want to go to his office in San Francisco. How do you feel? I have never gotten anything stuck. (knock on wood) and never pb'd. (knocking again). Do you feel full/satisfied? I'm not sure how I am suppose to feel. Most of my weight was lost during the first month and very slow since, but I am very happy with the experience so far. You look like you are doing great too. I love this November room. Everyone is so inspiring and full (lol) of great tips. How far do you live from your doc?

    November Bandsters!

Hi everyone! I got my second fill today. Don't feel the difference yet but maybe by tomorrow? Glad to hear that your ok Tom. Brrrr...and what luck with the restraunt. Your servers must have trained here. I think I have had them before. lol. I'm in Northern California and wishing I had that Southern Cal sunshine. I do get to enjoy the ocean so I can't complain too much. And I'm not 9 feet deep in snow. Does everyone else feel as cold as I am since they've been banded? I've always been the one sweating and opening the windows in the office. Now I am turning up the heat!
