awwwww thanks everyone for your encouraging words! it means soooooo much to me! gosh i love your guys and have never met you! LOL! i love this forum, it definetly helps keep me accountable. I stated in the beginning that i would share the good bad and ugly and i meant just that. That is part of what keeps me going is I dont want to have to come back here and say ooops i slipped. Now i'm not gonna put any undue pressure on myself and i will be honesty, but this does help keep me in line. Thanks everyone for checking on me. Wow it's Tues!!!!! 3 more days!!!

Well i survived my first week of my pre-op liquid diet!!!!!YEAH ME!! Nobody is dead, missing limbs and most importantly i'm not in jail!!! LOL! I have officially lost 11.2 pounds that i will NEVER see again in my life!!!Thank you Jesus! I told a friend of mine about how much weight I lost and she actually said see you dont need that surgery! REALLY! And who can live on liquids for the rest of their life! anyway I have had my temptations, but nothing was able to knock me out for the count! I'm soooo shocked and know that it was God that has given my this determination. I've gone to the grocery store when i was "hungry" and had another event that would cause me to eat "emotionally" and i didnt. So I'm here to offer encouragement to other's on this part of their journey or have it coming one day. WE CAN DO THIS! If you find yourself being tempted and you're near your compter get on LBT and go thru the before/after pics to remind yourself what you are working on! If you're not near the computer I found that if I could distract myself for about 10 minutes then the desire to eat would go away. I found out this past week that I only had hunger pains once(last night), all the other times if my stomach growled and I drank something I was fine. I figured out how many times I was just eating in the past cuz I thought I was hungry, it was time, i was bored or hell the sun was shining! I am learning to eat when my body needs it, not when my mind or eyes say eat. Wishing everyone has a good week! 4 more days and i'm a bandit!!!!

hi klove. i am also getting banded on the 20th. so far the liquid diet hastn been as bad as i thought. i think i am soooo determined to do this and looked at me not cheating as a way of judging how serious i was. i am self pay and i am not about to drop $12K to screw it up! LOL! I'll be checking in on you sat to see how you are doing. do you have to stay overnight?

From what i understand the band size is bases on your anatomy and the curvature of your stomach. it has nothing to do with how much weight you have to loose(i thought it would). hope that helps

you have some will power. i'm single so no one else to cook for. that would be torture!!!!! i feel you on the wanting something of substance. i'm fine as long as i dont smell or see someone elses food.! LOL

I am getting banded in Chicago and am self pay with a price tag of $12,500. Mine is outpatient, so no over night stay. This included all my pre-op testing, surgery and one year of fills. So it sounds good to me. Wanna switch prices! LOL!

Ok today is day 5 of the pre-op liquid diet. I'm down 7 pounds!!! Today at work one of our rehab aids comes into the office at lunch time with 2 cakes(just made) and pigs in a blanket made with crescent rolls!!!!!!!!!!!!OMG ARE YOU KIDDING ME! For a split second I was gonna take just one, but then i remember how determined i was to make it through this 2 weeks with NO CHEATS!!! so i packed up my notes, left my desk with my soup and SF jello and choose to do my notes in another room. That may be sad that I had to go through all that to resist temptation, but i'm keeping it 100! i had to do what i had to do. i'm soooo proud that i have resisted all the temptations so far! I am focused and determined to win this!!!! Wow this time next week i will be banded!!!

welcome to LBT! i understand your emotions,. i researched the band for 5 years. As far as the insurance questions i cant help you with cuz i am self-pay. I do know that most insurance companies require a 6 month doctor "guided" diet and to have a psych eval. I had my initial consultation on april 6th...pre-op testing may 6th, started liquid pre-op diet may 9th and wil get banded on may 20th. Not sure what kind of support system you have, but if you dont have one, you can definelty get it here! WELCOME!!!

loved your post! i'm with you on the pics. i've been told that i'm very photogenic, but i hate taking pics. they're so PERMANANT! i'm not married so i have to rig up my camera to take pics of myself, during my journey. best wishes. i am on day 6 of my pre-op diet. 5 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!

i agree with Elizabeth. some of it may be jealous. i personally feel my sister is jealous cuz she wants it to but her husband says no. that being said i only discuss it with her and my mom if THEY bring it up and even then i keep it brief. if people are your 'REAL' friends they will support your decision, all others, push right past them and keep it moving. best wishes hun!

wow 26 days!!!! guess i shouldn't complain about my 2 weeks. it is to shrink your liver, but every surgeon has their own protocol. As far as loosing weight and them not doing the surgery Ive never heard of that. I've been on my pre-op liquid diet for 6 days and have lost 10lbs. i shared this with a friend today and she was like wow see you dont need the surgery! ARE YOU SERIOUS! I've had nuthin but liquids so of course i'm gonna lose weight, but there is no way i can live off liquids only. i just kindly reminded her that i cant live on liquids. therefore i dont think a surgeon would ever say you lost too much weight to have the surgery. Now my surgeon does have a zero pound clause, meaning if you weigh more than you did when you started your pre-op's they can decide not to do the surgery! YIKES! but if you follow the pre-op rules dont see how that could happen. Best wishes to you!

i will be banded on the 20th of this month. i agree with TKW. with everything in life their are people who have a good experience and bad. take having a baby. some women fly thru it with no problems and some women have actually died...not trying to be morbid, just making a point. i have prayed and have a peace about my decision. for everyone negative comment you hear about the band you can find 5 positives..
