  1. This is also a concern of mine. I understand it takes sometime to have a drink and probably can't handle as much but I'm goin follow this thread because I don't know first hand but interested to know
  2. Hi all, I'm new and about to get sleeve next week! Yay! I'm pretty active, can you tell me how long it took to get back into you workouts full strength after sleeve? Also, did you ever get your full strength back? I'm worried about my energy levels with so little calories. Tia!
  3. I had my band removed last year and I'm going for sleeve next week, I'm so happy to hear this because I hated getting stuck w the band, I felt like eating healthier foods were harder to eat than crappy food to get down.

    Low BMI sleevers... results?

So happy to see this question, I am schedule to be sleeved next week and I'm 31 BMI and One of my main concerns is stabilizing when I'm at my desired weight. You both have mad amazing progress in a short time!
  5. I am so frustrated and sad! I was banded in March 2011 - Ive lost 15lbs all together and thats it! I quit smoking and stop wearing the patch the day of my surgery. I recently got a fill and I think Im too tight - I cant really eat anything and when I do it hurts. When I drink water in the morning - it has a hard time going down. I'm embarassed that I got this surgery and my weight hasnt even changed much. The program I am on is a Protein Shake for breakfast one for lunch and thne 3 oz of protein and 3 oz of veggies...its just not enough for me so I do good till about lunch or dinner and then I start eating and now I cant really eat salads cause I get stuck. I exercise every single day as I did before the band and still no change. I have a total of 50lbs I have to lose and its not moving at all.... I dont know what to do!

    MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!

I also was banded on 3/15/11 and only lost 15lbs...I know its discouraging. I quit smoking before surgury and my last day of the patch was the day after surgury - so wondering if that is the reason. I dont eat much but dont lose much.
  7. Hello, just saw your post ! we need to chat =)

  8. Hi Melissa! Very very weird but I had the same doctor and the same exact thing happen to me - i got stuck on a piece of tofu (serious - not a cookie tofu) and had emergency surgery at Bon Secors. I was banded in March and then had the repair done in May. Do you go to the meeting there?

    MARCH 2011 BANDSTERS!

I know what you mean! I am in the same boat and last month my band slipped so now I have to start all over again with liquid in my band. I can go from 184 to 172 in 1 day . Im still hungry and really try to stick to my plan and when I do I weigh 172 that day ....the days I go off I go back up to 184. Very frustrating......I feel like I dont even have a band in....but I guess thats because Im not at my sweet spot. HAve you gotten a fill yet?
  10. I know what you mean! I only had my band for 7 weeks and mine slipped - wow that was painful! They were able to put it back into its proper place.
  11. I would like to share my experience with you all so you can learn from my mistake. Ive been banded for 7 weeks and initially lost 14lbs on the liquid stage after surgury and was having problem after that. I was working out like a horse - 1 hour at the gym with and average heart rate of 145 but I was also consuming and experimenting with foods. I started going for fills and .5 cc at a time - I already had 6cc put in at surgery. I got .5 cc didnt really do much I was even able to eat bread. Then I got another .5 cc and I was suppose to be on liquids and shakes but because I was able to eat the last fill right away I decided to have a piece of tofu...just one lil piece well I got stuck....and started vomiting. So much that I slipped my band. It was so horrible, painful, emotional, embarassing...please listen to your doctors and dietians. Its not worth the pain or the $$$ this will probably end up costing me. I had to go through surgury all over again. But I still have my band will this time I am sure it will be different. Please be careful all and if you feel like you are going to vomit (more than the just being stuck) CALL YOUR DOC, and dont take no for an answer!!!! My NP told me to meet her in the office at 9am after calling at 8pm and then again at 3:30am! I might not have slipped if she met me at the hospital. But I will take ownership of my own mistake and dont want this to happen to anyone!
  12. WELL GOT MY FIRST FILL YESTERDAY AND SUPPOSE TO BE ON LIQUIDS 24 HOURS THEN shakes FOR 2 DAYS THEN MUSHIES 2 DAYS THEN SOLIDS....TODAY I ATE ALREADY. YES, I HAVE 6 CC'S FROM SURGURY, THEY SAID THEY GAVE A GOOD FILL. AFTER MY FILL THEY TOOK AN UPPER GI XRAY TO SEE THE LIQUIDS GO DOWN AND IT WAS FAST - THE NP SAID ILL PROB NEED ANOTHER FILL BUT THEY ONLY GIVE 1/2 CC EACH TIME. THE FILL DEF FELT WEIRD - FELT LIKE A BABY MOVING INSIDE. LOL THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR RESPONDING!
  13. Wondering if anyone has any input. I was banded 4 weeks ago and I get my first fill next week 2 days before my vacation....is that ok? Im a little nervous I might have issues like Ill be too tight and be hours from home with no one to fix me till I get back....but on the flip side Ive stalled with my weight loss and def want to get started with losing again. Will I be able to feel if I am too tight before I leave....do you feel that pretty quickly? When I had my surgery they already filled my band with 6cc so this will be in addition to that. Help...what should I do?

    Plateau...ugh!

Hi Amber, I know how you feel I just went to the doctor today for the same reason. I am 4 weeks out and lost 14 and gain back 2. She explained to me that my working out and small about of calories has effected my weight loss stall - apparently I am not consuming enough calories with my workout routine. She told me to add a protein shake before the gym and more protein after the gym. I decided that I will start an AM workout schedule again to try to boast my metabolism and switch it up. I know it can be discouraging but keep doing what you are doing....I was very discouraged also but when I went to the doctor today and got weighed I found that I lost 1% in my body fat mass and actually 2 lbs in my body fat weight and gained 4lbs in lean muscle mass....and that was quite encouraging even tho I still want all those number down. Good luck!
