  1. Did you guys see that we are the BIcyling group now....
  2. It is funny now but at the time I was mortified. It took me a good 2 hours to get all the wax off not including the ultra hot sitz bath.
  3. Itried giving one to myself once. Bad, bad, bad idea. I ended up on the phone with my mother bawling my eyes out because I could not get up the nerve to pull the wax off. That being said I would have been fine with someone else doing it. Yeah painful but so worth it in the end. I figure that they have had to seen some nasty looking snatch so mine could not possible look that bad..
  4. I am here. SOrry. I have discovered full episodes of South Park online so I have been catching up.
  5. Aww TG that is so sweet =)
  6. Dammit I keep forgeting to pick some up everytime I go to the grocery store. Someone please smack some sense into me so I remember next time!
  7. I can't eat chocolate and candy because it I start I won't stop!!!! Honestly though I can eat anything. I don''t think my band is too loose as 1/2-1 cup of food fills me up very well but I can eat anything in moderation.
  8. My nurse coordinator had a bypass 10 years ago. She has a lot of sagging skin.
  9. Zannie, first off you look absolutely amazing in that picture. Secondly, girl you have got to stop being so had on yourself. I gained 10 pounds in about 3 weeks in december. I have had to work my ass off to get them off. You are doing an amzing job especially with all the heartache you have deaalt with. You are a lap band rock star girl!!!!! Sometimes we just need a break from weight loss. Your band will help you through until you are ready to get burning again. As for shakes do you like pina coladas? Take some liquid egg whites (from a carton near the egg beaters) 4 ice cubes, a little bit of Water, some pineapple chunks and some davinci sf coconut syrup and blend it up. Very yummy.
  10. I have a couple serving of soy daily. Soy milk in my cereal and chocolate soymilk for a snack. Beans and lentils, whole foods. I have not had too much trouble getting in protien. Am I sitting on 80 grams a day? No but I can get 40-50 in easy and that si sufficent for me.
  11. Thanks JC, I hope so too. Ultimately the worst that is going to happen is that I don't get it. If i don't I still have a job so I can't complain too much.
  12. I have no idea whom you could be refering to.... We are all weight loosers. Or wait loosers who like to bycyle.
  13. And I have like 300 more posts than you and have been a memeber 6 months less....now would is the loser lol.
  14. From posting in the bycyling thread so much.....
  15. RTL I feel your pain. My upper body is looking great but my stomach and thieghs are huge.
  16. Detroit, Mi. Yeah I am a badass lol.
  17. I still wear it but I do not log my food. I like to see how many steps I take and how many calories i burn. I am probably going to use it through the summer since I am interested in knowing how many calories I burn during my running and cycling trips. My skin is very loose and it blows. I will definitely need a tummy puck and would prefer a lower body lift. My arms suck too. Food wise I am having problems with staying full. I will eat maybe 1/2 cup max and be very satisfied yet I will be hungry 2 hours later. I can't have another fill because I have enough restriction and I still want to be able to eat. I think it boils down to the vegetarian thing and not eating like solid protien such as meat. I jsut ahve to learn to deal with it and add healthy Snacks just as i have been.
  18. Dammit ZZ I will have to check them at home. Darn firewall. Thanks for the info guys. This interview is kind of a big deal and I am kind of a big deal so it should be a perfect fit eh? One thing I definitely have going for me is that I have been hired for every job I have interviewed for. I might not get interviews very often but I do get offers for jobs once I get the interview. Granted none of them have been this big before. But I am trying to stay calm and do my research. I have 1 week to prepare as my interview is next Friday afternoon. Stay calm, breathe, don't pig out. I can do this.
  19. I will definitely keep an eye out for them. I need a good little snack for work. I love me some almonds but I do try to not eat too many as they are a bit high in fat and calories.
  20. Definitely makes sense. :frown:
  21. Are they like dry like nuts or like a frozen food? Or can you get them both ways?
  22. Where at in the store did you buy them and how many calories do they have?
  23. I started my journey at 278 pounds which was my highest weight ever. I am not really sure exactly how I got there but it is what it is. I never really thought I was that big, I was just kind of in a huge denial of my actual self. I originally went to a seminar in July of 2006 to learn about the bypass. The nurse coordinator and my mother had worked together way back when so she has know me forever. I was convinced to come to the meeting when I saw how great she had looked and that she had a bypass in 1997. At that meeting I learned about the Lapband which I had never even heard of before. I got my info and thought about it but decided to try dieting one last time. I lost 30 pounds that I promtly regained. In Decmeber of 06 I gathered my doctors documentation and had my consult. I could have had my surgery in January but opted to wait until Feb. I had my UGI and psych eval done and I was ready to go. Day of surgery. I was scared out of my mind. I had never had surgery before and I could not get myself to calm down. I kissed my kids and held them tight. Once I went through preop and was lying on the bed I finally got some meds to calm down. I remember being pushed to the OR room and it felt like I was flying there. They transferred me to the bed and the next thing I remember was being pushed to my room leaving the postop area. I have been told that when I woke up in the OR I felt up and down my body and exclained "Holy shit, I am fucking alive" This whole past year has been the hardest journey of my life but the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have struggled with head hunger, emotional eating, plateaus, and frustrations, but it has taught me that I can survive. I have gained a new confidence about myself. I know I am worth more than i ever thought was possible. I know I can be a good wife and mother. I know that even if bad things happen, I can and will overcome them. With the loss of these 85 pounds I have gained a whole new sense of self. I always said that weight loss would never change me but it has. It has opened up a whole new world that I never really knew existed. It has challenged my thoughts of how my life was and showed me just what it could be. Instead of the facade I put on daily I have now gained the confidence to finally truely be myself. I can't wait to find what my second year of banding has in store for me.
  24. Because I have been a rockstar lately and i wanna stay that way.
