Absolutely. You should also drink protien shakes only through one of those little coffee stirrer straws. And yes if you puree macaroni and cheese it *is* considered a protien shake.

Just when I am feeling a bit down in the dumps about my plateau I read this and it makes me smile. Thank you =) There really are some unbelievably amazing folks on here who show just what anyone can achieve with a band if they put a little hard work into it. I definietely vote for having some of them decorating the pages instead of frisky apple lady.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

J, could you possibly stop off in D town and drop off some of that Risotto on your way up? Hehe. That makes me kinda hungry and I can't eat in the mornings. Good morning all my bycyle lovies. I have some major afterglow from last night. Yeah riding does it for me.

ZZ you want to use your easiest gears to go uphill. Test them on flat ground to see how they work. If they are numbered the lower numbers are the ones you want to use to go uphill. I took Big Sexy out for a 4.5 mile spin this evening. Colder than balls outside but well worth it. I am going to be riding comfortable at 13 mph to start the season out. Not too shabby for a girl who could barely break 10 last year. I am amazed at what a smooth wonderful ride it was. Pretty much orgasmic. I am in love.

Dang man you all get talking while I am gone lol. ZZ, Yeah I hear about it sometimes but I just ignore it. People get used to it and eventually stop bugging you if you stop responding to them. J I did not get out ofr a ride yesterday. I did take my parents dog for a walk and go to spin class. It is supposed to be 50 and rainy this morning so it should be dry tomorrow to ride. Tonight the kid has dance class and I have to walk the smelly dog so I don't think I will have time for a ride. HP, congrat on the fall. I htink falls are hilarious after the fact. Like the one time I crashed ODB and flipped over the handlebars teehee. Hilarious.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Firstly I am freezing cold all the time. I turn the thermostat in my office suite up to 82 on a regular basis because the rest of the place is so cold. (You know how cold they keep the OR) which pisses off my coworkers because they are always hot. My hands are cold right now typing. I never used to wear a coat in the winter, even if it was below zero I would jsut wear a hoodie. It was 35 today and i had my winter jacket on. Always cold. I can't wait for summer. As for the exercising, I eat a ton for a bandster. That's why I am not losing weight right now, because I eat so much. When I am biking in the summer the weight will come off again and that is with eating 1500 calories minimum. It is all about how you plan your meals. I eat every 2.5-3 hours and try to have some portien at every meal. Now these are not giant meals but stil more food than most bandsters eat. I would rather eat more and exercise more than eat less. I like food.

J I am not gonna lie, It was effing frigid out there. I wish I had warm workout clothes because I would have stayed out longer. But I had the kids, and their scooters, and after Jared fell in the 4th puddle and was drenched I knew it was time to go home.

First off play with your gears on flat road. Find out how to get your bike into the easiest gear to pedal. That is the gear you want to use on hills to start. Girl when I first got on my bike last May I barely made it a mile. Barely. I thought I was going to die and I would never be able to ride. Within a month I could do 10 miles. It took a lot of hard work and was dicouraging at times but I finally did it. DO be upset you can't do hills now. Eventually when you becoe a stronger rider you will be able to do hills easy. Look back at some of the posts in the first 50 pages of the thread if you have time. You will see things we struggled with and can now do. It will happen, it just takes time.

I don't care that the wind chill here is 24 degrees not including the wind on my face from the feirce speed of Big Sexy. Oh yes I took her out for a spin down the street. I totally heart my shoes, so easy to get out of. I don't think it will be a problem unless I forget I have to unclip. It did take me a minute to figure out how to gear up though. I clicked the shifters and it took me down to the absolute easiest resistance there was but I could not figure out how to get the darn thng back up again. LOL. Duh. I finally figured it out after reading my owners manual. Now I remember them telling me in the store how to do it. I never had such a fancy tbike before. I am in bycyle heaven.

49 degrees and rainy on Thursday means all of the snow will melt.... 50 degrees and mostly sunny Friday means I get to ride Big Sexy.
