  1. you should walk in the house. That is also possible. I started weights at two and a half months. but there was swelling on my stomach. Now I am taking it easy. I do not want complications when every thing is ok right now. all the best. we have to take shakes for some months. Their Protein content is good. so many people continue to take 1 shake even after few months.
  2. I too dont like food...only the shakes...I am sure things will improve..you have lost a huge amount of weight.congrats!!
  3. I am sure you will do well...walk a lot, even in the house.have your Proteins, and plenty of Water...dont take stress. It cause weight gain. the first month is a bit difficult....but then one feels wonderful.lot of positive changes. as for me,my knees are better, scitica pain gone,BP normal, lost some weight so looking better, i am getting back my confidence. I can be successful and I will be successful. best of luck.
  4. luckily I have good restriction.though weight loss is slow. I had a band for 2 yrs. didnt loose much weight. But part of it was my problem. I didnt try enough. This time I am determined to be more successful.more Water more exercise and more Protein.
  5. even I have started disliking food. I only like fish...but now they say it has uric acid.... i like my shakes....but food...oh no...I have developed nausea for most food.
  6. we must not get depressed or discouraged....exercise more..drink more Water...eat more Protein...we are doing something wrong..or we are missing something.. best of luck to all us slow loosers..slow is not bad..
  7. we have inch loss but no weight loss....how is that possible? I am confused about this sentence.though i have also experienced it. My clothes are loose but weight is the same.
  8. Jlang, isnt 500 calories too less? I think you should increase your calories to 800. cheer up..your body is adjusting to this major operation. I am sure you will loose weight soon. all the best.
  9. very true..stalls are so depressing....we all know that its expected, body is recovering...we will have inch loss and so on....yet...a stall depresses us a lot. so lets move it...move our body, more Water more Protein....and make the scale move..
  10. Hi littleton...its wonderful that you are doing well...our doctors maybe different but the operation is the same. a huge part of our stomach is removed and the remaining is stapled.... so most doctors advise to take it easy for 3 months. I was doing fine...enjoying my weights so much....but now I have stopped. wish you success in your journey.
  11. hello..Its too early to do dumbbells i think...I was sleeved on 24./1 .I started dumbbells recently...but had to stop...got swelling on my stomach... we have to only walk for 3 months..till the sleeve heals completely.. Take care. all the best.
  12. Hi Misslu...i am 59..but I forced myself to walk daily...i was walking with a stick...My lap band was not so successful..so I am determined to make this work...walk and rest...you can do that...walking will help in weight loss and also reduce gas.
  13. i was sleeved on 24th jan. I started some weights and upper body exercises. But My stomach has swollen.... so I better stop....I cant walk much due to arthritis. so I was enjoying these exercises with a trainer. Now I better wait till 3 months are up.
  14. I had prepared my self for this surgery. I had lap band earlier...so some of the side effects were the same..infact when I had the band it was a shock to me...felt very weak, could sleep for days and so on...my face became so haggard due to dehydration. with the sleeve I had mentally prepared myself...and so it was not so bad..I had decided that I would be strong and tolerate it. I took inspiration form a cousin who has just recovered from cancer. She suffered so much, surely I can tolerate my minor problems which will soon go away. I thought I would be weak and in bed for days....instead i went to work for some time on the 7th day. Ofcourse the weakness did set in later. all the best to you all.
  15. I agree.its a major surgery and we all suffer initially...but its a temporary phase...why be angry and shout and rant... its our own choice....to become more healthy...
  16. Hi sassy Pants...I too am like you...lets make some change in our diet..try walking more and drink more Water.. Our weight loss is slow slow slow...but we will work at it. all the best.
  17. Hi shersun, Thanks...yes knees are better and I am off my NSAIDS thankfully...dont want to take them ever. without the sleeve i would be on those pills till I died...I am trying hard....its painful...but walk I must. keep in touch.
  18. I too want to go for a knee transplant next year after dropping some more weight.
  19. Hi Linda and Carol....your posts are motivating....thanks...I have been wondering at my slow weight loss.but you have given me new hope.
  20. yes ....if you are drinking less water.
  21. why dont you take something for acidity....try increasing your exercise and water...we do loose at a slower rate....but you must not give up.
  22. hello waitingtobethin....I am sure you will be succesful. are you exercising? having more Water? Proteins? do exercise more...its too tough for me...but I am trying...all the best.
  23. lets all be together and start exercising more, more Protein and more Water. i am sure scales will move. all the best. let us look at what health benifits we have achieved .My BP is normal, backache is gone, knees are better. scitica pain is gone.
  24. I was operated on 24th jan 2014. i was so happy the first month. I lost 18 lbs, no weight loss since then... any change in diet, the day I eat less Protein my weight goes up.another week goes by getting it down. so its climb two stairs and come down one!!!
  25. I too am a slow looser. I lost only in the first month. since more than 1 month no loss. but I have lost in inches. I am now increasing exercise and Water. But the day I dont exercise the weight goes up. not fair.
