  1. loki - i had Dr. Tobin..A lot of people have had issues with him, but I had no problems...I guess they just want to make sure "we can handle the change"...He asked me a bunch of questions about my eating habits, excercise, etc.. at the same time he gave me some great tools to use during and after surgery...Personally, I think he went through the process of some type of Bariatric surgery...Just my opinion though.... He was different but knowledgable...Yeah....It is kinda hard to have to do all these different things to get the band, but I can say this, and it's my personal opinion, I have LEARNED a lot from everyone I've met through this whole thing. I think that yeah it's a long and tideous process sometimes, but in the end all of the knowledge you pick up is put to good use.:scared: I do hope you get a date soon...They are usually very quick at setting things up..Keep your spirits high!!! Keep me posted!!
  2. Congratulations everyone!! Keep the positivity comming!!!!:scared: We ALL need it!!!!

  10. I'm going to have to try the Myoplex..I was drinking the Ensure's High Protein (230 calories) but I have to lower my calory intake to less then 200 a meal...let's see what happens..I'm also going to have to try the soy milk..How are you feeling? Are you maybe having more to eat at night? It might just be the end of the day and "Bandy" is just struggling to keep up...:cry

  12. I 've told:  my hubby (of course) - Super duper supportive and is behind me 500% (although he tells me every day that he is going to miss my "thickness") but nervous about the surgery:cheer2: :gossip:My best Friend- super duper supportive (she gets me to excercise daily):cheer2: co-workers and other friends - some are ok, others are just clueless to what the band is... family - Some are ok with it:) , some think it's just wrong:eek: !! i say to all of them.."It has taken me a very long time and a lot of HARD work to get this far and I hope you understand and support my decision. If you don't then it's your loss." No one is going to change my mind!:cheer2:
  13. :wave:Hi everyone! My nutritionist told me that if the food is sliding down, then it's chewed enough...I asked my MD and he also said that people chew differently..it might take me 25 chews and it might take someone else 40...so, I think it is a personal "chew"...
  14. Hi Tinabartlett! Congratualtions on your band!! Hope all is going well!!
  15. Prissever - It's normal to be nervous...Just remember that if it wasn't meant to be you wouldn't have gotten this far! Think positive and "try" to take your mind of it...I usually take a walk or talk to someone close to me when I'm nervous...I'm sending good thoughts and prayers your way!!! GOOD LUCK!!!
  16. True.. I know they do make chewables for adults..they are a little hard to come by, but they are around...
  17. I have always heard how much better soy is especially for women, but I've never tried it...I guess it's something to look into... I just bought some liquid vitamis today "Ultimate liquid multi-vitamins" at Bj's (like Sam's)..Cherry flavor..yum!

:update: :update: :update: :update: OHH MYY LORD!!!! i went to the see the surgeon today and am I excited or what!!!!:biggrin1: :biggrin1: :biggrin1: I got the results of my lab work and everything was great..I LOST 2 more POUNDS!!!!:clap2: A little fatty liver, but he said it wasn't to much to worry about. He said if I can loose 5 pounds before the surgery it would be great...So, now I am on a 2 Protein shakes a day and a "sensible dinner.." Liquids the last 24 hours before surgery (my choice to do) and LOTS OF LIQUIDS (as always)..... After my appointment I went over to BJ's (similar to Cosco) and bought the Adkins shakes chocolate and vanilla (I had a chocolate one :scared: (YUCCKK!!!!) They are NOT very tasty...so I have to keep the choc ones and return the vanilla...I guess we'll just have to try other things...At Bj's met up with my bestest friend and her husband and we went walking:faint: I MEAN POWER WALKING.. We did 2 miles and had to stop because I got dizzy (weird) I guess the excitement got to me.I ate some skittles (i think it was due to low sugars) and felt MUCH BETTER! We decided to call it a day and come home...I picked up my children from school and here I am...I will have some Crystal Lite Ice Tea/Lemonade and maybe do some excercises on my excercise ball! 10 days and counting!!!!
