  1. So if you are on a liquid diet' date=' can you chew food and spit it out before you swallow it? This way nothing goes down the hatch, but you still get to taste real food. I am getting desperate lol[/quote']

Lol yes thats cheating... Plus you're only tempting yourself to swallow so I would avoid it at all cost.. Wait till u get to soft liquids then u can actually blend your food to liquid or purée it

  2. I've noticed something when I go out to eat with my friends now since I've had surgery. They really pay attention to the amount of food that I eat' date=' and then they try to eat a small amount of their food also. Or they ask me what I'm ordering and they get the same thing. I don't like all the attention being placed on what I'm eating or not eating. I just like to enjoy being out and socializing.

I have one friend in particular that I was hanging out with yesterday who knows that I recently had WLS, but insisted that she wanted to eat at Raising Cane's, which has absolutely nothing that I can eat, even though she had just eaten there the day before. I told her I couldn't eat there, and then I told her what places I could eat, and she says those are all sit-down restaurants, and she doesn't want to go to a sit-down restaurant. I was pissed, I sometimes can't believe the level of her selfishness. I mean, is it wrong for me to ask that we go somewhere that we BOTH can enjoy????[/quote']

When people watch way you eat and mimic your actions 9/10 they wanna follow in your foots steps. They see that your getting positive weight loss results and they are envious. Some bad, some good who knows. Now that you're eating lesser portions its not their fault that they choose to eat less when you all go out to eat, it's usually a psychological response.

On to the next topic, I'm not too sure if you attended any support groups Pre and post surgery but they talk about those kinds of friends who unintentionally try to sabotage you. She is definitely one them, she prolly doesn't know it yet but she's the bad enabler. If she is not satisfied with going somewhere else to eat by all means feel free to pass on the invitation and let her invite someone else. Trust me, you best bet is look after número UNO before make group decisions. Sometimes being selfish on your part is a good thing.

You are definitely not in the wrong, especially if she KNOWS u had wls then she is just trying to sabotage you intentionally!

  3. Thanks' date=' Jimmy. I am feeling pretty good. Some crampy gas pains, but overall, I feel ok. Thirsty as heck cause they won't give me anything until day 2, but better than I expected. Looking forward to hearing all of your stories as well![/quote']

Yeah they are giving ur body time to heal from the surgery plus they want to prevent leaks so your in great hands!!!

Tell us about day 2 when u get the chance!

  4. Ok that's good maybe one day we can meet up. Do you have a date for surgery yet

Yeah the 27th of April... No time yet tho :(

Btw you will be in great hands at pres, they treated me very well when I was patient there in 07, too bad it's a teaching hospital and you might run into a few students

  5. I wasn't afraid either (3/21/12) because I had a full hysterectomy before. But when I saw the surgery room I freaked. They said to me " ok we are gonna send you anywhere you want to go' date=' where do want to anastesia vacation?" I said, I want to shop in a non fat girl store. They asked me to count backwards and I did in dress sizes lol[/quote']

Lmao, I'll be counting down the lbs

  6. Hey y'all' date='

Well I guess I am the first April sleever, since Sunday is the first day of the week here in Kuwait, and I am going in tomorrow morning. Hopefully, I will be able to post good news soon. My sugery is set for 8:00am. That's seven hours ahead of EST. All positive energy and prayers are welcome. Take care![/quote']

We are all cheering for you, Carly! Since you're the first up you will be setting the movement in motion come tomorrow!

  7. Jimmygotsoul the April movement is coming!!! Everybody is jumping on board! I'm so excited about all of us!! We are counting on you to bring it home!!!

Yes, yes yes! Lol I'll definitely bring it home to complete this life changing opportunity for all of us future April sleevers!

One hand wash the other, both wash the face lol

  8. Hi Jimmygotsoul! My surgery is April 12th and I'm experiencing everything you mentioned above but the hubby has been helping me to keep calm and carry on. He asked me something that really made me think. He said "If you don't have the surgery will you be ok with things staying as they are and your health getting increasingly worse and then the surgery not be an option?" That really opened my eyes and had me thinking oh ****! What if my blood pressure got so bad that I could no longer have the surgery. Case closed...lol So I'm moving ahead to the 12th.

You hubby couldn't be more accurate, he definitely hit the nail on head. Actually that is the same reason why I'm so confident right now. I'm mean I have the jitters but I'm human so it's okay. With the obesity numbers rising in the U.S tremendously this surgery will be a life saver for all of us! so I'll be glad to be an sleeve graduate come April 26th lol.

I'm glad youre making the right decision and going through with it. This is a game changer, no its a whole new ball game and I'm excited to be a participant in the main events to come!

    Go us!

  9. I've noticed this trend for sure. I have 3 degrees' date=' and can't get entry level jobs. I've beenstuck in a temp position for over a year now. I know part of it is when my size 22 suit hals into their office, all they see are dollar signs drifting out the door and into my doctors lap, even though I'm pretty healthy other than my weight. It's sick really. Too bad it can't be proven.[/quote']

It will never be proven because lawsuits would leave companies bankrupted from discrimination and that's "bad" for the economy
