Dont you have a network of doctors and hospitals available to you through Amerigroup? I'm with Empire BC/BS and I am able to look up doctors and hospitals through their website.
their website is not helpful to say the least. I've called them multiple times for assistance and i swear the workers on the other end must have been new employees because they didn't understand or know what i was talking about. They continued to pass me on to the next person like i was causing them trouble.

Loose skin is always better than being big boned... Just work out as much as possible to reduce the excess skin while you're losing weight.

That's not the reason why you should get it sooner than after the VSG, it's because of the staples they use are the big ones (temporary) and not the smaller (permanent). The reason you go through VSG before the DS is because the doctor NEEDS you to lose a significant amount of weight before he/ she attempts the DS for safety reasons. He/she wants to lower te risks at all cost. Depending on how much weight u lose in the first month, the Dr will calculate when the best time is to complete the second part of the procedure.
Bigger staples are most likely to leak, but easier to remove if necessary
Smaller staples are less likely to leak, but harder to remove if necessary

Never knew they had a chatroom

I am currently with Amerigroup/Medicaid i was suppose to get sleeved July 2nd, but i found out a week before surgery that the Doctor does not accept my insurance, smh. They told me there was a mix-up in the paper work. Mind you, I've been going to him for month and discussed everything from thick to thin concerning the whole entire surgery process pre and post. Now i'm stuck looking for a Doctor who accepts my insurance in the NYC area. If you of any doctors that accept it please feel free to help me out.

No, I disagree with rootman... Don't delete him! Keep posting pictures Everytime you lose weight in a nice dress. Let him suffer Everytime he looks at your profile pic. Kill him through kindness. Trust me... I was Mr. Fitness in HS and halfway through college and now I'm Mr. Chubby.lol that's right and that's because everyone does have the determination to continue going to the gym and he will lose his soon in enough. So when he starts to gain weight just ask him one question... How's the gym treating you?
Kill him through kindness!

The Pre- liquid diet is not necessary but HIGHLY recommended because it's beneficial for you as the patient and the doctor performing the surgery. The smaller the liver the quicker the surgery due to lack of complications caused by the liver getting in the way of the stomach. Plus it can even speed up or slow down the recovery process.
Following the doctors instructions are definitely a plays because he or she knows what problems they tend to have during the performance of the surgery.
I'll have my surgery in a month but I've actually practiced the liquid diet requirement several types to train my mind and body.

Is that the same for men, jus a thought lol

I agree with doggeoomer. It's definitely a cleansing process because you've practical clean your whole entire system out that your digestive system is starting to work normally so it's actually re-adjusting

Sounds like an abdominal sonogram... That's one of the Pre opt test required for me also. They basically measuring the stomach and food intake process..

I agree, eat what you want in moderation but make all healthy choices in the process. Eat for taste not for hunger. If you want sweets look for a healthier substitution
-
Congrats! I'm scheduled in 2months so I'm excited myself not looking forward to the pain but I think a little pain is worth a lifetime change!
-
Moderation that's all I can say. If u want to something that's bad for u, sample it don't eat it. In other words eat for for taste not for cravings

Im concerned about that TOO cause I definitely woke up during my vena cava surgery and I started to panic but the doctors kept telling me not to move. After awhile I jus laid there then they knocked me out again worst experience ever!!!

I know quite a few people with the band and I highly recommend you harass someone to come pick you up for your own safety. Would you driving home is you were drunk and could barely walk??? Well the drug they will pump you with is similar in effect.
I hope you the best and a speedy recovery

Yeah I heard the same thing. The more you move around the better you body adjusts to the band and it helps a lot with both the gas and would

Your surgery is closer than mine. Im scheduled for surgery late June around the same time and I'm nervous myself, but I guess that's the point. When we make big decisions, we seem to get lost in the process of it all. All those feelings you are having now, embrace them because in a few months you will look back and laught at it all... I heard the more you weigh the quicker you will lose weight so expect a dramatic loss of weight within the first 3-5 months IF you listen to your body.
I wish you the best of luck. I'm personally going to get the sleeve myself.
Good luck with the survey and I wish u a speedy recovery

I'll be honest with you your trainer stated that the surgeons are only interested in making, well trainers are doing the same exact thing. They are both selling you a new lifestyle change, difference is training is much harder work and the results you are looking for is not always promised. At least with surgery, you will have that assistance needed to complete the hard work necessary in the gym. Your trainer is only upset because he felt like he failed you in his own mind and I think that's a personal problem. Training is a business, sure your trainer may talk to you and get personal, but at the end of the day it's a business. Do what's right for YOU, don't worry about what others think because they don know how it feels to struggle with weight and hunger, period!
I'm proud you took the higher ground with your trainer, I say I he chooses not to respond to you email (which I found inspiring and respectable) that's his loss. Find a new trainer and start from scratch.
Good luck with your future surgery and have a speed recovery... Best wishes!

I heard rumors about Hair loss also but it all depends on your age range and dieting habits.
