  1. Inspirational post... Happy to know that these minor problems are all apart of the recovery process and weight loss journey... Thx for the inside view
  2. You jus need to stay on a "clear liquid diet" u really don't need that much protein till after surgery. The main goal is to shrink your liver enough to eliminate complications and make things easier. So yeah chicken broth, jello, apple sauce, Gatorade will do...

    Tmi- on liquid pre-op

I agree with doggeoomer. It's definitely a cleansing process because you've practical clean your whole entire system out that your digestive system is starting to work normally so it's actually re-adjusting

    NM Gastric Emptying

Sounds like an abdominal sonogram... That's one of the Pre opt test required for me also. They basically measuring the stomach and food intake process..

What to have instead of Birthday Cake?

I agree, eat what you want in moderation but make all healthy choices in the process. Eat for taste not for hunger. If you want sweets look for a healthier substitution

    WEAK AS WATER!!!! =(

Moderation that's all I can say. If u want to something that's bad for u, sample it don't eat it. In other words eat for for taste not for cravings
  8. Im concerned about that TOO cause I definitely woke up during my vena cava surgery and I started to panic but the doctors kept telling me not to move. After awhile I jus laid there then they knocked me out again worst experience ever!!!

    Cardio -vs- weight training

i worked at nysc for years and i can honestly tell you that weight train SHOULD always go first. you get way better results in weight loss, strength, endurance, and energy level

    Endoscope

I know quite a few people with the band and I highly recommend you harass someone to come pick you up for your own safety. Would you driving home is you were drunk and could barely walk??? Well the drug they will pump you with is similar in effect. I hope you the best and a speedy recovery
  11. Yeah I heard the same thing. The more you move around the better you body adjusts to the band and it helps a lot with both the gas and would

New, scared, have an insane amount to lose!

Your surgery is closer than mine. Im scheduled for surgery late June around the same time and I'm nervous myself, but I guess that's the point. When we make big decisions, we seem to get lost in the process of it all. All those feelings you are having now, embrace them because in a few months you will look back and laught at it all... I heard the more you weigh the quicker you will lose weight so expect a dramatic loss of weight within the first 3-5 months IF you listen to your body. I wish you the best of luck. I'm personally going to get the sleeve myself. Good luck with the survey and I wish u a speedy recovery

    negative feedback

I'll be honest with you your trainer stated that the surgeons are only interested in making, well trainers are doing the same exact thing. They are both selling you a new lifestyle change, difference is training is much harder work and the results you are looking for is not always promised. At least with surgery, you will have that assistance needed to complete the hard work necessary in the gym. Your trainer is only upset because he felt like he failed you in his own mind and I think that's a personal problem. Training is a business, sure your trainer may talk to you and get personal, but at the end of the day it's a business. Do what's right for YOU, don't worry about what others think because they don know how it feels to struggle with weight and hunger, period! I'm proud you took the higher ground with your trainer, I say I he chooses not to respond to you email (which I found inspiring and respectable) that's his loss. Find a new trainer and start from scratch. Good luck with your future surgery and have a speed recovery... Best wishes!
  14. I'm in Brooklyn, New York and i was wondering is there any doctors in NYC that takes Amerigroup (medicaid) insurance? because I've been looking and i cant seem to find anyone that would accept me and its getting very frustrating and depressing.
