  1. Hey all first fill went well. I had it done on the 14th on November and I still feel restriction. My next fill is December 20th... right before Christmas so that will be nice!!! I've been walking a lot and that is giving good results but I haven't started exercising regularly so that is my next mini goal =) Hope everyone is having a good week and has a good Thanksgiving!!!!!!

  2. thanks!!! not really lol but I look at myself everyday ... I see small differences when I look at my surgery day photos near my waist and I felt the loss a while ago when my pants were getting to big. I have lost one pant size but haven't gotten new ones yet so these are still really baggy =0

Congrats !,,,,,, Can you see a difference yet ?

  3. Whoops I also forgot to mention I have reached 50 lbs lost in this journey so far!!! WOOT WOOT ** does happy dance**:Dancing_wub: :success1:

Hey fellow bandsters!!!!! hope everyone is doing well =) I have also noticed I've been eating every two hours or so and I am eating a larger portion before feeling full. However my first fill is next Monday on the 14th so I will have to continue sneaking my Protein Shakes in for low calorie/full feeling "eating" :P

  4. OHHHH by the way has anyone thought about setting goals? I believe amyrose said she wanted to do a 5K which is also in my future :D but was wondering if people had thought about setting weight loss goals by certain dates or any thing like that yet? I want to just to keep it like a competition with myself (nothing to be discouraged about if I don't reach it) but I've already lost weight and wasn't sure if it's a good idea to do now or wait until I know how fast my body will be losing.... but if starting it now I'm not sure if I should set for something like thanksgiving or new years or both??? Just wondering what you guys were thinking/planning!!!

  5. Had surgery Friday the 7th and I'm already feeling SO much better... i didn't really feel that bad to be honest.. just the normal pains....I was so excited the day of surgery checked in at 730am and was leaving by 4( i chose to stay later because I wanted to leave and I walked way too fast too soon and drank a big gulp of ice cold Water out of habit so I hung around for another hour so my queasiness would go away) Learned my lesson!!! LOL

Still having lots of abdominal gas pains from the Carbon dioxide but I know that's because I haven't been walking nearly as much as I should... when I do walk I feel difference immediately so I'm aiming for a 10 min walk tomorrow outside the house

Hope everyone else is doing well!!!!

  6. I am on day 12 (i started a few days early too) and I am actually having what seems to be the opposite of others in the way of problems w/ the shake diet. I started out with 4 shakes and plenty of fresh veggies, now I am not hungry enought to do more than 2 shakes and I am eating very little if any veggies. I am simply not hungry. I know I need to get in the Protein, and I actually do like the shakes I have, but wow there is no urge to eat at all. Anyone else have this?

I had my surgery on the 7th  and yes I had the same thing... I did a pre-op of shakes and bars for 17 days and was supposed to have 7shakes and 2 bars a day. The last few days I wasn't hungry at all and only ended up having 3 shakes and one bar... as long as you're still eating something then I wouldn't be too worried. It helped me unintentionally because I knew I wasn't going to be eating a lot after surgery... Hopefully this helped! Good Luck on your Journey!!!!!!!!

  9. Hey Friends!! Day 3 for me (pre-op diet) =) all is well and I thank my roommate because she doesn't like to cook and she only keeps spaghettios in the house which I don't like anyways =D So it's been really easy not to cheat at home. I work at a target and seeing some of the food stuff I thought would make me "sad" or make me want to cheat but nothing has made me want too so that's good! I started stocking my house with stuff I need for after the surgery- like gas-x, and flavored water, and chicken broth.... It's officially two weeks until I'm banded =D I'm so VERY excited!!!! hope everyone is doing well

also I started a blog on my lap-band journey if anyone wants to take a look =) ( I was doing one here but this new one you can make all pretty and I find it much more user friendly)

  10. Hello everyone!!!! My name is Cheryl, I'm 24 and my surgery date is October 7th :D. I started my journey in Feb this year and have come so far already! I start my pre-op shakes and bars tomorrow but have done them before (my doctor offers a very low calorie diet using the same products which I did but couldn't stand not having food for so long so I opted out of that after two months lol). I'm very excited for the surgery and glad we finally have a group! I live in Milwaukee WI and hopefully someone is willing and close enough to do gatherings... I think I saw a few of you in the Chicago area and I am totally willing to drive the distance to be with some people who are experiencing the same sorts of things.

I've learned so much information already so I will share when I can and Good Luck to everyone on their journeys!!!!!!!

  11. I'm sorry that lady was rude to you!! Do what you feel is right...It's your life and you're the one who decides your happiness and your future. Look at your past and reflect on how far you have come in this process. People are judgmental no matter what you do. You're too heavy, you're to skinny, you don't look good in this or that and the list goes on forever. Unfortunately we live in a society that condones people to act this way =/ Clearly you are here because things have not worked in your favor in the past for losing weight. This is your life and you decide what to do!!!!! What ever you choose good luck with all you do!!!!!

  12. when i wrote my letter I put things in it like all the stuff I can't or won't do because of my weight and things I want to do like ride a roller coaster again and feel comfortable in my own skin, and being in a swimming suit etc. A big thing for me was putting that I wanted to be happy. Just be honest with it because you're the one making the changes and you should be honest with yourself, not just putting things down so the doctors can mark it off the "to do" checklist. '

Hopefully this helps!!! Good Luck with everything!! =D
