Found a couple of recipes that I tried this weekend. All I can say is I was pleasantly surprised, because these are sooooooo good!!!
Salty & Crunchy Treat
2 bunches spirally kale (could prob use any type)
Olive oil (didn't measure - just enough to lighly coat kale
salt & pepper to taste
Optional;
I sprinkled mine with a light dusting of Parmesan & Romano cheese (cheap stuff in the shaker bottle)
Bake @ 350 for 12-15 minutes.
Sweet Treat
1 Frozen banana (cut to bite size and freeze 1-2 hrs)
splash of almond milk
vanilla flavor to taste
Blend in food processor until smoothe - soooooo good!
Hope ya'll enjoy, I know I have - bye bye pringles and Ben & Jerry's

I hope ya'll enjoy - also needed to note that you should freeze any portions you cannot consume withing 24 hours, tends to not settle too well after that amount of time, but defrosts fine - go figure

Off topic, I know, but have you ever thought of being a writer - your way with words is so fluid!
Congrats and good luck for your journey

Came across this idea online a couple of weeks ago and can't even remember where, so I make no claims to this being my idea. An easy way to fit in your 5 a day is with a smoothie. The base for the smoothie is a cup of spinach and 2 bananas - then add fruit and veggies as desired. My usual is;
1 cup spinach (I use frozen)
2 bananas
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup sliced apples (with peels)
1 small can sliced pinapple with juice
1 cucumber (with peels)
1 pack berry blend Protein mix
Enough Water to blend
It's quite tasty! You don't "taste" the spinach but you sure see it, and the cucumber gives it a fresh flavor with no real taste because the sweetness of the fruits dominate your taste buds. As a bonus, adding this to my diet has broken my latest stall.
If anyone tries it, let me know what you think and any variations you've tried that are yummy (especially one with more veggies than fruit)

I second the question on not having answers on patient profile - my doctor isn't listed in the drop box and there is no option to type a name in. I also don't know the total cost of my surgery?????

I love this idea! It's no longer Friday, but since I haven't gone to bed it still is for me, lol.
My confession is that I do not eat slowly. I finish eating within 2 minutes. My restriction feels the same at almost a year out so I'm not sweating it.
I blame the public school system, i used to get an average of 7 minutes to eat!

It took me months after surgery to be able to burp again, and I wasn't told of any problems, so I'm not sure what the deal was. All I cab say is good luck and hope you find relief soon!

You could ask your surgeon at follow up appointments what they recommend or use a BMI calculator to find a weight that would fall in normal range at your height. Good luck.

Hope you have a great time!

I remember that I had one site that really bothered me and remember mentioning it at my 6 week check up and was told it was most likely the inner stitch still healing. With the little scars on the outside it sometimes escaped us how much went on, on the inside. As always, your best bet is to check with your doctor, always better safe than sorry. Hope you feel better soon!

I normally drink a grande skinny vanilla latte breve, it's a little lower on the carb count I think but higher on calories - just depends on what you want to cut down on. I try to keep it a weekend only thing but now that it's getting cold, who knows!

Ooooh, that sounds interesting. I've made myself only weigh once a week since I can let a bad weigh in really bring me down and then I go back to old bad habits. I would love to be able to walk away from it for a month at a time at some point - let us know how it goes!
-
The only times I've been worried about it is when I've had way too much coffee in a day or have gotten into something sugar free. It's not different than before surgery for me though - your stomach will let you know it's not happy (or at least mine does)

Thanks guys!

It looks like more of a weigh loss than 50 pounds to me. Looking good, congrats!

Amazing! Congrats

I actually got hit on tonight! Not something that ever really happens to me, but anyways, he seemed really nice, was attractive and clean cut and funny. So, I gave him my number for us to text and see what happened from there.
So we began texting and he was so complimentary, but then.........
Why is it men have to turn texting into SEXTING??? Yes, sex is part of life, but come on! How about spending time getting to know something about someone before bringing it up.....on the first night? Sorry that I'm on a rant here, but it just sucks.....I was so excited. Now I have to wonder if it's him or if I put out some sort of vibe that says that would be okay.

Thank you, and congrats to you on meeting your first goal, I can't wait to get to Onederland myself.
Heck yeah, it's a success story! Woot!
Lol, I was hoping I wasn't the only one who thought so Thanks!
: ) doesn't that just make you feel special ... were all ear - so keep us posted... he just may ask you out ...
Yes it does........oh lordy, I hope not, I don't date coworkers, it's so awkward.Wow, you're just kicking butt and taking names aren't ya? Congrats on your loss, it's amazing!

You know, most of us didn't have surgery to attract more attention from the opposite sex, but that attention certainly feeds the ego, doesn't it? I would call your experience a success story! And, seeing your picture, I see why he is tripping all over himself trying to get a peek at you! You're beautiful!!
Awwww, thank you so much!

Okay, we all know that as we lose weight, we begin to carry ourselves differently and some of us make changes. Well, last weekend I got a haircut, a completely different look. I always wore my hair in a bun to work for the last several months, but Monday I went in with my hair down. Needless to say, it got a good bit of attention and comments. But what I didn't know about was what happened on the other side of the room until one of my friends told me - one of the new guys fell out of his chair trying to get a look at the "new girl", lol! I don't think I stopped smiling the rest of the night

We had surgery very close in time, and our weight losses are somewhat in line with each other. I admit I have fears of never even reaching Onederland, much less goal. Then I look around the site and see those who are still losing at 18 months. So it sounds very promising for hopefully both of us! Good luck and keep working it!

I use Depo (the 3 month shot) and love it. I've been using it for about 15 years with no problems, and no periods. I highly recommend, but do warn that some women do gain weight with it, but I've been lucky there as well. Good luck in your research.
