  1. Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter!

  2. I did my first coffee today (beginning 5 weeks), I got a skinny cinnamon dolce at SB.....yum. It got me to wondering what other folks order. Do you make it a treat and do full fat, full sugar or do you try to make it leaner........also, is there any way to make mine any better?
  3. My mother had "stomach stapling" when I was four. I grew up with her being "different" from other mom's. She ordered from the kids' menu, she often got sick if she drank too soon after eating. She used her tool pretty effectively and I saw the day in, day out life of a person with WLS. I think this has given me an advantage. I have not once asked "what did I do to myself?" and have not once regretted surgery. Granted, I did a LOT of research that did prepare me, but I think the psychological aspects have been easier for me because of my Mom. What do you guys think?

    Where are my Flirty Thirties?

I'm 34 and lordy do I remember tight rolled jeans. I didn't wear them, but remember the preps wearing them. I was grunge before grunge was cool, then goth before goth was cool. I just never had anything to do with fashion.....but always wanted a pair of Converse, maybe now's my chance, lol. I wish I'd had surgery in my 20's since I was single for most of them, but here's hoping the last half of my 30's are better in that aspect. If not, at least I'm happy alone
  5. Dang! Wish I'd seen your post sleeve 4 me while I was out and about, I would have been all over that deal, there's 2 SB in reasonable driving distance to me, hehe!
  6. Just curious what people will be eating......also, please let us know what stage you're in. I'm on pureed/mushy and plan to have deviled eggs and maybe some puree ham with mustard (sounds really good)

    Returning to Work??

It depends on your job and your doc. I'm not released to lift more than 15 pounds for 6 weeks and of course lifting is a large part of my job. Physically, I felt fine after the first week.
  8. Congrats, it will be the best phone call you ever made!

    I'm scared

Your fears are completely normal. I think everyone has them at some point. I had them all before I really decided to have surgery, once I decided I was calm. I slept very little the night before and therefore slept most of the day after surgery. Try doing positive affirmations regarding the surgery and your life after, it really can help. Good luck, and we'll see ya on the losing side

    Judgy McJudgerson

Kudos to you. Sometimes we need to trim the fat in our lives too, not just our bodies. I had to end a 25 year friendship because I FINALLY realized that every time I spoke with the person I was stressed out.....not conducive to a healthy life. Do what you gotta do for you, 'cause nobody else is gonna do it for you. Good luck!
  11. Trying to figure out what I will be able to eat Sunday.....puree ham with mustard? Actually, that does sound good :)

    Hotdog and pickles??

I'm starting week 5 myself and have been thinking of hot dogs too.....I usually cut up a bell pepper, and heat in skillet with the hot dogs, yum-yum.....can't wait!
  13. I double checked on caffeine with my NUT today and he said it was fine, within reason. He said if I choose to drink it to boost my water intake to counter the diuretic effects, so no biggie.
  14. Welcome aboard, and congrats on getting booked. Here's to a thinner future and more Lowe's flirtin'.

    unbelieveable

I can't wait to get in 16's....or any teens for that matter, been a long time. Congrats on your success, it's amazing!!!

    I need a new scale...

I upgraded before surgery to the fancy H.O.M scales, but beforehand I had the $25 set from WalMart and they worked very well. I just didn't like that other people could access my user account by just tapping once or twice on the scale (4 neices who love to play with scales everytime they visit) so decided to upgrade to more "private" type of account access, but if you have no worries on that - they're great!
  17. I am on week 5 myself and had a soft taco supreme from Taco Bell pureed (no shell of course) with lettuce and I had no problems with it, although my tummy did make a little more noise than usual, but my diet has been fairly bland. I have also had a bit of cabbage from an egg roll when eating the pork from it and had no problems. Going out for chinese has been great, egg drop soup is so yummy, and I feel like a normal person again
  18. Nutritionist meeting in the AM, any suggestions for questions to ask?

    French toast on mushies?

Thanks for the quick answers. I guess I was thinking more of making it mushy rather than thinking about the fact that it's bread. Definitely don't want that uncomfy feeling, had it once, and ick! Bird feed sounds like a good idea....thanks for the idea
  20. Hi guys, just wondering what some vets think........I have about a half loaf of wheat bread left over from my neice's visit this past week, and was wondering if I could do french toast with it, since I am on mushy stage. Was thinking I could add more egg than normal and make it really mushy, and have sugar free syrup to use. This would not be a normal occurance, just hate to waste food if I don't have to.....what are your thoughts?

    NSV

I have battled high blood pressure for about 10 years, starting in my early 20's (scary to start so young) and in the last 5 years had it moderated with diet and no meds. It was averaging reading of 130's over 90's and pulse rate was usually in the 90's. The past week I've been monitoring my BP and it has been averaging 110's over 60's with my pulse rate in the 60's!!!!!! One reading was even 108/52......AMAZING!!!!!! Thank you sleeve, lol.
  22. Trying to avoid the evil scale!

  23. I wouldn't worry much. I'm just starting week 4 and I have only lost about 14 pounds so far. However, my mantra is "a loss is a loss, is a loss". As long as I'm making smarter choices most of the time and getting in fluids, then whatever may be may be. Besides, I think with slower weight loss it gives your body more of a chance to keep up, not to mention your skin to rebound. Just keep making good choices and it'll happen.
  24. I'm so sorry you're having such a difficult recovery. I hope things improve for you soon. You're in my thoughts.
