  1. Just curious if anyone has taken the Bariatric Advantage chewable Iron? If so which flavor? I have been anemic for years but I never take my prescription iron mainly cause I don't like taking pills but also cause it hurts my stomach so much. I will be having my surgery around the first of April so I really wanted to take some Iron before then just for good measure. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated!
  2. Hey girl. How are things going? When is ur 6 month with Dr. Hoehn? Mine is this Wednesday.

  3. Bought a size 10 jeans a couple days ago!!! Haven't worn a 10 in about 12 years.

  4. You don't have to use it if you don't want to. I had already ordered a sample variety pack of Bariatric Fusion from one of the sites (bariatric pantry i think) and actually really liked them. But when I went in for preop visit I just told them I already had some (which technically I did..lol) and used them and some other samples I had. My favorite of all the ones I tried happened to be the Bariatric Fusion especially the Cappuccino which I did end up buying a tub of later and it cost the same at Dr. Hoehn's office as it did online or well depending on what website but they were all within a few dollars of each other. I would definitely suggest buying the sample pack online and if you don't like them then just use whatever you do like. I drank a lot, and still do, of the atkins shakes.
  5. Good luck Monday! You are in good hands!

    Bra Question

I had an incision right where my bra band would lay. I don't think I wore a bra for at least two weeks. Even when I went for my one week check up to get my staples out I just wore a soft cup camisole under my shirt and walked with my arms crossed..lol. But then again I am not one of those people that feels the need to wear a bra all the time. As soon as I walk in the door to my house the first thing I do is take my bra and shoes off, or at least before surgery that's what I did. I was about a 40G then and now that I'm down to a DDD it's not as uncomfortable so I tend to keep it on more.
  7. Officially halfway to goal today!! Lovin my sleeve!!

    Updates

I just had my 2 month check up with Dr. Hoehn and I am down 40lbs. I'm hoping to remember to do my measurements tomorrow. I was almost in a size 20 pants and am now in some of my bigger 14s, from 40/42 G bra to a 38DDD, usually wore 22/24 shirts at lane bryant or xl t-shirts and now 14/16 and larges. I even wore a bathing suit in public a couple weeks ago when I took my daughter and her friend to the Water park (which I would have NEVER done before)! Life is good! How is everyone else doing?

    Updates

Wow! You are just AWESOME Deb. You are such an inspiration to so many of us sleevers!
  10. I couldn't do cold at first but around day 9 it got better. I started that evening with a slushie then slowly started to add colder protein drinks during the mornings.
  11. How are things going? Pretty good here just busy with all my daughter's recitals and softball. When do you go back to Dr. Hoehn? I go Monday at 1:00. I just need 5 more pounds to be halfway there.

  12. I was about on the same pace. Started a stall about 2 weeks out that lasted forever..or so it seemed. I think I was about 25 or 30 pounds at 5 weeks, but weeks 6 and 7 have been really good. It will come (or go as the case may be) so don't stress out about it. Like you said you're LOSING so that's what I have to remind myself of too at times. I've accepted that I may be a slow loser and that is okay because I know that once it's gone it's not coming back!
  13. Well technically it's been 5 weeks but here's my new "official" measurements taken by my trainer. Weight 223 to 194 -29 BMI 43.6 to 37.5 Body Fat 46.8 to 44.2 -2.6 Arms 16 to 14.5 -1.5 Legs 27 to 25 -2 Waist 51 to 46.5 -4.5 Hips 53 to 50 -3 Bust 48 to 44.5 -3.5 Total 14.5
  14. It was good. I ate about 1/3 of it and gave the rest to my daughter. How is everything going? I'm finally beginning to enjoy eating again. I cooked some veggies the other day and hubby smoked me some chicken..it was so good. We are headed back down to LA next week. What kinds of meat do u eat? I find chicken to be about the only meat I can tolerate well.

    First Months Loss

I absolutely LOVE Dr. Hoehn! I was fortunate that my insurance paid 100% of my surgery or else I would've probably been looking to go to Mexico too. I am a member at Anytime Fitness and I was working with a trainer there during my pre-op just to help with my weight loss during my liquid diet. I haven't been back to working with her again since surgery just been doing treadmill and chasing kids . She just met me at the gym the other day to do my measurements for me since I was about a month out. I have 4 more sessions contracted with her as soon as I'm released for working out again (hopefully after my June 20 Dr. check up). She is not gonna be with my gym anymore after that. I think she took a job downtown KC around Westport area. I was hesitant to tell her about my surgery since she's a trainer thinking she would judge but she has been very supportive. And yeah I live in North KC, Smithville. Good luck with ur weight loss and keep in touch!
  16. You're better than me then...I had two rectangles of a real Hershey bar! I think I'm gonna try one of the atkins bars tomorrow and I'll let ya know how it goes.

  17. Are we allowed to eat protein bars, ya think? Like the ones that are mostly just soft stuff inside or the atkins peanut butter cups?

    First Months Loss

I really need to get back to the gym too. I think it will help a lot. And I totally feel ya on the stall. At like 2 weeks out I stalled at 200.0 for what seemed like forever. It never fluctuated to 200.4 or 200.2 just 200.0 like it was just teasing me..lol.
  19. My wedding ring fits again...yippeeeee!

    Bulging disks?

I have a herniated disk in my neck and had been going to physical therapy for about 4 months 3x a week prior to being sleeved. So far so good. Haven't even had to go to therapy since surgery.
  21. I think mine said 3 months as well.
  22. Hey Renee. I'm pretty good. Still having a little trouble getting my fluid in and eating much but it gets a little better each week. I think I just have to accept that I'm gonna be a slow loser, but that's okay as long as I'm losing! How are you? What have you been eating?

    Recovery Question

Personally I think I would have been fine alone. I didn't have any pain after leaving the hospital, but everyone is different. My parents came and stayed a couple weeks so my husband didn't have to take off work but that was just cause I have small kids.

Sonic Drink Hope on a Hot Day!

A big ol sonic coke is one of the things I miss the most! I ended up getting a bag of sonic ice and I use it to make me a sf tropical punch kool-aid slushie with my ninja almost every night.
  25. Per my plan I could start having basically solids at day 8. Supposed to eat proteins foods for first month then at week 5 (next week..yippee!) I can start adding cooked veggies and fruits minus citrus. Just curious when everyone else started eating things like hamburger meat, popcorn, top of pizza, bread, chips? I am not a volume eater so once I am able to eat these things I am fine with just eating a bite or a couple. I also know I can't eat some of these all the time only on occasion and in moderation.
