MY GOODNESS!! TMI for some
So, do any of you find that you have lots of gas since being sleeved. I am not talking about burping...LOL. Man, I constantly have gas and it is gross. I seriously pass gass, I know, probably 45 times a day. It is annoying! Is it because our bellys are so small or what? Kelly

Breast Loss
Yeah, I am with you on this one, I don't think I would do it either. But, hey if that is your cup of tea, then go for it! Mine look fine with a good bra, just smaller! And since I use to complain that they were so big, I guess I got my wish of smaller ones!! LOL Kelly

It's a DATE!!!

all i want to do is sleep...
I know you feel awful and trust me when I tell you that everyday you WILL get better and better. Do you exercises and Drink!! If nothing else, focus on the one ounce every 10 minutes. That will keep you from getting dehydrated. You don't want that on top of everything else. If you can, drink some protein drink that will help you too. Those liquids count as your liquids also. So SIP SIP SIP!! Do your walking and those breathing exercises. They suck, but will make you heal!! In 3-4 days you will have forgotten all about feeling so crappy. I guarantee it. Hugs, Kelly

How many calories is everyone getting per day?
I am 4 months out and do best when I eat 1000-1200 on the days I exercise and 750-900 on the days I don't. I am not supposed to count calories, but I do! Kelly

What made you do it?
So many times I felt the same way!! Almost like I wasn't given an opportunity because of my size. It is so disturbing. Now that I have lost 100lbs, it is amazing how differently I am treated and it almost makes me mad. I mean it is nice to finally be treated right, but at the same time I think, if I were 100lbs heavier, you wouldn't treat me that way. HOW SAD!!! I am proud of you for making your health and career a priority. When you do have your surgery, go get em' and never settle for less than you deserve! Hugs, Kelly

Confused about time to take Vits and what not to mix?
Just do NOT take calcium, Iron or your PPI togther, the rest are fine. I take my PPI when I get up at 5am. At about 6am, I take my Vit C, Vit D and B-12. At 7am I take an iron pill. I take my multi when I eat breakfast and then every 2 hours I take a dose of calcium (3 daily). I then take another iron pill with dinner and another Prilosec before bed. Seems like a lot, but once you get in a groove, it is just second nature. Kelly

SERIOUS QUESTION PLEASE EVERYONE READ!!!!!!!!!
I always have heavy peroids. Had mine a week before surgery, stopped 2 days before surgery and for some reason the surgery made me start again 4 days after and go for another week. WEIRD!!! This made me SEVERLY anemic. I was slightly anemic before and now it is really bad. I would call your dr. and let them know about the bleeding. They might not be so concerned, but they might, seeing as you just had surgery. If you get dizzy or lightheaded or just can't stand or stay awake, definatly let them know. That was my problem and I had to get on supplements. Now, every month when I have my period, I get soooo weak and dizzy. It is not fun! Kelly

How do you reward yourself now?
I get facials regularly and have for years. I think my reward these past few months have been all of the clothes I have had to buy! LOL I love shopping and getting to try on and buy things that actually look good on me now that I am a size 8! I will contiune to "reward" myself as I continue to lose! LOL Kelly

sleeve diet
It varies from person to person, but I am 4 months out and I typically eat the following: Breakfast I will have a scrambled egg, I can eat almost a whole one if it is plain, but if there is cheese on it, I can only do 1/2. If I have a couple strawberries or some other fruit, I am only eating 1/2 of that egg too. If I have boiled eggs, I can eat 1 1/2 of those. I eat meat sometimes 2 oz is my max of any dense meat. lunch I eat maily meat, again 2 oz and I am done! I usually only eat the dense Protein at luch time. I like tuna, salmon, foster farms meat balls, turkey burgers, hamburgers, tri-tip, any steak, chicken (that is what I had today), meatloaf, pot roast, grilled sausages, etc. I try to stay away from luchmeat as it is softer (not as dense) and has a lot of salt in it. dinner again more dense meat, but try to eat 1-1 1/2 oz to save a bite or two for some veggies, this is about the only time of day I eat them and usually only a few times a week, so I try to save room. I just take a bite or two of hubbys potatoe, green Beans or salad. It doesn't pay for me to make my own! LOL Snacks I like beef Jerky, peanuts, almonds, greek yogurt, Pure Protein Bars, more dense meat, cheese, fruit sometimes, granola thins from nature valley are yummy. I try not to snack too much, but have to some days to get my caloires up because I can eat so little most days. Hope this helps you. kelly

What to tell people why I am out?
Noboday knows I had WLS except my husband. Not even my family!! I don't want to hear the negative comments and ignorant crap that comes out of people's mouths! You don't have to tell anyone anything. Your work can not ask you any questions if it is medical so just leave it at that if you want. I told them I was having a hernia repair which I was supposed to do, but found out I didn't have one after all! Best of luck to you! Kelly

Having trouble getting food down!!! Help!
I had that too when I went to solids. It is just that you are still swollen in there and you need to find other things to eat. Is it everything makes you feel that way or just certain things?? For me chicken and eggs were the WORST! They sat in my throat for hours. I never puked either, but sure wanted to, to make that feeling go away! Try things that are less dense, that will help, if it doesn't, go back a food stage for a day or two and then try introducing a food or two again. That is what I did. Kelly

Is It Nornal to Lose So Little in the Beginning?
That is a little over 1/2 lb a day. What are you upset about? That is great. At that rate, that is 15lbs a month. THAT IS FANTASTIC!! Celebrate every pound lost and know that you will never see it again!! You are freshly sleeved and probably are holding on to surgery weight. I gained 12lbs during surgery from fluids. It will come off. Don't worry. I have lost 50lbs in 4 short months. It will happen!! Kelly

I had a good summer. Thanks for asking! Spent a lot of time outside exercising this summer. YAY. I have 11lbs to go to goal. It is getting harder and harder. What made you do it?
On 4/9/10, I went to the dr. because I was having chest pains. I had to lay on the table at 280lb, naked, and have an EKG done, while 2 women a man, and my dr. starred at me!!!Thankfully, nothing was wrong with my heart and to make a long story short, it was just a pulled muscle! That scared the crap outta me and I stopped smoking that day and haven't smoked since!! YAY ME! I was alread diabetic and taking high blood pressure medication at that time. I thought a lot about what my life would be like if I didn't change it. I cried a lot for the next two weeks and knew that I could loose weight, but would just blow back up in a matter of time because that is what I did over and over again! I had researched WLS in the past, but never went thru with it. I didn't like the idea of having my guts re-routed and the band was weird for me, but that was the only other option that I knew. I emailed my dr. and asked if I could do it! He referred me instantly and her I am 104lbs thinner, healthier and happier! I love my sleeve! Kelly

1st trip to Costco ... what should i get?
Yeah, those Costco shakes make me sick too. I hated them after surgery and could not drink them GAG GAG GAG!!! As far as freezing the babybell cheese. You really do not need to do that. Cheese is good for long periods of time in the fridge and IS mold, so you don't need to freeze it. Besides, it is wrapped in wax and shouldn't get air exposure. They should stay good for months. Kelly
