  1. I exercised a lot prior to surgery because I was told it would help me recover faster. I believe it did. I was sleeved on Monday and went back to work the following Monday. I was tired, as I became severly anemic after surgery, but I was fine! I have a desk job, so nothing too strenuous. I was a little sore like I did a lot of crunches, but that was all. I didn't have pain or wasn't sick. Hope this helps! Kelly
  2. That is exactly why I told nobody but my husband. I didn't want to hear the negative bologna and ignorance that people like to say! I researched for over a year and had my surgery 17 weeks ago and STILL, the only person that knows is my husband! Kelly

  6. How AWESOME!! COngrats! I can't wait to have that same reaction in November when I go to visit family/friends in another state for Thanksgiving. They haven't seen me in 3 years! They are going to be floored most of them don't know about my weight loss and NONE of them know I have had WLS! Kelly

    Torani syrup--where to find them?

I don't use them, but have seen them in the coffe section of the grocery. Kelly
  9. I am 5ft 7 1/2 and my highest weight was 280lbs. I lost 55lbs pre-op and the day of surgery, I weighed 225lbs. The first month after my surgery, I lost 22lbs. I am now a little over 17 weeks out and have lost 49lbs since surgery and 104lbs overall! Hope this helps you! Kelly
  10. Yeah, I don't do Protein drinks. I agree that it seems to be anything I eat or drink and not just one thing in paticular. I guess it is just the little stomach and the air maybe. I agree tho that it is foul-smelling! LOL Kelly
  11. I say this over and over again, but those of you that take laxatives that don't need them are going to pay for it later in life!!! Simply not going to the bathroom DOES NOT mean you are constipated!! If you were constipated, you would know it! Taking those when it is not necessary will do damage to your colon and when you get older, you will pay for it. If you are not eating anything to get rid of, how on earth could you expect to poop? When our primary fuel source now is protein and our body uses all of it, there isn't any waste! Be careful! Kelly

    Breast Loss

Yeah, I am with you on this one, I don't think I would do it either. But, hey if that is your cup of tea, then go for it! Mine look fine with a good bra, just smaller! And since I use to complain that they were so big, I guess I got my wish of smaller ones!! LOL Kelly

    It's a DATE!!!

Congrats!! that is my b-day!! Kelly
  14. I know you feel awful and trust me when I tell you that everyday you WILL get better and better. Do you exercises and Drink!! If nothing else, focus on the one ounce every 10 minutes. That will keep you from getting dehydrated. You don't want that on top of everything else. If you can, drink some protein drink that will help you too. Those liquids count as your liquids also. So SIP SIP SIP!! Do your walking and those breathing exercises. They suck, but will make you heal!! In 3-4 days you will have forgotten all about feeling so crappy. I guarantee it. Hugs, Kelly
  15. I am 4 months out and do best when I eat 1000-1200 on the days I exercise and 750-900 on the days I don't. I am not supposed to count calories, but I do! Kelly

    What made you do it?

So many times I felt the same way!! Almost like I wasn't given an opportunity because of my size. It is so disturbing. Now that I have lost 100lbs, it is amazing how differently I am treated and it almost makes me mad. I mean it is nice to finally be treated right, but at the same time I think, if I were 100lbs heavier, you wouldn't treat me that way. HOW SAD!!! I am proud of you for making your health and career a priority. When you do have your surgery, go get em' and never settle for less than you deserve! Hugs, Kelly

    8 months out

You look wonderful!! Good job! Kelly
  18. Just do NOT take calcium, Iron or your PPI togther, the rest are fine. I take my PPI when I get up at 5am. At about 6am, I take my Vit C, Vit D and B-12. At 7am I take an iron pill. I take my multi when I eat breakfast and then every 2 hours I take a dose of calcium (3 daily). I then take another iron pill with dinner and another Prilosec before bed. Seems like a lot, but once you get in a groove, it is just second nature. Kelly

    Question??

everyone's bodies are different. i say track your calories and see what works best for you for a while. that is what i had to do. i do best around 1000-1200 on the days i exercise for an hour. on the days i don't i go between 700-900. that is when i get the best loss. it is getting harder and harder to lose tho the smaller i get. i have not lost anything for 2 weeks now!! and it is sure not for lack of trying! SIGH! Kelly

    Breast Loss

I surely had hoped that mine would stay. I had nice ones!! 42D and now I am a 34-36 C, still not too bad, but naked, they look HORRIBLE!! Kelly
  24. I always have heavy peroids. Had mine a week before surgery, stopped 2 days before surgery and for some reason the surgery made me start again 4 days after and go for another week. WEIRD!!! This made me SEVERLY anemic. I was slightly anemic before and now it is really bad. I would call your dr. and let them know about the bleeding. They might not be so concerned, but they might, seeing as you just had surgery. If you get dizzy or lightheaded or just can't stand or stay awake, definatly let them know. That was my problem and I had to get on supplements. Now, every month when I have my period, I get soooo weak and dizzy. It is not fun! Kelly
