    Lightheaded and Dizzy

So, I just heard from my dr. about this and this is what he said: Usually this light headedness/faintness improves over time as your body adjusts to your new weights. I suggest making certain you change position and posture slowly, especially early in the day. I would also break up your exercise routine into shorter times for now and concentrate on staying hydrated. I don't think your blood count is necessarily causing or contributing to this. So, I guess I will just get up slower, exercise shorter and drink more!! YAY! Kelly

    Lightheaded and Dizzy

That is exactly how I feel and it is exactly like I can't see. Everything is dark, but usually just for a second and then I am fine. This time was different tho and I went down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will definatly let you all know what my dr. says. I just sent him an email and he is really good about answering within a day. So, I will update here when I get a response. Kelly

    Lightheaded and Dizzy

Yeah, I am going to email my dr. and surgeon. They are off today because of the holiday, but hopefully, they will get back with me tomorrow. I also am anemic and don't know if this has anything to do with it or not, but I will keep you posted on what they say! Kelly

    Lightheaded and Dizzy

I was taken off my blood pressure meds a week after surgery, so about 4 months ago. I vagely remember being told in my orientation with Kaiser that this could happen, so I don't know if I should be worried or not. They talk about the dizziness a lot and how you feel lightheaded upon standing, but that was just too weird for me and I don't want it to happen in public!! I would be mortified!!!! Kelly

    Hunger

This was the ONE thing I hoped would go away after my surgery, but it didn't. I was on Nexium and did find that switching to Prilosec at 2 months helped ALOT!! I am a little over 4 months out now and I do still get hungry, but I am not STARVING all of the time like I was before. If you are not on a PPI, get on one and if you are taking one, you may need to switch. It makes a big difference. Kelly

    Do You....

NO WAY!!! That is why I did not have WLS years ago. I NEVER would have my guts re-routed! I love my sleeve and have never had one moment of buyer's remorse! Kelly
  8. This is a great read! Thanks!! Kelly
  9. I agree that each surgeon is different and does their own thing. I had a breathing tube during surgery and a catheter. They took my catheter out about 4 hours after my surgery and I was able to go on my own. I did NOT have a drain. Kelly

My Dr. wanted me to lose 20lbs and I lost 55lbs. Kelly

If you are craving caramel or candy, try this.

I have the Werther's sugar free hard candies too. I have one every once in a while. I also like the sugar free Russel Stover candy. The peanut butter cups are really good. Reese's makes sugar free cups also, but Russel Stover's are better believe it or not! Kelly

    White or Dark Chicken?

My husband LOVES the bonless chicken thighs!! Early out, I ate them baked because they were moister (is that a word???) than the breast meat and easier to swallow. I would not worry about the nutritional value too much early on becasue you will not be able to eat more than 2oz at a time!! At least I couldn't! Now, at 4 motnhs out, I eat grilled chicken breast. It is moist and doesn't give me issues. I still eat the thighs sometime tho! Kelly
  13. I am no dr, but it sounds like you are really swollen and maybe eating too much at one time or too fast. That is usually the reason for puking. If you are not doing this, then you need to tell your dr. You could have other problems that are making you puke. Call him!! Kelly
  14. I felt great too!! I was just sore and a little tired. Please remember that you did have major surgery tho and take it easy!!! I was walking 2 miles at 5 days out and got into trouble!! So just remember to take it easy and rest even though you do feel great! Kelly

    SF Yogurt?

I really hate greek yogurt, I tried and tried to like it because of the Protein, but yuk!! I am so excited!!!! I bought some yesterday Dannon Okios fruit on the bottom, it is DELISH!!! I think it is just sweet enough that it takes that DRY taste out of it. I got the strawberry and the blueberry kind. I am in love!! Kelly

    I need your help.

Not everyone can lose on low carb diets. I CAN NOT!! That is why I don't count them. When I low carb, I don't lose or I gain.!!! WEIRD! Stop weighing yourself everyday and stop counting all them carbs. Also, up your calories a bit if you are working out that much and with a trainer. Your body is probalby starving to death!! Drink your water and watch your salt! It will happen. Kelly
  20. Aww. Thanks! I did loose quite a bit pre-op 55lbs!! I have lost 48lbs since my surgery on May 9th. My loss has slowed down a lot in the past month or so. I feel that now that I am so close to my goal, it is getting A LOT harder to lose. I only have 13lbs to go and it seems like I have to work twice as hard to lose 1lb let alone 3-4lbs. I definatley can tell that I am still losing inches even when the scale doesn't move so much, so that keeps me motivated! I feel great and am sooo happy! Hugs, Kelly
  21. I was sleeved May 9th and much like you have not lost much in the past month! I think the closer we get to goal the harder it is for us. I have lost 103lbs, 55 lbs was pre-op and I feel great at 177lbs. However, I too would like to get to my goal of 165 lbs. or less. I don't lose anything for days and days! It is devistating when you do all the right stuff and NOTHING happens on the scale!! I believe that I still lose inches tho. Are you measuring yourself. I am not, but know because of the way my clothes fit. I have learned that I have to up my calories a bit when I exercise more or I WONT lose. So, I make sure to do that. I drink my water and take my supplements faithfully. I have to keep on keepin' on cuz we can't quit with the sleeve. I can't just say screw it and go eat a pizza!! LOL I believe it is just harder the smaller we get. I am in an 8 and think it just takes more diligents now! Don't give up, it WILL happen for us! Hugs, Kelly

Poll: Do you eat your exercise calories?

NO WAY!! They say you should NEVER eat them because most people over estimate their caloric burn and eat more than what they think they burned and just end up with more calories than what they should have been eating to begin with! Kelly

    Any wine drinkers out there?

If you want a good, mildly sweet wine get some White Zinfandel. That is what I drink or did drink prior to sleeve. Beringer is the best and Sutter Homes makes a good one too. Drink it cold. Kelly

    It's official........

Good for you! That is great! Kelly
  25. I found myself STARVING all of the time after surgery too!! I was so discouraged and thought, WTH??? I wanted so badly for that to go away, but it didn't. Are you taking a PPI?? I was taking Nexium and heard others talking about how much better Prilosec worked for them. I bought some Prilosec OTC at Walmart and tried it for 14 days. In about 7, I noticed a HUGE difference in how hungry I was. It was like someone flipped a switch in my belly! I was so happy!! I got my PCP to write a script and now I take it twice a day. I still get hungry, but not all damn day!! If you are not on something, make sure to tell your Dr. that you need to be. It will help. Also, don't be too hard on yourself about the loss, it will happen. YOu have to give your body a chance to heal and once you start eating, you will lose. Those liquid calories are not nice!! Kelly
